Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago - Rosencrantz - July 31, 2019 73°, currently it is drizzling rain and set during the evening. Located in wheeling gull isle, | ooc notes: rolled a dice 1 - 100 for damage, Rose gained 89 damage! | tagging: @Rhællaa for pack formation thread! Rose defending the island from hostile locals!
On his routine for solidifying the borders of Aristos - Rose came across something beyond dangerous. Teeth clashing with blubber, tusks against fur and skin, blood-spattered against the white sandy beach. Powerful legs continued to push him forward toward the attacking beast, kicking up sand in clumps as the drizzling rain moistened the beach and the battling duo. Claws gripping the thick hide of the walrus while fangs rip and tore whatever he could grasp, the thick blubber proved to be a fantastic armor against the smaller wolf - but with agility and tenacity on his side, Rose was confident in his ability to chip away at the fat monster. Every shake and roll from the walrus proved to be more troublesome as the fight continued, the battle for claim over the beach. Over the island. Clawing paws continued to find new footholds as he continued to struggle to remain on the beast's back. Already he had a tusk hit him in the thigh, oozing blood stained his right side where the beast had landed a hit on the silver knight. Finally, the tusked foe roared in pain as Rose hit his mark, with teeth in the beast's neck, his claws found their mark on its face as they dug into one of the eyes of the beast. With intense pain coursing through its body, the intense quake and shake finally shook off the alabaster knight, roughly finding his footing on the ground as thick paws dug into the moist soil. Intense glare staring down the walrus as it tried to shake off the pain, while Rose himself, struggled to find his breath again. With sides stinging in pain, the blood trickling down his leg, they were in the final stretch now. RE: Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago - Connor - July 31, 2019 *busts down door*
The cinnamon man had been roaming the borders of Aristos, he had checked everything a million times over, but with every new scout, he found something new, like strange rocks, or new creatures that Aristos would be neighboring. Connor was starting to get used to the island and its quirks, though he would always prefer the mountains any day. He can admit, he has a bias, but everyone does, he wouldn't be the type to start complaining about how this wasn't like his homeland. The muscular man padded on the sand, it was giving in under his weight for it was raining, Connor's fear was starting to prickle up and swirl within him, storms were taken seriously in the mountains because they can cause great damage. However, he was always equipped for the worst since that's what his mountain pack has trained him for, for instance, snow was something he was an expert at. But something was off, there was a strange feeling arousing in his chest, in fact, the fear of flooding seemed to be wiped from his memory for something else was amidst. Connor stop where he was, his instincts told him to listen for something off to which he obeyed, and unfortunately, this weird feeling turned out to be something worse than Connor initially thought. With his head craned up, he quickened his pace to where the trouble was, and his senses had led him to what one of his greatest fears was, a packmate that was being attacked by a strange wild animal. But this animal was unknown to Connor, it was fat and had large fangs sticking out of it, and no paws to speak of, only flippers. This creature was attacking Rosencrantz, someone who he had just met, and while the white titan was trying his best, it was of no avail, he was bleeding intensely from the thigh, which would slow him down. This triggered Connor's protective instincts as he ripped open his muzzle to reveal hidden sharp fangs, his coal tipped ears pinned on his head and his back fur rose is aggregation. He wasted no time, Connor sprang into action with a bolting start, his paws scooped up mounds of sand as his muscular body charged to where the beast was with his emerald gaze wild with fire. This was rare for anyone to see of Connor, and with a roaring snarl, he leaped a powerful bound at the beasts face, his bear trap-like jaws snapping on the beasts head, he could feel its ugly blood filling his mouth. The titan dug his back paws into the wet sand to give him more leverage and began dragging his fangs along the beasts face. The creature obviously didn't like this and began thrashing about to fling Connor off, it did this with success but not without consequence, as it shook Connor off, the cinnamon male managed to drags his fangs deeper with a quick slash. It roared in anger and pain with its tusks flying, Connor almost lost balance but readjusted himself with his muscles bulging and drawing in deep and fierce snarls. Though he knew he couldn't do this on his own, the beast began to charge at the two of them as Connor positioned himself in front of Rose as a shield, but his mountain training has taught him to use his environment during a fight and that is what he was going to do. He dug his coal tipped paws into the sand and flung it right into the charging beast's eyes, it howled in irritation as he was temporarily blind, Connor used this to quickly glance back at Rosencrantz and check if he was okay. The titan would stay true to his word that he said to Rhaella, he would protect his packmates, and he was going to fight till the end, his emerald gaze was filled with concern as he looked at his comrade to see if he was okay. RE: Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago - Rhælla - July 31, 2019 The Lady of the Isle typically scoured the island in the morn, after the night had brought intrigue and treasures to the shores with the pass of the waves - searching for anything amiss before setting about her tasks for the day. Yet, as shadows lengthened and the flocks of Wheeling Gull returned to their roosts, the star-kissed Seelie was drawn from the forests, pacing restlessly. Anxiety coiled in her gut, fluttering along her limbs as concern wrinkled her brow. Unaware of what caused her unease, the nite nymph drew from the forests to sprint along the sand - hoping a twilight patrol might dispel some energy and calm her nerves. Rather, any semblance of peace dispelled and alarm lifted her hackles as the throaty bays echoed, hastening her gallop to a fullblown leaping bound. The sight that awaited her stilled her with surprise, widened amethyst gaze drinking in the sea-tusk that Rosencrantz and Connor warred against. "Walrus," she breathed - cursed - in Lirean before jumping into the fray with a little shake of herself. She leapt, claws scrabbling and piercing blubber as she struggled for a hold; an angered twist and the creature had shaken her off, the fae darting out of reach to stand alongside the males - casting a worried glance at her Tactician's injury. rolled a 9 for 80
RE: Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago - Rosencrantz - July 31, 2019 Second damage roll! 1 - 11, Rose got a 2! 9 health left!
It had felt like a lifetime since he had felt such a rush. Eye brilliantly lit with life as he focused on the beast ahead. He paid no mind as Connor joined in on the fray, pushing past the massive cinnamon man who attempted to shield him from further damage, and charged forward back to his target with hunger painting his expression. Pale lips pulling back in a viciously sharp grimace as he lept and held onto the blubber beast's neck from below, just under the tusks as to eliminate it from the threat. With the other two who joined the battle - despite his inner rage toward the starry pelted woman, he desired nothing less than to upkeep his promise to protect the pack. That alone fed his strength despite the injuries, despite pain and fatigue in his muscles. With a mouth full of the sea monster's flesh, she shook his head viciously to and fro, sawing into the neck as he jerked and used gravity to his advantage and the faltering strength of the beast now that there were three against one. Eventually, his toes touched the ground again, digging in as he poured all his remaining strength into pulling against the throat of the beast until finally - snap. The tension broke, sending him stumbling back as he struggled to keep his balance with a piece of the beast's flesh held tightly in his vice grip. With a lifeless stare, he looked on as the thing flailed its final movements, bleeding from the last wound Rose had inflicted in a gruesome amount as its brown hide began to turn red. It was only a matter of seconds now, especially with the other two adding their own damage until the giant fell. A lifeless corpse on the beach. Spitting out the piece he had managed to take, Rose turned his back on the scene and with a steady limp from nearly all limbs, walked away. His job was done. Behind him, a single bloody print trailed with every step he took as the rain slowly washed the crimson river on his thigh. It's been a while since he truly felt like himself again. RE: Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago - Connor - July 31, 2019 Rolled 1d100, got 21, health: 79, my boi lives
Connor shouldn't have been surprised when Rosencrantz brushed past him and continued to attack the beast, the tactician wasn't going down so easily. The cinnamon man's diversion seemed to work just enough so that Rosencrantz could get under the beast and finish the job, but Connor wasn't just going to stand there and let the beast continue to live after it attacked his packmate. What Connor didn't notice was that the Lady of the island herself, Rhaella had shown up to aid in the battle against this Walrus. His instincts roared at him to tell Rhae to get back for her own safety but he had to push back his instincts, she was the Lady, and it was her duty to make sure that her pack was safe just as much as Connor wanted. The star dusted threw a worried glance at Rose, but he didn't take much notice to that. Connor nodded to Rhaella, signaling to her that he was ready and willing to fight alongside her and be victorious, and with a deep snarl, Connor lunged forward at the Walrus with his fangs flashing as he went for the beast's face once again. With Rose biting at the neck, Connor was safer at attacking head-on, but that didn't stop the beast from retaliating. As one of its final moves, it managed to thrust its tusk into Connor's right shoulder to which Connor gave a pained hiss as he felt his blood beginning to pool out from him, but that didn't stop him. The giant man reared his head up and clamped on the back of its neck and dragged his teeth along down his neck to open it up so it could suffocate. This tactic was successful with the effort of his packmates since the beast didn't have long to live, but there was a sudden snap. Connor released his grip and stepped back with his shoulder stinging with pain, it seemed Rose snapped its neck and the beast fell limp to the ground. The titan male gave a relieved smile to both Rhaella and Rosencrantz as his chest heaved in exhaustion. But the tactician didn't stand triumphant for long, the white wolf without a word began to take his leave. "Rose-" Connor tried calling out to him but was ignored as Rose kept walking away from the both of them, the cinnamon guardian stood with his eyes softening in confusion. The titan's gaze cast a concerned glance to Rhaella, wondering if she had an explanation for why Rose left so quickly. RE: Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago - Rhælla - August 01, 2019 Before she could work herself into a fret over his wounds, he was gone, diving back into the fray - clambering up the sea beast to sink his incisors into the fat of its neck. It roared in pain, the sound vibrating through her sternum as the Lady drove on once more - Connor at her side. The nightwisp chose to leap towards the walrus's face, legs dangling as her teeth sunk into the cut of its whiskery wuzzle; hanging between the tusks of the great seal-like creature, it had no choice but to sway angrily, bellowing its pain yet unable to retaliate. Though her jaws screamed, threatening to snap apart like the oversprung clamps of a beartrap, the wisp clung to the sea-tusk's snout, clinging and tearing deeply into the tender flesh until Rosencrantz dispatched it. The walrus fell with a thunderous crash, the wind knocked from her lungs as she went down with it - smacking wetly against the rain-whetted sand. Hazily, she was aware of a crimson-streaked Rosencrantz striding past as she slipped, stumbling to her paws. Shooting a glance at Connor, she dashed after him - calling out weakly. "Rosen'!" "You're hurt," she murmured softly, confused why he was running as she cut off his escape - rosebud nose fluttering through the air worriedly. "Let me help you," she urged in a whisper, salt on her tongue as the rain picked up - driving across her dark features and dancing over her lips with the taste of the sea. RE: Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago - Rosencrantz - August 01, 2019 He was off, off to wander the island elsewhere, for what? He wasn't certain. Perhaps to lick his wounds, wash off the blood in the sea salt, listen to the rain - and await until his body could handle the next fight. Licking his lips, he carefully cleaned the blood that clung to his face, reaching as far as the pink muscle would allow. As the rain picked up its pace, drenching the knight in a coat of water, weighing down his coat as it hugged his rugged form, muscles still protruding, swollen from the battle against the walrus as blood rushed to aid their strength. It was clear he was not all fluff as the rain slicked down the down that caped him. No ear flickered in the direction of Connor as his name was softly spoken, Rosencrantz was set on something else than to linger in the presence of others. As the exiled ran out in front to cut him off from his path, neck pulling back immediately while ears flattened for a moment. Annoyed. The warmth he had found before had faded recently, the cold that poured from the heavens paled in comparison to the emptiness he found in his stare as he gazed down to the woman who had once broken down his barriers. Shifting his weight off the injured side, he leaned heavily to side as he stood. No.He began again, this time he turned into a new direction - he just wanted to get away. Connor is injured, assist him. With few words, he expressed that he was set on cleaning himself off. That bite in his tone had found its way back. RE: Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago - Connor - August 02, 2019 Connor and Rhaella exchanged glances for a breif moment before the star dusted lady dashed for her tactician, calling out to him and blocking his path so that he wouldn't go any further. The titan followed her with an awkward start but he wasn't limping too bad, the pain annoyed him but he viewed it as just a flesh wound. The pouring rain would sooth his pain for if he tried to clean it out in sea water, the salt would only make his injury worse. The titan padded up to where the two were with Rhaella fretting over him and Connor could only agree with her, he was stained with his own blood all over and Rosen was trying to clean it up with his limited tounge range. But the white man seemed annoyed with her concern, dismissing it, he told the lady that Connor was in need of more attention to which Connor blinked. "Oh uh this?" He said gesturing his head to his punctured shoulder, "tis but a scratch," he joked with his tail wagging and his smile was large and dumb. His pain wasn't as alarming compared to Rosencrantz, Connor figured his own injuries would heal on its own and things will just go back but Rosencrantz would need more attention. RE: Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago - Lokie - August 02, 2019 Lokie had missed all the excitement by the time he turned up. Rosencrantz was bloody, and it looked like Connor was a bit, too. Rhaella seemed okay, though, as she cut of Rosencrantz' escape. Lokie's eyes befell the beast. What is that? he exclaimed, excitement in his voice. He immediately went to the unmoving ball of blubber, sniffing it. What a funny smell it had. Look at those teeth! They were way longer than any wolf's he'd ever seen. Testing the carcass, he nipped at it, not expecting it to come to life, but he wanted to see what the thing was made of. Certainly wasn't the same as nipping a wolf. His skin was much, much harder, and not nearly as easy to pierce. With a leap, Lokie hopped on top of the beast, tail wagging, not caring he was getting his paws covered in blood. Can we eat it? he asked hopefully, his eyes going to his packmates. RE: Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago - Rhælla - August 05, 2019 The rain cut across her scarred countenance, tears that stung as they swept across her cheeks, her lips. But his words sliced sharper, stabbed deeper. Whatever companionship she had found in him was gone - in its place, the hard glint of hatred she'd first seen in his glance. It was harsher this time, or maybe it only seemed so since she had known his warmth, seething with cold venom as he turned from her. She was left in the rain, wondering what she had done wrong. With a thick swallow, the Lady turned back to the slain sea-tusk and her duties. She'd chased after him once; she'd not do so again. She dared not express pain at his coldness, nor did she allow the rattle of anxiety trembling in her chest to take over. The girl returned to Connor, spine straight and head raised proudly with every drop of royal, noble blood coursing in her veins. She was a Veltigar, and Veltigars did not fall to pieces when they were hurt - especially not this one. "Where are you hurt?" Came the low, collected question as she halted by her recruit - unable to pinpoint his injuries in the rain. She sent Lokie a nod as he appeared, answering with a soft, "Aye, eat what ye will. Make it easier to move anyhow." She had no appetite herself; she desired only to tend to Connor and move as much meat as she could to the caches, so that she might seek out @Daegon and forget what had transpired along the shores. |
