He crossed back over the borders of home long after the sun had set on the creek. He was exhausted from his trip, having kept an arduous pace in order to limit his time away as much as was possible. He wanted to check in with everyone and make sure things had run smoothly while he was gone, but it would have to wait until morning. For now, he made his way to the den to check on his mate, his children, and Rosalie. He had worried constantly while he was gone, and he wanted nothing more than to snuggle in with his family and sleep for a little while before he had to get up and resume his alpha duties.
