Lose sleep over wealth, it's not healthy - Rowan - June 02, 2019

Development update: Transitional

His eyes had opened to reveal their temporary blue to the world, yet to him, the world revealed much more. He could see the Feeder, @Moonshadow. The Fluffy, @Istoira, similar in colour -- from what he could make out.
He whined loudly to them, demanding attention. He watched their noses and saw them move closer, receiving a poorly placed swat of a paw in protest.

Today though, later than his siblings, he'd walk like them. He'd been rather content scooting around like a half-melted ice cube but he didn't want to be left behind. He had to be better! He got his back legs under him, his stumpy tail wagging in the air and his front paws trapped under him.
How did he get up...? He flopped to his side and tried again, growling to his sister, @Moonshine, who came to investigate him. He rolled up and just stood. Magic right? Though, as he went to bump his sister him promptly fell down again.
This will be a lot of work.

Her pups seemed to get restless in the days that followed and her attention was brought to Rowan who seemed to call out to her. Moonshadow watched as he attempted to get up and walk and she smiled.

She wanted to help him but decided against it as he would have to learn how to eventually. That’s when she noticed his eyes open.

Moonshadow went towards her pile of pups and nudged Rowan affectionately as she noticed him fall.

His mother's nose pressed to him, allowing him to lick her with returned affection. With renewed vigor and encouragement from his mother, he stood and took his first real steps towards her. His tail wagged above his hip as he started moving around the den, exploring more. This was fun!

The soft dirt and bedding cushioned any mishaps he had and he could investigate his siblings with cheeky nips to them that was greeted with a growl and whimper which ignited his playful side.
He looked to his mother, her kind face, before turning to the light. He moved forward with purpose, wanting to explore the light.

Moonshadow kept close to her curious little pup as he began to venture to the entrances of the den. However she let him explore, she would not allow them to leave the den just yet.

She was proud that he was able to stay steady on his feet for so long.

He felt his mother scooting behind him, keeping close. Would she dare stop him?
He made to turn around and protest her fretting, but he'd not really got the hang of turning yet. He flopped to his side with a whimper, his legs beetling in the air, peddling to try and get back up.

He whined, trying his best, throwing himself about on the floor like a three year old in a tantrum. After a few hours (Or so it seemed. In reality, he was there for 20 seconds.)he managed to right himself onto his belly again, looking up to his mother.

She couldn’t help but chuckle at his attempts to show defiance. But it failed as he turned his body and fell. As she was on her way to help he managed to figure it out himself and all she could do was nudge her pup, Checking if he was okay.

He arched into her comforting touch. Safety. Perhaps it was better he didn't explore today. But for sure, once he'd learnt to walk better he'd be running!
He tried to nip his mother, wanting to expend some energy with paly. Alas, his jaws weren't large enough and he only managed to press his open mouth to her muzzle, his tail wagging.

He seemed to finally give up on his attempts to exit and seemed to be content with it as he relaxed. As much as her pups were active they sure were cute.

Moonshadow sometimes mes wondered if her mother felt love towards her siblings. These thoughts were short lived as her little one seemed to want to play but didn’t do much.

He wandered to his siblings and started to do battle with them, growling and attempting to nip them, using his paws to bat at them.
After a while, he grew tired again and went to flop at his mother's side, curling into her warmth, squeaking quietly with the exhaustion and promptly fell asleep to dream about running; subsequently, his legs peddled the air in a comical fashion.
