no one wearing a crown - Scarab - July 19, 2019 the grotto has become a frequent haunt of scarab's, especially as he manages to finish relocating his entire menagerie to the secluded and tucked away cavern he found off one of the grotto's many chambers. sometimes he adds new finds to it and other times he pays it a visit to inspect his collection with a clinical eye wanting to be sure that no one has disturbed it; for though he doubts his siblings care enough to tail him all the way down here he doesn't entirely trust them. when scarab finally emerges from the grotto he makes a slow blink of surprise. the afternoon: once so bright with burning sunshine has given away to the softer illumination of the moon as the sky paints itself in the velvety swirls of night. rich navy blue sky greets him alongside the soft, pale sugary moonbeams. scarab hadn't realized that he spent quite so long down in the bowels of the sound but then again time was still a bit of an abstract concept to him ...and if he had a curfew when he was expected back in the rendezvous den, well, he hadn't been paying attention to it. instead, he peers heavenward with a soft, fond smile and stretches languidly: clearly in no hurry. RE: no one wearing a crown - Clementine - July 20, 2019 the night is not her favourite time to haunt the Sound, but this night sleep is fleeting and evasive, and she sees no alternative save to creep away from her siblings. the very early morning is her favourite time, the fraction of night when day only barely begins to creep above the sky and for a moment, she is the only creature stirring. then all at once the world wakes around her, and the night slips away easily, like the crabs that vanish just as soon as she unearths them from beneath the rocks lining the beach. "scarab!" she calls softly when she sees him, having not exactly noticed him missing when she'd slipped out but glad to see him here all the same. gone are the days of her fixating on a single sibling and avoiding the rest, now it is only the rest of the pack she actively avoids. RE: no one wearing a crown - Scarab - July 27, 2019 scarab's appreciation of the velveteen night sky littered with winking stars is cut short by the voice of one of the stars of his life calling out for him. his ears cup forth atop his skull and his head lowers, accompanied by the sweep of his lapis lazuli gaze as he searches for his sister in the illumination of sugary moonbeams. it is easy to find her and he offers her an affectionate chuff as she draws nearer. clem,he rumbles the nickname with muted surprise. as it stood, he thought he was the only one awake and out n' about at this time but oddly, he is not disappointed to realize that he was wrong. for a moment scarab considers asking her if she was looking for him but that sounds horrendously arrogant, even to him, and he supposes if the suns of his life were worrying about him ( or aware he was out this late ) they would've came themselves instead of sending a sibling. what're you doing out here this late?he asks instead, curiosity piqued and unfettered. |
