Two Face

Chasing ducks was a good way to lose yourself, and a good way to get yourself lost. Standing in the funny smelling water Two Face wasn’t sure where to go from here. He had lost track of the loud water bird that led him to these wetlands. Two Face felt pretty thirsty he had chased the bird for some time. Dipping his head Two Face lapped at the water he stood in. the moment the brackish water touched his tongue Two Face realized something wasn’t right. As he stood there no longer enjoying a cool drink of water, but vomiting up what was obviously poison Two Face regretted the childish decision that led him here. Two Face didn’t raise his head till his stomach was empty of the devilish liquid that swished around his legs. How does anything survive here Two Face thought to himself.

Making slow progress through the bog Two Face felt his stomach rumbling. He wasn’t sure if the distress he felt was from the putrid fluid that he was wading through or if it was actually hunger. Either way Two Face didn’t see how a meal would hurt him. Luck was apparently finally fixing her gaze Two Face’s way. Because off in the distance, a whole raft of ducks. Two Face lowered himself and stalked toward the ducks. He knew it would be difficult to sneak up on the stupid water birds in their home territory but Two Face was bold enough to try. Two Face paused when he felt he was close enough to the ducks. He tensed the muscles in his hind legs and pushed off with all his might leaping at the ducks. Two Face only made it a few inches before he fell on his face.

Panic filled Two Face’s breast something was holding his back leg. Snapping at his trapped appendage Two Face pulled with all his might, but he was ultimately unable to free himself. Two Face looked around the panic now visible on his face. Turning towards the ducks HE called out for help. ” Hey help me a monster has my leg I can’t get free! I’m sorry about planning to eat you all!” At the sound of his yelling the ducks took flight the flock heading off in the direction of his packs home. ” You’re going to get help right!” Two Face thrashed in the water fighting to free himself from the grips of what ever had his leg. He would not go down without a fight, he could only hope the ducks got his message to someone in time.

RE: stop, drop, shut em down open up shop - Beckett - September 11, 2013

'What on Earth are those ducks screeching about?' Beckett thought to himself grumpily, padding through the dense wooded area at a casual pace. The older wolf hadn't gotten much sleep the night previous due to his wild goose chase involving a rumored human camp he was searching for. The little bastard who had given him the bad information was long gone by the time Beckett had made it back to camp. 'I swear if I find that guy I'm going to rip him a new one.' Stepping out of the forest into a clearing, his nose was hit with a musky stench; the smell of vomit and some other foul liquid. It obviously wasn't natural. But that wasn't important as his attentions were turned to another disturbance. The sound of water splashing and more water fowl beating their wings in a cacophony of sound.

A quick visual assessment had Beckett find the source of this commotion; A wolf was thrashing around in the stagnant waters just a few yards in front of him. Jogging up to the waterline for a better view, he could finally make out the features on this young wolf. He was much younger than Beckett, and had a rusty red coat. It kind of reminded the large wolf of his younger brother. Still thrashing about in the shallow water, Beckett barked to get his attention, "Hey hey HEY! Buddy! Relax! What the hell's up with all the racket? You got somethin' wrong with you or what?"

sweet our long awaited thread

Two Face

Looking to the heavens Two Face silently thanked the ducks for their swift action. Two Face continued to try and extract his leg from the slimy creature that had hold of it. As he turned to the gray wolf Two Face had a hard time hiding the tears of relief welling up in his eyes. He was over joyed someone showed up to help him but he didn’t want this newcomer to be captured by the bog beast as well.

”I’m glad the ducks got to you in time brother wolf.” Two Face hardened his features as he stared at the old gray wolf. ”I’m sure they informed you of my plight, but I now realize that anyone who ventures in to save me may be captured by the water creature as well.” Looking down to struggle at whatever had hold of his leg Two Face couldn’t help but kick himself again. He couldn’t help but wonder how many Windwalkers in the history of the Dragonwatchers have ended their stories in such an ignoble way. Two Face turned his head back to the gray wolf who had selflessly been led to him by the gallant ducks. ” I have but one request friend wolf, journey to the Blacktail Deer Plateau and seek out Koontz. Please tell her that Two Face is sorry he couldn’t live up to her expectations.”

Try as he might Two Face couldn’t stop the mourn filled howl from escaping his lips, It voiced all his regrets. Not living up to what Koontz saw in him, never finishing things with Bloody Galoot, never settling down and having a litter of his own, never finding out where he came from or his true name. The thought of leaving this world with so many things left undone made Two Face sick to his stomach. Looking down at his trapped leg Two Face’s heart filled with a rage, and he began to pull away from the monster with a new found strength. One last try one last go at not allowing this swamp thing to get the better of him. Two Face strained with all his might and just when he was ready to lose all hope his leg popped free.

Over joyed at his freedom Two face leaped from the water and barked from joy. ” I did it I’m not going to die in the smelly water!” Two Face ran towards the gray Wolf over joyed that he had escaped the clutches of the bog beast. When he reached the Gray wolf Two Face had every intention of drowning him in gratitude for … he didn’t know what, but he knew the gray wolf would be drowned in gratitude. Only feet from dry land Two Face fell face first in to the foul water. He got to his feet and tugged at his back left leg, unable to move Two Face stared at the old wolf tears welling up in his eyes. I’m sorry friend wolf I’ve allowed the swamp beast to once again take me prisoner. A fool like me doesn’t deserve the honor, but I beg you to still deliver my message to my Alpha.”
