hours and armies couldn't keep me out - Hela - September 01, 2019

the bone in her maw drops abruptly to the ground as she wheels towards the inner territories, her plans for the afternoon shifting suddenly. she's set on finding @Maegi, if she can - she wants to learn more about what she'd told them at the clearing, the gods her mother knows little of and doesn't seem to care about.

the idea of omnipresent, terrible gods lingers just out of reach, not quite understood and not quite believed, yet. but she wants, as Scylla does, to understand. it would be better to know these gods, to have them on her side, rather than against her. she finds a scent trail and calls softly for the leader, one of the two wolves she truly loves and respects.

RE: hours and armies couldn't keep me out - Maegi - September 04, 2019

She was pacing, undoubtedly frazzled by Sobek's disappearance and wondering just what to do next. Muttering under her breath like some nutter, working things out aloud. Where could he have gone? Why?

Why did everyone leave? Funny, that she kept coming back to that question. It was starting to sound less and less crazy with each departure.

Maegi didn't have to go far upon hearing the call; she came upon her niece soon enough. Hela, she responded, clearly abstracted but not wanting to be rude. Her eyes raked over the pale girl; she was growing well, and fast. But if Maegi focused on that too much, her mind would wander back to Sobek, and. . .

Everything all right? she asked instead, hoping fervently that the answer was yes. They spoke briefly, perhaps, and then went their separate ways.
