Slow your role, getta a hold don't melt - Kovertol - March 24, 2019 Perhaps @Minori or anyone looking for Naturalist
He grunted, then grunted some more. The tree he rubbed against was now thick with winter plumage from his back but it felt good. He rocked down onto all fours again, snorting then sneezing. The air was crisp, it was fresh. He didn't have cramps or pins and needles. He'd been stretching his legs recently. Getting ready for the hunting that would come.
He liked to hunt a calf after waking up, made him feel alive; then it was back to scavenging and the odd hunt when he had the energy. He swung his head around, yawning and scratching an itch from his shoulder. It was a nice day. He started to amble off again, looking for a good, thick trunked sequioa. He wondered if those funny berry trees had regrown, but doubted it. Perhaps he'd take a summer trip. Such trivial things for a bear to think about on a sunny day, yet why shouldn't he? Would he find a mate this year? Maybe. He hadn't scented any recent females around but he supposed there was more to explore as yet. RE: Slow your role, getta a hold don't melt - Minori - March 24, 2019 She waddled around because she refused to sit still. Sure @Issun would probably get on her case but she was a god damn warrior and she would never lounge around like a lazy freeloader. In fact she had managed to get the upper hand on a particularly stupid rabbit that had come out during the warm weather. She carried it proudly as she waddled around trying her damndest not to waddle. That was when she caught wind of Kovertol and she remembered her horrible first meeting with the bear. She looked down her nose at the rabbit and sighed, carrying it toward the bear and standing a respectful distance away before dropping it "Hello Kovertol I know it isn't much for you but i wanted to apologise for my first meeting with you" she said with only the slightest wobble in her voice. The small scar on her head throbbed as she remembered being flung into a tree. Surely a bear who allied himself with wolves wouldn't hurt her, right? RE: Slow your role, getta a hold don't melt - Kovertol - March 25, 2019 "Bärchen"
His head turned to the woman, the name he'd bestowed to her rolling off his lips. She even walked like a bear, and still, she kept eating! Or was it the season for pups? Now he thought about it, it was probably the latter. He grunted in soft amusement before lumbering over, lowering his muzzle to greet her. He breathed softly onto her muzzle, provided she held fast. He withdrew shortly, glad they'd found each other. She knew his name, that put him in a somewhat good mood. His spring mood was rather good this season. It was then he realised she'd been scared -- the wobble in her voice. Oh well, Cry got over it. His lips twitched upwards, his eyes like the leaves starting to sprout in the forest. "What hurt you?" Well, a bear obviously, it seemed. It was clear she'd had a bear encounter and it was not good, alas he could try. He wondered if there was anyone else, other than the Arrowbella wolf who he'd not scented around much to his disappointment, who could teach him. It would come in useful for him to learn. RE: Slow your role, getta a hold don't melt - Minori - March 28, 2019 The giant creature said something addressing her that she couldn't understand and she studied him curiously. He seemed in better spirits, something that helped put her at ease especially when he made an amused sound and lowered his muzzle to greet her. Hold fast she did, the word trust repeating over and over in her mind. Her ears shifted back slightly on her head but she greeted him in return, sniffing around his muzzle. He asked a question and while it wasn't in the common tongue, she grasped the jist of it. "A bear. Much less...dignified than you" she admitted, throwing in the compliment. She was a warrior and her strength helped her get over the fear. Besides....if he wanted to harm her he definitely could have done so already. "Bärchen. What does that mean?" she asked him curiously. RE: Slow your role, getta a hold don't melt - Kovertol - March 28, 2019 His small, stubby ears swung to listen to her, trying to catch every syllable. Bear. He knew what that was. He wondered if he'd come across the very same one that hurt her. He wondered if he'd do battle with the Ursine; perhaps if it were male. He hadn't fought another Ursine for a long time.
Bärchen. She wanted to know the meaning? His brows furrowed, thinking hard to connect the words. To formulate the translation. "Little Bear." He instantly grinned, happy he'd done it. He was so damn smart. It suited her, too. The ferocity but also knowing when to be careful. Almost fearless -- to be purely fearless would mean a quick death. He grunted softly, inclining his head. He wanted to keep walking to view Shadewood in its Spring glory. RE: Slow your role, getta a hold don't melt - Minori - April 03, 2019 He seemed to pause, to calculate his words and she wondered just how much common tongue he knew. She waited and when he spoke the meaning she grinned, laughing softly. She liked it and figured it was a great compliment coming from a bear like Kovertol "Bärchen I am then. Thank you" she said. She hesitantly snuffled at his maw if he would let her and then stepped back "I will let you go then, it was good meeting you on better terms" she said kindly. RE: Slow your role, getta a hold don't melt - Kovertol - April 03, 2019 He nodded slowly, considering the sounds she made. This was hard, yet he seemed to piece together most of what she was saying. She was happy with the meeting, it was clear. He grunted in his approval, too, glad to have solidified the terms they lived harmoniously on.
Now for her mate. He lifted his head, inhaling the air before plodding off in his usual fashion of just leaving, but only because bears didn't have manners like that. Perhaps he'd find something to hunt, wake him up a bit as he was getting his appetite back. |
