It started off warm - Derg - February 17, 2019

The man decided to venture out, bringing @Keen along with him. He decided it would be a good day to go out looking for her pack. It had been a while and they'd surely be missing her.
He moved northward because it was closer and he had a chance of finding something to eat, too.
When the weather improved, he'd take the girl south.

Now, he was by no means an expert in the workings of the Earth, but he knew something strange and perhaps wonderous when he saw it.
The bolder stood central to a clearing, which rather had a faint hint of a pack long gone. Cracked a the base, the top leaning against one another for support. His brows furrowed, stalking towards the monument with curiosity. He looked up, then down into the hole beneath it that seemed to be carved out: by nature or some other creature, he didn't know.
Focused on his wonder and expecting a Keen to be lurking around too, he wouldn't think much of another presence.

RE: It started off warm - Anargul - February 18, 2019

Anargul was in a different area of the wilds now, but she couldn’t care less. She trudged along, her old limbs tired and slow, and mostly wondered how she was still alive. Her lip curled at the scent of another wolf ahead and she looked up to see a strange boulder sitting before her. A male wolf was looking at it, not seeming to pay her any attention. She stopped where she was, not wishing to get any closer to the male. She didn’t care about the monolith itself, so she just stared around at nothing, taking in nothing, but hyper-aware of the presence of the other wolf. He smelled of others. Did that mean a pack was nearby? Oh, great.

RE: It started off warm - Keen - February 18, 2019

feel free to skip me unless derg addresses keen <3 she won't go anywhere near or speak to anyone else!
She's still undeniably a little nervous about the whole traveling part of traveling with Derg — but it is what she'd agreed to, so she follows him without question. She finds it exciting, too, in a way; it is fun to explore, to really take her time to see things now that she doesn't have to worry so much about her safety. But she still worries. It is less intrusive than before, knowing Derg is always near, but the nagging anxiety always seems to be just enough to sour her enjoyment of the experience.
Still, there are moments she can lose herself in. Even from a distance, the sight of the massive boulder takes her breath away for a moment; the faint gold of sunlight reflected off the stony surface highlights each jagged crack, bringing her gaze down slowly to the darkness of its yawning entrance. Her gaze flicks briefly to Derg, who is some distance ahead of her, then back to the marvelous sight, eyes alight with curiosity and joy. But before she can approach him, another appears; a stranger, aged and nondescript. Nothing to fear, surely, but her heart seizes at the sight anyway, and she scrambles a few paces back with a sharp breath despite the distance already between them. She turns, ears flushing with heated shame, and starts to wander to a different part of the territory. She won't let Derg fully out of her sight, but she has no interest in his interaction with the stranger. The last thing she needs is another way to make herself look stupid.

The man turned, ears immediately folding back. He caught the curled lips of the other but wasn't about to start fighting in front of Keen.
Ah, Keen. The girl was slinking off into the woods. He didn't blame her, he would've if he was in her position.

The other, old seeming by the way they moved. Female by her scent. His eyes narrowed, wondering what she was doing. She didn't seem to be interested in the boulder, no. For some reason, the trees around her seemed more interesting. He let a low sound emit from his chest, not a greeting yet not a warning. His eyes roved around again and trailed on Keen's coat moving in the trees. Good, smart girl.

Now, this old woman. Who was she and what was she doing?
The man started to move away from the monument, eyes locked on the woman's form. He didn't know what he'd do, perhaps talk to her; if she wasn't a stubborn bitch.
Grezig.
His lips curled up in a half smile; his sister did happen to be rather stubborn.
