and nothing breaks like a heart - Ketzia - April 25, 2019 The horizon spun the brilliant colors of gold and pink of dusk, and even as the ivory sylph paused to take in what should have been a breathtaking sight, it brought nothing more than further misery as another day passed and her packman remained missing. Thorn hadn’t been seen in days—his trail left cold, and with his presence gone, Diaspora felt cold as well. An ear splayed back as a howl sounded in the distance—unfamiliar to her, and in that moment, unwelcome. Her eyes strayed from the endless sky, sweeping over the crags and grounds of the Sunspire. These mountains had once felt infinite with opportunity—potential. Now, they simply felt empty, and the trophy she had thought Diaspora held tarnished. Somehow, it had ended up like all of the other homes she had tried to settle to. The thought alone caused the ache in her throat to magnify as she attempted to steer her emotions. Finally, as the moments passed and the sun continued to sink, signaling that her comrade would not be found this day, the she-wolf tilted her own muzzle back, allowing her own song to echo across the mountains—calling for him. For one of the wolves she had considered a solid presence in her life. Where are you, Thorn? RE: and nothing breaks like a heart - Zane - May 10, 2019 Zane was pretty damn impressed. Okay mom, maybe you weren't shitting when you talked about these mountains. He'd left Imalan somewhere along the line, because c'mon bro sometimes a dude has to have the space to make his own mark. In other words; chicks. He was doin his brother a favor; Zane was a hot piece of ass and with him around, no way Imaran would have ever had a chance. Ohoho, speaking of. A song, sad and lovely, echoed around the male and he paused, his tail lifting as a cocky smile lit up his lips. Ohhhh shit. Sad chicks were the best. Not only were they easier, but they were usually alone. Today might be his lucky day. Time to answer that fuckin siren song. I'll be your thorn, sweetheart. RE: and nothing breaks like a heart - Ketzia - May 12, 2019 Her song faded—one second, two seconds. The silence stretched from heart-wrenching seconds to at least a minute, and she felt the quake of grief pull at her. Thorn was simply gone—there would be no denying it, and she could not believe the loyal wolf had left without a goodbye. Something had happened—and the towering mountains had hidden the mystery of his disappearance well. The response she longed for was not what she received—a cocky voice rang out, causing her to pause in stolen hope for a moment, before realizing she absolutely did not recognize the other. A frown clouded her features momentarily before replaced with considered calculation. Chuffing in gentle annoyance to herself, the slender dove began to seek out the rather brazen creature that goaded her. RE: and nothing breaks like a heart - Zane - May 13, 2019 Oh ho ho, he was coming for her too, and it was inevitable that eventually they'd meet in the middle. When he caught sight of the wolf he assumed made the call, he certainly wasn't disappointed. He-llo. Couldn't help but hear you calling, and I figured you might be lookin for something,he said, stepping with a swagger and a smirk. And I'm here to let you know, that something is me.She could hardly resist a compliment like that. RE: and nothing breaks like a heart - Ketzia - June 05, 2019 Her would be ‘Thorn’ finally came to view—not the stark black that could rival the night sky, but a varying silver and bronze with haunting eyes. Of course, it wasn’t his good looks the woman focused upon, her sharp gaze studying him with open scrutiny—it was his mannerism. HIs embellished greeting left no further doubt that he was quite the fan of himself, and Ketzia took a pause in her reaction to him. There was a twitch in her jaw as if the debate to take her misery out upon him would leave satisfaction. An intense message that she was not a woman to be trifled with, despite the males of her past seemed to think. It would be foolish to pick a fight with an unknown stranger though… especially when she was still weakened from her previous fall. One she would not have survived without Thorn. Her heart clenched. Instead, the facade of what was familiar to her wove upon her exotic features. Demurely, the honeyed wolf made to close the distance between them, her eyes tracing his body with a shine of appreciation as her nose tipped up in the air, placing his scent to memory. Ketzia had other ways to deal with men. “Is it?” She paused, her smoky voice filling the mountain air. “Show me.” RE: and nothing breaks like a heart - Zane - June 12, 2019 Zane was definitely picking up what she was selling and definitely not observant enough to realize it wasn't actually for offer. He saw what he wanted, and what he wanted was for what she was saying to be genuine. Normally chicks like you want dinner first, but I like a girl who knows what she's lookin at,he replied, his grin wide. You got it babe. He'd show her as many things as she wanted to see and probably a few new ones. He was a goddamn all star when it came to bangin - or so he figured. Never had any complaints so far. |
