the distance between us, it sharpens me like a knife - Old One - September 26, 2019

@Eleni, She starts lazily as she walks, glancing toward her sister and resisting the urge to comment when she catches her looking at @Eastwood again. I've been thinking — Razikale's day is soon. Perhaps we can celebrate by telling Eastwood about our home. Her gaze flits to their companion to see his reaction, and she finds herself hoping he likes the idea. Not that she'd ever admit it, of course.
She slows to a stop only moments after she finishes speaking, looking away from the others and out over the meadow around them. Her thoughts quickly drift elsewhere, and after a moment she adds: Rather flat here, isn't it? If her suggestion had been met with any response, she's deaf to it now — though it will no doubt come up again later.

Was she looking at him again? Oops...

Her gaze snapped to Nirali though as she began to talk. Was Razikale's day already soon upon them? Sounds like the perfect way celebrate. Although she looked over to their company to see if he even had any interest in the matter. If he was going to keep tagging along (and she hoped he would...) it wouldn't hurt for him to know a bit more, to make him feel less like an outsider and a true companion in their trio.

She was thinking about him a lot though which was awkward even for her. Lucky for her that Nirali spoke up again. This time it was odd but Eleni saw it as an out from her own thoughts. Might be safer here. She hummed softly as her tail gave a few nervous flicks.

He had caught Nirali's pretty sister staring at him often, although he was far too much of a gentleman to say anything about it. Usually, he just pretended he didn't notice so she wouldn't get embarrassed, hoping his acting had been convincing enough. Truthfully, he'd like to get to know her better, but he had refrained despite his interest. He had nothing to offer a woman. He was a traitor, a soldier who had deserted his pack—natrona. It caused him a lot of guilt and was most of the reason he wandered with the two of them. They kept him company and kept him from having to deal with the things he'd rather forget about. But the mention of their home and something called 'Razikale' piqued his interest. He wanted to know more about it...about them. He was about to ask, but the girls' attention was quickly shifted to the meadow and it's safety. He would ask about it later, maybe use it as an excuse to talk to Eleni...

He surveyed the meadow, lifting his nose to draw in the scents. Safer is always good— his words were abruptly cut off as his gaze found the lake. Water. He could never resist the urge to swim. He missed the ocean like crazy when he was this far inland. Without another word, he trotted over to the water and waded in, ignoring the way it stung his still healing wound and momentarily forgetting that he he wasn't alone.

Ever since he found @Araceli, he remains close to her. It is a company he will never take for granted—their mutual patron in Toth being a source of conversation back in Minrathous, and now they both seek answers and finding Nirali and Eleni. Aldric does not wish to travel far from the area which he met Alarian—a fact he’s yet to spring on Araceli, too—but their search unfortunately does.

In the end, it will do him little good to linger, if the reasons why he’s been traveling so much these last few months stays lost.

His mind often toyed with the thought the goal is unreachable, yet with one sister found… his confidence grows. Together, they’ll be able to do this.

He glances towards her, giving a brief nod when their eyes meet… both of them had grown hungry, and started following water sources, in hopes of finding prey which is oddly scarce. Perhaps the infrequent tremors are a source of fear?

Forests break into an open meadow, and his golden gaze takes to searching the vast area. Bushes with brightly colored berries dot the area, but it is movement that catches his eye. Golden in coloration, an unknown male dips towards the water’s edge. Aldric pauses in his steps, and dark tipped ears high in alert with his head raised.

He hears a voice. Familiar, unmistakable.

His heart hammers, freezing, when he turns. Nirali, he whispers, Eleni. A dream once more? Does Araceli see them, too? Urging his body to move, his paws eventually unstick themselves and he picks up his pace—thundering across the meadow towards them.

The painted female had stayed by Aldrics side since they had found each other. He was a familiar face in a strange new land. One that had become more angry since she had first came, which had taken her away from the beautiful ocean and towards familiars.

The thought that she had met her father still seemed to shock her. However when she heard the names of more familiars her heart skipped a beat. Her sisters were right in front of her and she couldn't help but wag her tail in joy yet couldn't mutter a single word.
