but written in history - RIP Blodreina - September 10, 2019 the first rumbles heard the day before could be easily excused as nothing more than roiling thunder of a passing storm; and yet despite how blodreina waits for it to come and pass ...it does not. the silence that hangs over the sunspires and even the great bear valley as @Praimfaya walks in tandem with her own steps brings an unexplainable rush of dread to her. it clenches in her chest and fills her with icy anxiety. it takes a lot to unsettle blodreina and yet she is unsettled all the same. the draconian duo part after they offer @Ingram their 'see you later's' earlier that morning: blodreina offering her swarthy and scarred husband an lingering touch of affection and a low murmured 'be careful' despite that she and their daughter were the ones setting off. she feels the need to utter it to him all the same. surely, she is being paranoid but something about this unnerving silence feels all too familiar to her though she cannot immediately place her paw upon it. the territory they explore today, broken antler fen, is not for the reasons that blodreina normally takes her daughter out of diaspora for. though she has scouted potential territories for diaspora to migrate to with the changing of the seasons ...she realizes that staying there had never actually been the plan — not that she'd had much of a plan aside from survive in mind when she'd shown up on their doorstep pregnant. perhaps if verx or aurë and their children had stayed blodreina wouldn't mistake her own hermit tendencies as feeling of not belonging. no one had ever made her feel that way — except for kazimir during that one meeting but blodreina overlooked that slight — but praimfaya's recent meeting with verx had set the gears of the wanlida's head spinning all the same. praimfaya grew older seemingly by the day ...and was certainly old enough for the move now and soon blodreina suspects that she will not be satisfied with her place among diaspora. she was born for greatness, after all, wasn't that what she's been telling and teaching her? grooming her for? perhaps now was a good time to begin placing the ideals together and scouting for something for them to make their own geda ...and broken antler fen seems the ideal place to do it upon first glance. it is a rich timberland with cedar and willow, ground softened with moss and grasses. there is fresh water and appears to be plenty of game: small and otherwise and as far as she can determine by what ground her and praimfaya have already covered: there are no neighboring packs to compete with. praimfaya, blodreina calls to her silver and charcoal marked daughter. what do you think about potentially claiming this territory for us? for our kru?she asks the girl, muzzle gesturing to the vast territory spread out before them with an elegant sweep, fierce sea blue-green gaze searching for any signs that they are not alone in the fen. RE: but written in history - Henwen - September 10, 2019 Lmao was literally writing a thread for us <3
She'd wandered into some fen. Wet, cool. Perhaps cold where it will freeze. She scanned the land, wondering what to do. She had nothing, no one. She was bored of just surviving. She sighed, trudging. It was tranquil here, prey plenty and all. Her head lifted at voices, realising she wasn't alone. She couldn't make out the words -- probably because they were foreign -- but trotted forward all the same, chuffing softly with a soft wave of the tail. A woman and a younger girl, possibly daughter. She smiled, approaching. "Hey there!" She slowed, stopping an easy distance away. RE: but written in history - RIP Blodreina - September 11, 2019 praimfaya responds with positivity, though there was much to explore of the territory yet; and as blodreina does another scan of the terrain stretched before them she takes note of the fire and earthen kissed pelage of the stranger that approaches them. blodreina draws forward a few steps, though careful to not give the blatant appearance of shielding praimfaya — for she is teaching her draconian daughter to be a warrior and does not want praimfaya to think that she doesn't have faith in her ( she does ) — but it is instinct both as mother and guard. hello, blodreina returns the greeting while priamfaya murmurs it in trigedasleng. she hadn't come across any lingering scents that might give the impression of a fledgling pack — and casts a glimpse as praimfaya to confirm that she hadn't either — but she is weary. is this your home?it would be inconvenient if another pack had their eye on this territory but blodreina tries to keep herself from jumping the gun on conclusions. RE: but written in history - Henwen - September 12, 2019 She smiled warmly at the pair, knowing others often were wary of strangers. She didn't think a mother and daughter pair would be too troublesome.
Again, that strange language came from the youth, arising questions with a base of certainty now. She'd probably ask questions later. For now, she was wondering why two pack wolves were wandering. Perhaps just scouting, but she'd not smelt any packs close by. "Temporarily. A lone wolf keeps moving, y'know. Gotta see the world." She smiled again. "What brings you so far from your pack? Your pack scent isn't close by." RE: but written in history - RIP Blodreina - September 14, 2019 no, i do not know, blodreina wishes to reply but does not. likely, it was rhetorical and the only time the wanlida had been a loner had been the brief time between drageda and diaspora when she'd been pregnant and desperate for a safe place to nest and give birth to the proud girl that ghosts forward to stand at her side now. her wanheda, blood of the commanders. i see,she replies instead, relieved to hear that this wasn't being staked out by any other potential packs. a lingering lone wolf or two ...that could be dealt with. we're scouting out a territory to place roots of our own,a glimpse is spared towards praimfaya before blodreina looks back to the gold kissed woman. my daughter is to be a great commander and though our current pack has been nothing but kind to us, i fear that within their ranks praimfaya will not reach her full potential.and maybe there wasn't truth in that belief but it is how blodreina feels and worries that there will be a stigmatism towards the basilisk's children and that her daughter, and what she is destined for, might go unacknowledged. RE: but written in history - Henwen - September 16, 2019 A new pack, hm. Henwen supposed she could have need to join a pack. She missed pack life.
"I see," she mused, looking to the pale youth with a smile. "I'm Henwen. I could be useful to founding a pack," if the woman was so set on her daughter being a leader, surely it would be her choice, only with her mother's advice. Henwen could scout easily enough as well as fight for the territory if need be. Surely she'd have time to still dedicate to her deities. This concept it the proposed leader seemed promising anyway. RE: but written in history - RIP Blodreina - September 18, 2019 henwen, the woman introduced herself as, and it is followed by words that she can be helpful to a founding pack. i am blodreina and this is praimfaya, she offers their own names, with a gesture of her muzzle in wanheda's direction as she speaks her name. what skills are you offering us?blodreina asks out of too-far-ingrained skills as a guardian. our pack will be called roangeda — taken from the name of this place: broken antler fen — and it is where we will give life to praimfaya's ideals of what it means to be kru — a family, a pack.blodreina pauses here, allowing for questions if henwen had any. RE: but written in history - Henwen - September 19, 2019 She nodded, taking on their names. The youth didn't seem timid at all, but cautious. She supposed it was a good skill to have, especially growing up. One should not be scared but should hold caution against all. "Henwen. I can apply myself to anything." So, this place was Broken Antler Fen. Good hunting grounds, it sounded. Rutting males were easier. She'd clearly put lots of thought into this and seemed very prepared to carry it out. Again, that other language. "What's the other tongue you speak?" She wanted to know, her curiosity was powerful. RE: but written in history - RIP Blodreina - September 19, 2019 henwen, the golden woman offers her name and blodreina tucks it away with a sage nod. behind it follows a jack-of-all-trades response that blodreina finds satisfying enough; though she must remind herself that not everyone knows what their trade path is as she has. she's always been a warrior, always wanted nothing more. nothing more than to fight beside her commander and, if necessary, die for her ( little does she know that this will soon become prophecy ). if you think roangeda might be a good fit for you, then you are welcomed into our kru, henwen.blodreina tells the woman only after sparing praimfaya a wordless look that her daughter reads and wordlessly responds to with a nod of her head. the language we speak is called trigedasleng, blodreina responds to the woman's question with a small smile. we would be more than happy to teach you, if you'd like.she offers. RE: but written in history - Henwen - September 20, 2019 Blodreina offered her a place in the ranks to grow Roangeda. Almost surprising, but she wasn't complaining. The less she had to bother with vigorous tests to see what trades she could perform the better. She was too lazy, in all honesty. Of course, she would happily complete pack duties, but nothing more than necessary unless she had reason to. "I would find it an honour to join and an even greater one to learn Trigedaslang." She smiled softly, her tail brushing through the air softly. The alliance was formed, and she was pledged. Now all they had to do was build this up. RE: but written in history - RIP Praimfaya - September 26, 2019 through the entirety of the conversation between her mother and henwen, praimfaya has been silent; content to linger in a state of studious observation. while her mother claims to not have praimfaya's own knack for diplomacy from what the young wanheda has seen: she was doing a fairly good job. though there was much to learn about henwen ( and vice versa ), blodreina managed to convince her to join the cause all the same. shall we explore?blodreina asks of their new companion while praimfaya slips away to a bit of her own exploration figuring that it was best to let the adults talk as they explored. she would seek henwen out later, she tells herself ...though little does she know that the next time she would see henwen she would come with heart and soul chained with the heavy iron of grief. |
