Their own number - Arbiter - July 26, 2019

She had to make sure that @Terance had a good plan to keep the trio of troublemakers occupied before she set off on her venture.  They did need some more members, so it was in their best interests if they went and tried.  They needed the pack to live, and it couldn't do so just out of Arbiter's spite alone.  They could try, though.  At least if it all went sour, her children were growing and probably out of obvious danger.

As she walked along today, it seemed this river was always a bit of a mess, despite the rather boring weather now.  Good to know, even though she wasn't particularly keen to go explore its depths.  She wasn't the biggest fan of being drenched in the unknown, and it would probably hamper her exploration if she was wandering along being damp and unkempt.  She wanted to make a good impression on those who were wandering along, and didn't think that would get the message across.  No, she needed to be a message of strength and opportunity.  Arbiter paused, scanning the horizon.  Surely there had to be someone out here...  If not, at least perhaps she could bring home some food for the little piranhas.

RE: Their own number - RIP Wintersbane - July 27, 2019

the water of the snaking river whose bank that panther followed was ...unattractive, to say the least. truth be told, it looked downright repulsive. given the choice between dying of dehydration and drinking the murkwater panther is fairly certain he would choose dying before he drank it. though the perk of what appears to be fertile banks — teeming with lush flora the colors of icing green and candy flowers that smell just as sweet — does not necessarily outweigh the fact that he has mentally declared the murky river itself as undrinkable.

the scents of minks and raccoons hang heavy over the flower perfumes and it is one of these creatures that he is pursuit of as he comes across the scent of another. steps slow to a cautious halt and he draws in a deep breath, analyzing the scent with careful consideration. female. pack wolf.

panther weighs his options. though the wounds on his neck and throat have healed to ugly pink scars and his vocal chords have improved as they heal ( though he hasn't been practicing ) he still remains unaware of everything that happened and who he was prior to waking up after The Incident. he's faces and readily accepts that he might never know ...but cannot deny that it might present a challenge to those in the wilds that knew him prior. regardless, their paths are about to cross and given that he has little time to make a smooth get-a-way without being caught, glacial gaze studies her clinically as she materializes into his view and he lets out a raw amiable chuff. it's rough sounding and he can't help the visible cringe that flits across his features.

The wind was not in Arbiter's favor, so most of the information she was getting was based on sight.  Yet another poor wolf that was pretty screwed up for one reason or another.  Not a familiar face to her, either.  But did that mean that he was a possible recruit unless the wind shifted and revealed he reeked of another pack.  It would be unfortunate, surely, but for now it was just blurry hints, nothing distinct.

Arbiter's observation of him was also meticulous.  When he'd called her attention, she'd redirected her path, moving calmly as she did, stopping when it was a comfortable distance -- reasonable to talk, but he was still a stranger and obviously someone had been mightily pissed at him at some point.  Hell, sounded like it even was messing with his voice.  Whatever.  She'd find out how bad soon enough, right?  At least she had some sort of vague experience just trying to   She dipped her head, Good day.  I assume you're not here for pristine water.
