Midar did not take his job of protecting Damien's mate and offspring lightly, and the longer they were away from the rest of the group, the more on edge he became. It only added to his tension that his own mate was just as exposed, but he would rather Alarian be here with him than up ahead with the first group where he wouldn't know for himself that he was okay. It was extra helpful that he was a healer and could help Nyx should anything go wrong with her pregnancy.
