SET: June 16th 2019 at midday.

This time it isn't a fresh body that has been left behind, and not even the crows care to seek it out. The offering is smaller this time. Something carried over many miles only to be discarded, scattered. The red rocks of the mesa are particularly striking beneath the midday sun, but the only thing that would account for the carmine of the clay is blood, and it stagnates across the cliff face, painting the rocks like a Pollock. The spatter appears to be minimal but should anyone inspect the mess, they'll find a point of collision on a slab of granite further down the slope — and just beyond that, the dome of a skull with ragged skin hanging from gaunt cheeks, sunken eyes. At one time this was a lone wolf — but now, it is nothing but a bodiless mess, grinning and staring in to the blue abyss of the sky.

RE: All is a riddle. - Athanasius - June 14, 2019

He was not a scavenger. He preferred the taste that came from freshly killed corpses. Even if he was starving he would reject the filth that was a decaying body. But he was often drawn to death regardless of the state of the body. Death brought scavengers, which were easy pickings for him.

He found the state of the corpse — currently no more than a grinning skeleton with some skin still attached — intriguing. The fur and size of the body indicated that this body once belonged to a wolf. It was too old to determine sex or creed. Even if he might have known the wolf, he would not have recognized it from this cadaver.
