mumps - that's a funny word - Aengus - April 01, 2019 okay, okay, okay, okay… so he’d figured out that the giant grey blob was his mom. it had only taken him like 30 minutes to get to this realization and half of that was because he saw the creamy red blob hogging down on the milk. this caused aengus to kick forward out of jealousy. that milk was his and he was a growing boy! how dare you take his sustenance when he was so small and weak? also, discovering that he could see non-distinct features and colors was kind of a shaking thing to have happen. wiggling forward, the boy cozied up to his mother and began to snort down on the milk like he was a cocaine fiend. he was so occupied with trying to get as much of it as he could that he didn’t realize he was drinking a little too fast. with a hiccup and a cough, aengus started to choke on the one thing in his life that had been consistent. RE: mumps - that's a funny word - Rannoch’s Ghost - April 11, 2019 Rannoch's experience with his second litter was much different than his first had been. With a reared litter under his belt, Rannoch felt as though he could spend less time fretting and more time enjoying the process as a whole. Despite his untroubled view of child-raising, there were still occasions in which caused him alarm—especially when it sounded like his children were choking on something "Aengus?" Rannoch asked, lifting his head at the sound of Aengus' discomfort. "You okay, bud?" he asked, knowing that his son wouldn't reply. A frown pressed onto his lips as Rannoch watched Aengus for a moment longer, wondering if the disturbance had passed. He was curled around his wife and children, keeping an eye on them as the rest of them napped—and thankfully, no more than a second away in case Aengus' troubles progressed. RE: mumps - that's a funny word - Aengus - April 15, 2019 um, no, dad... i'm fucking not okay! the milk was still sitting in the back of his throat like a swatch of creamy peanut-butter. this would have been great if he hadn't been so overzealous in his attempts to hog all of the food for himself. now, he was going to die. he could feel it in his nubbin limbs. there was nothing left on that earth for him. the one thing he had loved and relied on had betrayed him. with a dismal expression, aengus turned to his father and opened his mouth in a comical and frightening twist of his features. he sputtered again and coughed loudly, tongue lolling out the front of his mouth as if that would help. aengus tried to suck in air to compensate for the wet feeling in the back of his throat but this only caused him to cough harder and his eyes bulged. RE: mumps - that's a funny word - Rannoch’s Ghost - May 02, 2019 Rannoch's concerns were quickly addressed; Aengus was not okay. "It's okay, bud," he promised his son as he pushed himself onto all fours, "I got you." Rannoch then reached forward and began to gently pat Aengus' back. "Keep coughing," he encouraged, "We gotta get that nasty stuff out of you." RE: mumps - that's a funny word - Aengus - May 06, 2019 holy balls this was not a good time! aengus could feel his head getting lighter and lighter until his father scooted near him and began to apply some reinforcing pumps to his back. for a puppy who was full of milk and terrified that he was going to die, this was mostly successful in causing him to shit himself. the better news was that as soon as he had crapped his britches, the coughing died away and he was left with a peculiar feeling of emptiness. aengus wobbled forward and breathed heavily before pushing his nose into his father's paw and squeaking softly. RE: mumps - that's a funny word - Rannoch’s Ghost - May 19, 2019 Fecal matter didn't phase Rannoch like it used to. He had grown accustomed to the occasional blowout and was thankful that something had alleviated the situation. "There we are," Rannoch replied with evident relief, "Good job, my boy. You did it!" "Now com'ere," he added, leaning forward as he began to preen at Aengus' messy rear-end. "We gotta get you all cleaned up." RE: mumps - that's a funny word - Aengus - May 24, 2019 aengus was not pleased with all the manhandling. in fact, he was expressing his feelings in the form of loud wailing as his father attempted to pull him closer to clean him off. the little bull did everything he could to wriggle free of the larger man’s grasp, but he did not find himself very successful. instead of continuing his struggles, aengus was content to simply caterwaul until he had disturbed everyone else in the den. his tiny tail thrashed behind him and his jaws seemed to be stuck in a permanent screaming expression. RE: mumps - that's a funny word - Rannoch’s Ghost - May 28, 2019 Aengus' bath took twice the time that it usually did; Rannoch found joy in the mundanity of the task, knowing that his son would grow up quickly. "Somebody does not like his bath," he quipped to himself in between licks, "It's almost over, bud, I promise." When Rannoch's word had come to fruition, he pulled away with a smile. "See, that wasn't too bad," he said. "And now you're all good to go... just don't go and get dirty too soon," he warned. "Or we'll have to do this all over again." Somehow, Aengus seemed to comprehend what Rannoch has said. He flopped onto his side and sighed, obviously exhausted from the whole ordeal. Rannoch watched on with a smile, as Aengus snored; he was out like a light. "Sleep tight, bud," the leader whispered, and gently kissed his son's head. "They're be all sorts of excitement for you when you wake up." Hopefully, it wouldn't be the life-threatening kind, either. |
