As he stood there in the plains, staring at the looming mountain in the distance, he realized this was a bad idea. Perhaps he should have stuck on the edge of these lands where the ocean met the earth. It was far better out there anyway save for the sand that got stuck in his coat. He could always not scale the mountain, perhaps move along its edge south or north. Maybe if he looked enough he'd get lucky and find a passage way to the other side. One could hope.
He decided to head south first although his eyes were more trained on the mountain he moved along by instead of the path in front of him. Not the smartest move.
