if all our life is but a dream - Old One - July 20, 2019

She stretches out with a soft whine, comfortable where she's settled among the soft grass of the meadow. She'd wandered farther from Eastwood than she typically does, searching for the solitude she so desperately needs — and the last few hours have been utter bliss. If a bit... lonely, ironically enough. She reclines further, head resting near a patch of flowers while her tail thumps lazily behind her. Despite her best efforts to keep her thoughts firmly away from others, she can't help but wonder what Eastwood is doing right now. Perhaps hating her for leaving him on his own so often.

Man, where the heck is he?

Joe doesn’t know. He wandered, out of curiosity, really, and sort of regrets doing so. It’s weird being on his own for so long. Spiritlight Falls was the Bomb when it came to interactions. He loved being tackled by many of Alessia’s mini siblings, and now he’s starting to feel lonely himself.

That’s why he cannot resist getting excited to see someone else occupying the meadow.

Ohh! Hey, dude! What are you doin’? He greets enthusiastically—tail wag and big grin.

She notices the strange male long before he notices her, and sits up reluctantly as he nears. He seems to catch sight of her after a bit, greeting her loudly before she can say anything, and she finds herself stiffening in response. What did you call me? She asks, accent thickening slightly with the last few words. She masks her annoyance well otherwise, resisting the urge to tighten her teeth together as she waits for his response. Perhaps it is only a misunderstanding, she reasons to herself, or a case of mistaken identity. But the word sounds so distinctly blunt and ugly to her that she cannot help assuming the worst, regardless of the stranger's demeanor.

Well, he’s confused to say the least. Maybe she’s like… the dude at Alessia’s pack? She does have an accent of sorts, though speaks the common language pretty well! Joe stays happy as could be.

‘Dude’, y’know, like… ‘friend’, except I guess we aren’t really friends since we just met, but I sure hope we could become friends. Or y’know, at least get along. That’d be cool.

Fortunately he has enough respect for other’s personal boundaries that he stops a good bit away, not wanting to ruffle any feathers! Though it seems he may already have.
