Splish Splash I was Taking A Bath - Reiko - June 03, 2019

Water flew in every direction as the young female dipped herself into the water and shook herself vigorously to get rid of any buried in dirt. Dripping from head to toe, she was being very thorough in cleaning herself today to bring back that snowy shine that she was oh so well known for.

Every now and then a large trout would swim by, quickly as to not be seen by the bathing predator. Reiko paid them no mind. She wasn't hungry at the moment after all. Her attention was solely on cleaning herself. These lands were filthy in comparison to her snow capped home, where dirt was buried so deep that rarely anyone got dirty unless you were eating.

Was she a germaphobe that didn't enjoy getting dirty? Not at all. Once she left home and saw some mud, by golly the girl jumped in and had a grand ol time. This was just her natural routine. Get clean, so she may get dirty later! A clean coat is a healthy coat after all. She hummed and sang softly to herself as water continued to splash every now and then, only to pause when she licked certain areas, nibbling with her front teeth on spots that were too tough to just soak.

RE: Splish Splash I was Taking A Bath - Jakoul - June 03, 2019

thank you for starting <3

It was not often (see: never) that she left the woods of Blackfeather. The woods had everything she longed for. Shelter, food, company. She did not yearn for more than the basics. Although she knew deep down that she would be useless if she never stretched her legs. To stay cooped up within the woods would not reflect well on her promise to keep watch.

She was presented with a chance to make herself useful, the splashing up ahead signaling that she was perhaps not as alone as she thought. A pale figure (a typically familiar sight but outside of Blackfeather it felt foreign) seemed to be in the middle of grooming.

Tactless as ever, she stood down stream and watched the stranger.

As she was bathing, something caught her eye - a black figure in the water just a little ways down the stream. Heeey! She called out happily, water dripping down every curve of her face and body. Did you come to bathe too?! The water is nice and cool! Her tail swayed too and fro behind her, heavy from water but unstoppable none the less.

Wait. her whole body froze as she thought of something, even a pensive look on her face took control of her smile before she cheekily grinned, apologetically so. Am I scaring away your fish?

RE: Splish Splash I was Taking A Bath - Jakoul - June 03, 2019

Her ears flipped towards the sky as the voice called out. Loud and eager, a contrast to the low energy greetings that transpired back home. She blankly stared for a few moments with wonderment. The stranger seemed to mean no harm but what did she say? Before she responded there were more words from the pale stranger.

Not mine. Was all that arrived when she finally spoke. She did not own the river and it was not Blackfeather land. Whatever flowed beneath the surface of the creek was not for Jakoul to claim. Silence would fall once more as she gently moved into the water, slowly getting closer to the stranger. She would test the waters literally and figuratively.

I...help? She asked with a raised brow. Did the stranger require assistance somehow? She required some sort of direction for her afternoon.

RE: Splish Splash I was Taking A Bath - Reiko - June 03, 2019

Help? Tilting her head to one side, she was a little confused about the question the stranger had asked. Pursing her lips she thought for a moment. If you want to help This time she bounded through the water toward the dark female, long pointed legs easily piercing the water as she landed, splashing as she moved until they were only perhaps a wolf length away from each other.

Are you hungry? If we work together, we can catch a fish or two! I can never do it alone, but with the two of us, it'll be a delicious treat! She was quite the crummy fisher after all. They were such a delicious treat whenever she could get her teeth on one.

She watched as the other bounced and bounded through the water, droplets flying every which way. Mesmerized was the best way to describe the look on her face. There was something rather beautiful about the whole scene.

The lithe Merei almost missed the words that had been spoken by the pale female with the enchantment that had swept over her. Something about hunger, fish, two of them. It was hard for her to track everything with the fast pace of conversation but Jakoul liked to think she gathered the gist of it. Her head bobbed in agreement, happy to accompany the stranger on this aquatic hunt.

RE: Splish Splash I was Taking A Bath - Reiko - June 09, 2019

No words were exchanged after, but it was okay, Reiko could talk enough for the both of them if she was being honest. She had this knack for filling silence with words unless the situation called for otherwise. Even if she was just talking to herself. Eventually something would strike up a conversation is how she saw the situation.

Okay! Do you mind me pushing you into position? She asked before placing a paw on the individual to push her into place on the side of the river - only if she was given permission to, otherwise she would ask for her to stand where Reiko stood (you can pick whichever option!).

You wait here, and I will go up stream and scare a BUNCH of them into your direction. All you have to do is snatch up as many as you can and throw them onto shore. Once again she waited for a response from the darker female before trotting up stream, out of sight and far enough up stream to gather as many fish as possible to scare toward the nameless female.

They would feast tonight hopefully, bellies full of fish. If she could catch at least 2 fish they would be off pretty well, even one would be good enough. Either way, she was excited to see what would happen at the end of their attempts. Once she was high enough up the stream, Reiko jumped into the water where she saw a clearing behind a group of fish, splashing and jumping trying to herd as many as possible down stream, zigzagging to discourage them from back tracking behind her.

RE: Splish Splash I was Taking A Bath - Jakoul - July 03, 2019

wehhh sorry for the wait x:
rolls for fish catch (evens are success) — all tries here.

The push was met with little resistance as the Blackfeather wolf moved into place. The instructions, although busy with words to her primal mind, were clear enough. She would be the catcher while her partner herded the creatures down stream. Jakoul was not well versed in aquatic hunting but she could see its similarities to the land.

The first fish was little but a blur and somehow she had managed to strike fast enough. Jaws clamped hard into the scaly creature, puncture wounds to help end it. The taste was not one she appreciated enough so she wasted no time tossing her head to throw the fish onto shore where it would hopefully be appreciated by her partner later.

There were plenty more left, a constant hurried flash of scales underneath the water's frantic ripples. Mesmerized by the waters left her a bit slow the second time around. There was disappointment with the sting of water flooding her lungs as she had hastily aimed for something.

One last plunge into the waters would have her find success again. It squirmed — wiggled — far more than the previous one. In her attempts to miss being hit by the flailing body, she dropped it on the shore and watched as it anxiously floundered.
