One world - Arbiter - February 14, 2019 @Corvus -- I know you got swept but if you're able, here's the thread? If not, no prob, I got a backup plan, eyes emoji here.
She was looking for Corvus. They'd planned this spar and it was fortunate for her that it seemed to be lining up fairly well with the way her life was going. Treason felt well enough that she was up for adventure, so she headed off towards the lake as had likely been the plan. It wasn't too far from either of their packs, so despite the seasonal chilly weather, it wasn't a bad trip. In fact, she pretty much thought nothing of the distance. In fact, she hadn't thought about telling @Terance that she was planning on going anywhere either. And why would she? She was just going off for a spar, and that was a pretty ordinary thing in her world (the concept, at least). Yeah, that might come back to bite her. At least Corvus would be easy to spot -- a dark blot on the mostly white landscape. Hopefully he had remembered this was happening -- and that nothing was getting in the way, like Stigmata telling him to not interact with her again or something. She hoped if he was given that ultimatum that Corvus would have just bailed entirely on that pack. Treason hoped he'd be that logical, otherwise again she'd go and question her judgement. RE: One world - Terance - February 21, 2019 enter the teekon wilds favorite fallback boy
treason waited a while with no one to show for. corvus did not show up, and whether he stood her up or got into some sort of tussle was unclear, but she had been alone, waiting, for quite some time. of course, terance wouldn't know this. all he knew was that treason hadn't been at either of their dens, and when he followed her scent it led straight out of the territory. alarmed, though not worried for treason, necessarily, terance took off after her. maybe she just wanted to stretch her legs? he was unsure. either way, these early stages were so crucial. terance refused to let anything happen to get or the possibility of life that grew in her womb. he just wanted to make sure she was alright... that's all... terance spotted her sitting, appearing to be waiting, and was immediately confused. who would she be waiting for right now? of all times... terance chuffed from a distance, heard cocked and ears pricked forwards. expectant. RE: One world - Arbiter - February 22, 2019 Unsurprisingly, the fact that he wasn't showing up (again) wasn't sitting well with her. In fact, Treason was getting pretty irritated. Was Corvus just that bad with followup appointments? Ugh. Yeah, definitely a good thing she'd picked Terance. In fact, before he'd arrived on the scene, she'd done some wider investigating and pacing about just in case she was remembering what was said incorrectly, but found nothing. She was nearing the point of just giving up and returning home anyway when she saw an approaching dark blot. Oh, finally. Maybe he was just horrendously late. She got to her feet and had started to stretch, thinking of what kind of barbed comments she'd chuck Corvus' way when he got closer when the call sounded distinctly not the wolf she was waiting for. Wait, what. Treason squinted. The hell? That was Terance, wasn't it? She'd just assumed it was gonna be Corvus, though now that she thought about it, that was distinctly the wrong direction for him to be coming from. So uh. What the heck was he doing here anyway? Either way, she headed over towards him, musing once she was within range, You aren't the wolf I was expecting to find out here.It possibly had that previously mentioned question implied. RE: One world - Terance - February 23, 2019 while it might've implied a question of terance, it implied a question of treason as well (does that make any sense? wtf?). terance quirked a brow, head still tilted. "who were you expecting to see?" he asked, moving forwards to round upon her swiftly like he was circling prey. ears flicking, he padded in a motion around her a few steps before pausing, tail swishing, green gaze resting on her. RE: One world - Arbiter - February 23, 2019 As Terance started to move around her, she watched him a moment, then started her own turn to keep opposite. She'd been looking to fight, after all, so she wasn't in the mindset to just stay put and place herself at a disadvantage. It might not have even been a conscious decision. She didn't have a problem with responding. It wasn't like she was out doing anything improper, even if she was kind of annoyed at the fact things weren't going as planned, Corvus. We'd planned another spar. He doesn't seem to be good on follow-up.Because this was the second time he'd said he'd show up later and he just.. hadn't. He'd said he'd ended up in a fight or something before, but the fact this was happening again made her question it. This was a good reason to just not trust wolves from other packs to be reliable. But oh well, she'd learn, and it didn't seem likely he'd get a third chance to disappoint her -- he'd already burned his second chance for her to meet him halfway. RE: One world - Terance - February 25, 2019 terance didn't plan on sparring, but if she desperately wanted one then he wouldn't fight her on it -- or, well, he would fight her on it, i guess. either way, as she began to circle with him, terance's ears flicked. and then she told him who she was waiting for. corvus... the back up. or had he been the first choice? terance was honestly unsure where he fell in the whole situation -- had he just been an easy back-up? he remembered treason's comment about his competition dropping out, or however she'd phrased it, not too long ago. he paused, steady, green gaze falling across her hooded features, across her striking blue gaze. and then he scoffed, rolling his shoulders, the most transparent terance had been in a long while -- jealousy. "you don't seem like the type to settle for less," he commented, eyes still trained on her. RE: One world - Arbiter - February 25, 2019 It probably didn't help that Corvus not showing made her a little grumpy, Treason probably was missing out on the subtlety. She snorted. I'm not. But that doesn't mean I'm not disappointed.Twice he disappointed her. Why had she given him another chance? She looked a final time towards where she was pretty sure Corvus would be coming from and saw nothing. Treason's attention shifted back to Terance, and she took a couple of steps sort of towards him, sort of back towards the Hollow -- kind of splitting the difference. It means I chose right. For what she said, she still sounded kind of bitter. Mixed messages? Probably. But she wasn't used to getting ditched and wasn't planning on having it be a repeating thing. RE: One world - Terance - February 25, 2019 suddenly, terance was plummeting into a state of confusion. sur-fucking-prise. had she accepted his advances that easily? or had they just gone over her head -- she didn't seem a very affectionate mood... treason usually didn't, but he had been able to be much more doting with her lately than she'd previously allowed. he hesitated, not physically, but in that he was entirely silent even as she moved towards him. not brave enough to make an assumption, terance cleared his throat, ears flicking. maybe this was a conversation for another day, but he'd already begun to dialogue -- never mind that treason hadn't realized it. "i think you misunderstood me," he said, voice gruff, nose tipping down as he eyed her. RE: One world - Arbiter - February 26, 2019 She mentally had started to brush the thought away, to package up her irritation until the actual subject of it appeared again, if he ever did. Treason was fine with just going home, and probably not planning on searching for Corvus again; he knew where to find her if he wanted to apologize. Terance's response, though, wasn't what she was expecting and it drew her attention. Mm? How so?She seemed sort of casually perplexed. In her mind, things were pretty clear-cut -- Corvus had let her down, Terance had kind of poked fun at her, and she had stated that she was happy with her previous decisions. And thus also with Terance. Maybe she hadn't really made that clear or something. RE: One world - Terance - February 26, 2019 she asked clarification, confused that she herself hadn't been clear enough. but let's face it, terance wasn't good at taking hints. either way, terance didn't know this, so he would clarify for her. he stood a few steps towards her, closing the distance more, only a few steps in front of her now. his ears swung forwards. he refrained, at least at first, from saying something outright corny or cliche... but who knows how it'd come across. "i'm not interested in anyone else," he said a little more plainly, and then, "i think we make a good team." RE: One world - Arbiter - February 26, 2019 Blink. Pause. Okay, yeah they were definitely in different orbits, because that didn't entirely make sense. Or maybe it did. Kind of. It took her a second or two to process what he'd actually said. Her brows raised a little. Isn't that kind of counter to what you said before? She sounded like she was maybe a little teasing, maybe a little unsure. Not negative, though. Let's be real, there were times where Treason totally didn't know what she wanted, but she'd taken Terance at his word... But he'd apparently changed his mind? She didn't want to misunderstand that... Thaaaat would be kind of embarrassing, so she'd err on the side of coy or something. RE: One world - Terance - February 26, 2019 he gave a little shrug. "couldn't resist your charms," he challenged with a quirk of his brow. he took another step forwards, his ears flicking, green gaze still steady upon her face. was she playing coy, or rejecting him? terance literally couldn't tell. RE: One world - Arbiter - February 26, 2019 I'd been kind of joking about that, she quietly quipped. She knew that she wasn't exactly, well.. Approachable. Standoffish and overly serious were probably better descriptors to her. But she cautiously stepped towards him, ears tipped slightly back, head lowered, still unsure of herself, but he'd been refocused as a goal. Treason hadn't thought much as to why she did this, or why other things recently had popped to mind. She was not particularly wordly or emotionally savvy, she just went with the flow, and that was what her subconscious urged her to do. Whatever it had meant. RE: One world - Terance - February 26, 2019 what kinda fuckin answer was that. terance stared at her as she said something about just kidding... and then stepped forward. she was sending mixed signals all over the place. or, well, maybe she wasn't. as emotionally in tune as terance was with himself, he was (again) pretty bad at picking up on things. he was quiet for a moment, and then he too stepped forwards again -- until the distance was closed. until he stood just before her with a kind confusion in his gaze, though his expression was not as lost as he felt inwardly. he appeared far more grounded. "it held some truth," he said, testing the waters, reaching out to nose gently at the base of her chin. RE: One world - Arbiter - February 26, 2019 From there, though, she honestly didn't know what to say. She was trained to be a soldier, to be hostile as needed, to kill. She hadn't stuck around at home to pay attention to other family members starting new families, and she'd pretty much scorned the non-alpha pups at Sunspire. It probably would have done her some good if she had not done one of those things. But here was Terance right in front of her, and both of them seemed a little bit confused. When he bumped her chin, her tongue poked out, giving a quick lick to the top of his muzzle before she slipped half a step closer, and then there was no distance. She had her nose buried in the fur of his neck again. RE: One world - Terance - February 26, 2019 though he still teetered on the edge of confused, terance pretty much understood this as a solid and definite return of feelings. mutual, even. would terance probably always throw himself into things harder than others? yeah, definitely, but he'd been working on it. him working on his spontaneity had apparently done him well, since he'd really not had any apparent feelings towards her until right now. i mean, mild things, maybe, but not until now had terance actually pieced it all together. and then he acted. tune in later to see if it was a mistake. anyway, as she buried her nose into the thick of his head, he curved his head to kiss the top of her head. and then, with a gruff sound, terance said. "then let's go home." because he didn't wanna ruin anything asking questions, and he was unsure what else could be done out here. especially if corvus ended up showing his face. on top of all that, he still held his initial concern for her well-being, and would prefer she was close to the safety of the territory again. RE: One world - Arbiter - February 26, 2019 It was probably a good thing he didn't ask anything, as Treason attempting to answer might end up with her saying something completely not a good idea. Again, emotional awareness of a rock. After today, though, maybe she'd actually sit down and think about what had just happened, about why. Whether or not she'd realize the answer was still pretty unclear... Or what she'd even think of it. At a very cursory level, she'd probably at least figure that if he'd kept his word and then found someone else, she would have been kind of pissed. There were still a lot of questions, but at least she didn't have to answer any of them now -- to anyone. And a good chunk of pack was gone for a few more days, too, so even less nosy sorts about. Maybe she could find some answers by then. For now, she kept her cards clutched close to her chest, especially when she was so unsure. But she liked this, she was used to how close they'd gotten and (surprisingly) could actually kind of appreciate it. Treason still wasn't much into talking, so her agreement was a quiet almost-croon and then a light nip before she looked away from him towards the Hollow. Yeah. Home. She turned back to Terance, licked his cheek, then took a couple of steps away before waiting for him since she wasn't going to wander far. Her attitude had certainly shifted, but her expression was still kind of a weird muddled mess to anyone trying to read it, as her confused feelings didn't mesh well with her typical state. Her actions were probably closer to the truth. She'd keep close to his side the whole way back, moreso than usual. And it was probably a good thing he kept his concern to himself -- Treason was still herself, and despite how things were going, she probably would have done something specifically to spite him. |
