he heard the thick mouth of the perpetual thunder - Illidan - February 10, 2019

On the borders. Hoping maybe for @Kavik

the wildling had moved past the woods and had found fresh markings on the edge of a pack that seemed as though it had claimed an area with a creek that flowed through it. the sound of water could be heard from even where the young ghost stood. he did not dare to cross the edge of their claim; he knew that it would have been one of the last things he'd done. instead, he lingered just on the outside of their borders with his head low and his hawkish gaze searching for signs of someone familiar.

when he had spent nearly thirty minutes on the outside of the creek pack, the drew his head back and called for anyone who was near who might meet him. the scent of kavik was not strong enough for him to pick it up. he was there only to inquire as to whether or not anyone had seen the dark man with green eyes, or if they could point illidan in the right direction.

The call draws her attention away from her task, ears perking as she pauses her vigorous grooming mid-lick. For a moment she's perfectly still, tongue pressed to her foreleg as she considers the source of the call. Young and male; perhaps the wolf the dark man at the borders had spoken of. The thought sends a bolt of irritation through her, and she considers that perhaps she should allow someone else to handle the visitor.
After a moment of deliberation, she rises to answer the call nonetheless, ignoring the discomfort in her rounded belly as she shifts to get to her feet. She's finally started to put on weight — rather quickly, actually. It's as distressing as it is relieving; she is, undeniably, a bit vain. Thoughts of her weight quickly take a backseat as the stranger comes into view, noting first his striking yellow gaze. The other wolf is younger than she'd realized, too young to have any use for heat season yet. The realization softens her slightly, and her tone is more or less neutral as she addresses him, though she keeps her words brief. Hello. What do you need?

the young man was met rather swiftly by the figure of a dark woman. she approached on willowy limbs before drawing her crown upward and addressing him, asking what it was that he wanted. he noted just how different the greeting was from the woman’s by the willow pack. he imagined that lily had taken the helm of a domain where kindness and generosity were better met than a distrustful glance or the flash of a fang. illidan knew better than to miss what was happening, though. the dark-hooded young man bowed his head to offer her the respect her rank within the pack called for.

“i’m looking for a couple of wolves who i’d lived with. they left their home on the plateau,” the ghost offered her in a simple, graveled tone. the sharp yellow of his gaze roamed her features for only a moment before he fixed them on the end of her muzzle where a dark wet nose sat. it was there that he waited for her to meet him with sad news, or something more hopeful.
