but only into flesh and a broken whisper - Cassiopeia - August 26, 2019 she has grown stagnant, brooding. motherhood does not suit her, exactly, but she dedicates herself to it easily enough for the love she holds for her daughters. she watches them now, as they throw themselves at one another in what appears to be a fight over a particularly interesting raven's skull. absentmindedly, she begins to groom her pelt, tugging away brambles and tiny mats as she goes, one eye kept always on her daughters. she bumps into the thing underneath her skin with her nose, first, and despite a twinge of oddness ignores it. a moment later, she finds the bump again; a smooth swell on her side, perhaps the size of the skull her daughter's quarrel over. her investigation is short-lived - Scylla's grabbed the skull and bolted, Hela on her heels. she doesn't follow them this time, but watches them go, ghost of a smile on her face. RE: but only into flesh and a broken whisper - Maegi - August 26, 2019 Surprisingly enough, motherhood did suit Maegi. She glowed. Despite having the worst possible example to start off with, she had gotten through her turbulent infancy—and then had met other, better mother figures. Seelie. Venninne. Relmyna. Potema was nothing, compared to the women who had showed her such kindness, such love. But she had no inkling of the effects it had on Cassiopeia and so approached the woman with a soft bark of greeting, lifting her chin and smiling at the silver-spangled woman. How are you?she murmured, just loud enough to hear over the gentle white noise of the forest. Her eyes drifted, from Hela and Scylla and then back to her friend. Miryam doesn't know exactly when this took place within the timeline, so if Vaati was on the Nona's mind (if Vaati was even here), Maegi didn't mention it. |
