sweet nothing - Isilmë - June 13, 2019 it's early dawn, and Isi is parked at the closest border. she's come to the realization that perhaps her last attempt at border guarding was less than perfect, and so seeks to replicate her only role model in the matter - her mother. waiting for some intruder is getting boring, but practicing on empty air sounds stupid. finally, thankfully, a sparrow perches on a sapling just outside the borderline, and she puffs out her chest and eyes it. "hi! this die'spor." good start! an excellent way to ease into it and the sparrow looks enthralled by her performance so far. "what want?" she stops, considering. that doesn't sound like her mother would say it - aure was soft and warm and polite. the sparrow hops higher into the sapling, a clear sign she's done wrong. "please what bring Die'spor?" she tries again, and this time it sounds right. she doesn't need sparrow anymore, and so yips in its direction until it takes flight, retreats, and waits for some other creature to interrupt the un-crossable line that is Diaspora's border, now that she's on the job. RE: sweet nothing - Sadiq - June 16, 2019 The petit words caught his attention as he was making his rounds for the day. He had thought of stopping to see Takiyok or perhaps Kazimir and see how they were doing. But he had a routine he stuck to, and this was the first step. His task to ensure the integrity of the territory against predators was a serious duty that he took to heart. Just like everything else in his life, he took it very seriously. Although the sight of the pup establishing her authority over a bird was entertaining. Ever so slightly his lips twitched, and the semblance of a smile settled on Sadiq’s expression. Once she had successfully completed her montage, Sadiq cleared his throat. He had only seen the girl in passing and was happy for the chance to introduce himself. Practice his language skills, just as she was practicing her patrolling skills. RE: sweet nothing - Isilmë - August 06, 2019 the sound a someone clearing their throat had the girl spin wildly towards the origin of the sound, blinking as she set eyes upon a stranger. she didn't think she was quite ready for stranger wolves at the border, yet, but a moment later recognition bloomed and she knew the man to be a packmate. this made her bolder, and she approached a little nearer, stopping a distance away. "hi! who?" she chirped, wondering if he'd seen her practicing and was impressed. he should be. RE: sweet nothing - Sadiq - August 12, 2019 The smile grew at her boldness, of course his connection to the pack would help dissuade any fear, Sadiq could feel a warmth in his chest. Oh how he loved children. "I'm Sadiq. Who are you?" Jutting out his nose, and lifting his paw to reference the little girl. He was sure her name started with an 'i'? Or was it an 'e'? He couldn't remember, but Sadiq was sure the girl would enlighten him. RE: sweet nothing - Isilmë - August 29, 2019 "hi sad!" she pipped up, automatically shortening it as she did to all the name's she'd come to learn; the length of her family's names had demanded it, and now it was habit. "I'm Isi. I'm patrolling," she announces, stressing the word as if it's some great and noble undertaking, which in her mind, it surely is. idea pops into her mind, and she asks, "come with?" together, they might be better at protecting diaspora from anything and everything that may want to cross their border. RE: sweet nothing - Sadiq - August 29, 2019 Ah yes Isilmë, or Isi as she liked to be called. “You are doing a great job.” Sadiq smiled down at her and nodded his head quickly. “Sure” He let her lead the way, seeing as this had been her adventure, he didn’t want to ruing her party. Every once in a while, the man would stop to sniff a tree, or a rock, or the grass. Ensuring that Mahler and Stigmata’s ( ☹ ) scent was still strong at the edge of the territory. RE: sweet nothing - Isilmë - September 02, 2019 smile broke her countenance at those words, and she beamed up at Sadiq, who she decided that she liked. for a while, they moved in relative silence, Isi occasionally babbling something at him that she deemed important on their patrol. she pauses to sniff at a scent that is strong, musky, and follows the border for a short time before veering away. "hi Sad?" she calls, "what's this?" her muzzle wrinkles and her expression grows quite serious; the scent is a day or two old, but to her, it seems fresh. RE: sweet nothing - Sadiq - September 08, 2019 not sure you had a specific scent in mind, hope this works :)
She had gotten ahead of him, her question carrying the short distance to his ears. They had veered away from the border slightly, curious at to what she had found, Sadiq dipped his head. Crinkling his nose at the scent that greeted him. “Qavvik.” He spoke softly to himself, trying to think of the common name for them. “Hmmm? I believe they are called Wolverines.” If he remember his lessons form Takiyok properly, although they were aggressive, this one seemed to have moved on in the last few days. Sadiq wasn’t all that worried, but he was a little more vigilant now. “Good find Isi.” He waited to see what she would do next, whether she had questions or wished to continue on their patrol. Either way, he wouldn’t let he follow this particular scent any longer. RE: sweet nothing - Isilmë - October 11, 2019 they putter around a while longer, Isi pointing out the odd scent, or marker, or menial thing, and Sadiq sating her curiosity. when she tires, deciding that the borders must be safe enough for today, they pair part ways. |
