Escaping in the dark - Flicker - August 19, 2019 @Aurëwen Hope this is ok <3 We can have this as a botany thread and Sheri as ranger/botany (Two birds with one stone) unless you want to keep it as planned that's fine. She'd dragged herself here after laying in a field for days. Waiting. Hoping that infection would take her. It didn't. She was left burning up, freezing cold. Pushing through the wildflowers searching for food. She wasn't out of the woods yet, though. The woman, slumped beside a pool, looking down at the gently steaming water, desperately wanting to slither in and sink. Just to see how deep it was. She panted, the wound burning on her neck. The ghastly rip that opened to her ribs was puckered with scabbing and scar tissue. At least her infected leg was better. Not healed, but better. She pushed closer to the water, it's warmness seeping into her fur, caressing her skin. Another kick and it covered her body, her wounds with shocking pain that drew a stained bark from her. She pushed to stand, the quickest she'd moved for some time. Flicker stood, staring at the water, shaking with pain. Her side bled into the water, slowly. She stood there, unable to move, for a long time. RE: Escaping in the dark - Andraste - August 20, 2019 yeah, that’s fine Waking as late as she had, the last thing Aurëwen wished to do (well, one out of many) was to work through the hazy hotsprings that lie burning in the riverlands, when it was already so balmy. But she much preferred to conquering this stretch of land once more than the glaringly obvious and piercing back in Evergreen’s claim — resolve returned or no. So, she’d set out, blood so hot she was almost steaming. There was little that could chill the resentment within airgetlám; the believed shame for all of her fraying ties to others... but the sight of a figure, bleeding in the burning haze and sulfuric waters, was enough to temper her belligerent emotions. For now. She smelt the infections upon the neck and ribs before she saw them; noted the kicking leg that decided to heal in its own time. Obviously, nobody had seen to these wounds, yet; and for a moment Aurëwen forgot how to speak as regularly as she’d once had. Until: “When did you acquire these afflictions? Who— what were they by?” RE: Escaping in the dark - Flicker - August 20, 2019 She didn't notice the stranger approaching until she spoke.
The words hit her as if waking her up. Flicker turned her head slowly, seeing the pale form that came towards her through the haze. Maegi. She moved, turning head-on with a soft snarl to show she was not weak. Then, her vision cleared with the adrenaline that had started pumping into her system. There was no ripped face. No twisted paws or nightshade purple. A stranger. "Sorry." She mustered, dipping her head apologetically. "Weeks ago. Large wolf, starting pack south." She breathed heavily, the sulfur and heat assaulting her throat. She felt as if she were dying. RE: Escaping in the dark - Andraste - September 10, 2019 The wrinkling of the wandress’ muzzle did little to deter the silver; and though she remained where she was as the ailing spoke, her practiced eyes continued their journey upon Flicker’s frame, seeking out the hurts most evident to her. It was decided there and then that, as soon as the rogue allowed her nearer, that Aurëwen would muse and give mention of this pack to the southlands once this she-wolf had been seen to. thread archived on agreement |
