Summer has not yet been here though my days are long - Rosalyn - May 18, 2019

Meant to post this earlier and got caught up! set for shortly after the meeting.  Feel free to join if you want to play with the fam!

The following day's events weighed on her slightly, in the way impending conflict always does, but she was confident rousting the girl wouldn't take much.  Easy in, easy out, and away.  Until then, she had promised the children the beach, and she would deliver.

They were old enough now to meet the pack.  Rosalyn herded @Marisol, @Scarab, @Clementine, @Nieve, and @Reyes out with the help of @Erzulie and set them up on the beach, allowing them to frolic under the watchful eyes of their mothers.  She spoke with them of the dangers of the water, both the tides and the creatures that lurked.  Now she watched hawkishly, strolling slowly right near the waterline.

She spotted a crab that was making for Marisol and picked up her pase, swooping over to bat it sideways with a paw.  Look!  These are good food, though they will pinch if you let them.  She overturned it, putting the pinchers on better display for any of the pups who had bothered to come over as it fought to right itself.

RE: Summer has not yet been here though my days are long - Reyes (Ghost) - May 20, 2019

He did not want to leave the den. The boy's mewling and undignified wiggles were protest enough, he thought, but the mothers still managed to corral all the children on to the dusty sand-covered world in the dreaded outside no matter how much Reyes said no. He was placed down among the litter of bodies and was left blinking at the too-bright world around him; when he spotted Rosalyn patrolling along the sun-baked edge where forgotten weeds lined scattered stones, he borked and called for her. When that didn't work he hoisted himself to his paws and tawdled after her without care for his siblings or any of his surroundings - resulting in the babe placing his paws on the very hot sand and yelping in surprise when it sagged beneath his weight. The sand rolled away from him and he sank back with a pout, nursing at his toes and glaring moodily at the ground.

phone migraine post
She almost laughed at how her similar colored brother was rather unhappy with the situation they were in. Each child huddled together as they had their first real look outside the safety of their dark and secluded home, no one had any idea of what to do. Their reddish colored mom was the one to parade them out, she seemed more boisterous compared to their pale mama. This caused the little sun spot to tilt her head in curiousity before Reyes decided to take the first steps, even though it was he who did not want to wake and leave the den.

It was the yelp that had her moving forward, winding herself around him as if she was a feline rather than a canine. If he let her she could give his sore paws a look before licking them to help sooth his pain, only then would she perk at her mom's words. Looking curiously at the overturned crab.

what on earth was that thing?

others are still welcome to pop in!

Rosalyn did laugh a bit as Reyes pouted.  It seemed their little prince was not as enamored with the world outside as his siblings.  She kept a careful watch on Nieve, who seemed captivated by the water, but Marisol was quick to go to her brother.

The wet sand is cool.  Just do not go too far out.  The tide can pull. She took a step onto the darker sand to demonstrate and felt the water gently lap against her paws.  There were a good many to keep corralled but with both she and Erzulie there, they should be able to keep them from drifting too far into the curious water.

He hastened to follow his mother to the cool sand, then plonked himself down on his belly and shoved his limbs out. Sand gathered sloppily across his forearms in the process. It was slick and wet, making a low suckling noise as it lodged along his sides. Reyes was happiest there in the sludge, watching his mother and cooling down.

with Marisol out we can either archive or go, but I'm ok wrapping here.  Also I dropped a thread last time wow oops

Rosalyn smiled as Reyes settled in in the sand, then turned to Marisol, who was looking at the crab.  They pinch with these claws, she said, waving her nose in the air to demonstrate as the crab fought to both snap her and right itself.  But they are good to eat.  You just must attack from beneath, the end with no pinchers.  She grabbed the crab in her teeth and, with one strong bite, the shell was cracked and the creature finished.   She set it down, then invited Marisol to investigate.  The others gathered too.  It was good to have them see the fare the sea would provide them.
