Scream to the gods that you have lost - RIP Evermore - October 01, 2019

It was a blur.

For a moment she was surrounded by calm, cold water that would rush to cover her paws before receding and leaving behind treasures in the wet sand. Then the next, trees were falling and sand was cutting her skin as it whipped through the sharp breezes of air. She was terrified, yet somehow alive.

Her journey felt rushed, though she had appeared somewhere that felt less dangerous considering the ocean wasn't too close to her now. The forest she passed through took damage, trees lost and landslides visible. Water draining, no sight or scent of other life. She felt alone, afraid too. Perhaps she would feel this way for awhile, however. Nothing was seemingly happening in her life.

When she saw a mountain, she was reminded of home, the comforting feeling of being snuggled up with her family in the den. Even though she held resentment for her upbringing, she still loved the memories. And thus, she rushed to the mountain, desperate to find herself a parcel to sleep. She was in no shape to climb, but she was lucky. An overhanging ledge from the mountainside made of hard rock offered her a home. It was dry, large enough to fit perhaps another wolf besides her underneath it.

Evermore felt her legs shake as she settled on the ground. She sprawled herself out, exahusted as her tongue lolled out of her mouth and her chest heaved up and down. She needed relief, she needed rest, she needed sleep. Perhaps she could fine her peace here.

RE: Scream to the gods that you have lost - Agana - October 07, 2019

Her pace lead Agana far from the Weald, once again on one of her ‘excursions’. The silver understood her need for freedom, and allowed her to roam the Teekons as much as she liked. Of course, she took full advantage of it. Even if the latest events discouraged her, the need to explore, to run was too great to be ignored.

And so, Agana found herself at the Silvertip once more. One of the first places she explored at her arrival. It did not held many memories from the present; her mind played a flashback, when her cousin, Hemera, was still her friend. She sighed and shook her head to press the memory back to where it came.

Climbing the mountain would be suicide; but the sudden air that filled her nose was.. strange. It signed the presence of another on this mountain. Dark thoughts rushed in her mind as she followed the same road she did not so long ago.

As she padded, her golden gaze spotted a wood-colored stranger. A sigh of releaf escaped her lips; the stranger was alright. Agana chuffed as she approached the wood-stranger, so she wouldn’t scare her.

She slept, perhaps for a little. Though she couldn't deny that she could still hear the heavy waves in her mind. The slapping of the water against the sand, the sharp wind that would cut the eyes of strangers who tried to escape. The rain, it fell sideways and slowed down travelers. It was all so vivid, so fresh. She struggled to keep her eyes closed for long.

Light colored eyes snapped open, though she couldn't see the figure who called to her. She heard them, she could even smell them. Sight wise, her eyes seemed to give out in her. Although she felt afraid, she swallowed the upset feelings in her stomach. She returned the chuff, an invitation.

Evermore sat herself up and shook her head a few times. Hopefully this may get her eyes to work correctly.

RE: Scream to the gods that you have lost - Agana - October 14, 2019

Agana approached the emotionaly-wounded she-wolf, entering her safe zone with caution. Golden gaze examined the stranger carefully, and sat down in front of her, questioning.

“What are you doing here in the cold, and also alone?” Perhaps the stranger did not want to answer. Maybe she even scared her; something of the two. Her intentions were not to hurt her, no. Agana was concerned; concerned this stranger might die here and she could have done something to stop it.

“Did you get lost?” She seemed as fi she had no idea where she was. Probably it was true? The beige woman waited patiently for the stranger to reveal the answers to her question.

RE: Scream to the gods that you have lost - RIP Evermore - October 21, 2019

Her sleep was interrupted, but perhaps for a good reason. Evermore was not alone on the mountain, there was indeed more life around her than she expected. The scent and voice of another, cautiously making their way closer, caused her to stir and sit up. She shakes her head a few times, attempting to correct the blurry vision of her dues due to sheer exhaustion.

Closer and closer, the other moved forward until Evermore, protectively and surprisingly non aggressively, slid herself back a few inches. She was in no condition to defend herself, not like this. While the seemingly wolf-lile shape in front of her seemed to not have a bad aura, Evermore didn't risk it. It wasn't until she spoke again, softly, that the tawny woman felt a little safer to sit still.

"The coast," she started off slowly, "was swallowed whole by the ocean. I ran away, before I was swallowed too." . Who knew if the coast would ever recover from this event, perhaps it would lie forever in the damnation of the earth's decay in this land. The sand would remain sea swept and broken, the water at a high tide, the trees destroyed and uprooted.

"no one else ran." . Evermore didn't realize the connotation her words might have given off. It
may sound like she had a family, but in reality, she simply didn't see anyone else trying to escape the coast with her. Perhaps she was one of the last ones to escape.

RE: Scream to the gods that you have lost - Agana - October 27, 2019

“I see the coast wasn’t spared,” the mountains, the forests, now the coast. It seemed as the world reached it’s end. She sighed, sadness taking over her.

Golden gaze watched the female in front of her, a shiver hit her lean body. The night was unusually cold, something she was indeed used to back in the north. But this talk about ‘running’ made her loose touch with reality for a second.

“No one else ran? What do you mean?” Agana was curious about her story. No one else ran; who were they? Her family? Perhaps some friends? The beige woman sat patiently, moonlight shining on her eyes.

She licked her lips gingerly, the conversation brought about vivid, yet somehow foggy memories of her most recent events. She felt like she shouldn't call them memories because they were events, real life events that were too close to the present time. Evermore felt her ears shrink against her skull, her heart heavy with thought.

"Nothing was spared," she said, "inland has succumbed to the tremors and horrors as well." She hadn't seen much, but what she had seen was enough to confirm her suspicions that the Earth was reaping souls of the animals. Perhaps there was a religious aspect wolves could take, that somehow, they were sentenced to damnation for their wrongdoings. Or, perhaps in a more realistic idea, the earth was under it's constant change and faced constant motions. Of course, a wolf couldn't understand that. It had to be simple, simpler than what science told.

When inquired, Evermore darted her eyes away. "I saw no one else running." Maybe it was sheer luck Evermore was by herself on the coast when this event happened. She was unaware that there were other souls who escaped, to her current knowledge, she was a sole survivor. "I was alone when the ocean swelled. When everything came down; the rain, the wind, the sea, there was no one." Perhaps her fate was meant to face tragedy. To build and then break what she started. That is the life some have to live.

But was it truly hers?

RE: Scream to the gods that you have lost - Agana - October 31, 2019

This dialog bought back feelings; feelings she struggled so much to forget, to lock them down inside, and bury the key, so she could no longer deal with them. But like a volcano, they erupted back into her already-scared mind, like claws encrusting on her brain. She shifted her weight nervously, feeling watched. Heavy breathing, she tried to calm herself down, while listening to the female in front of her.

“Maybe someone escaped,” A wishper. Surely someone escaped; right? There was no possible way she was the only survivor. But who knows, perhaps she spoke truthfully, so who was she to judge? “I am sorry for your loss.” And she meant it, this apology. Agana knew how it felt to be alone; so she would not let this maiden freeze out here.

“You are not safe here from the Earth’s shift either.” Golden gaze lifted to the Silvertip, “A boulder might detach from the mountain, and —” She just realized what she was saying, and closed her mouth immediately and turned her attention to the female. “Well, it doesn’t matter.” Agana slowly made two steps closer to her, tail and ears twitching. “You are not alone anymore.” The sand female reassured the other, sitting down on the cold rock. The feeling of being watched was still there, lingering.

Loss, it was all Evermore could think about. She exhaled. "Please, don't apologize for what you didn't commit," she said, "or else you carry everyone else's burdens on your shoulders." Her tone was soft, not to scold or chide. She was thankful for the other's care, but didn't want her worrying.

Evermore had grown a greater sense of her mortality during these events. She forgot the fact that one day, she would join the earth, where her body would be left and her spirit may wander elsehwere. She hoped she would get some sort of burial, it would be nice to think someone cared enough to give her respect. When the talk of the dangers of the land continued, including the chances of death again, Evermore couldn't help but nod. The other cut her sentence off short, however, noticing the weight of the conversation could drop instantly. But she right, about the chances of death even while feeling safe.

The company of the other gave Evermore comfort. The two may not live with each other, but perhaps this one meeting would be enough to rejuvenate faith and hope to continue living in the wilds. Evermore settles back down. "It is strange to think death could always be upon us," she started off, "but moments like these are the reasons why many forget death exists." It is when creatures find their comfor that they forget the bad things in the world exist. Evermore was thankful for those good things, the things that made life bearable, enjoyable, and free-feeling.

RE: Scream to the gods that you have lost - Agana - November 02, 2019

apologies for short response !

Ah, the philosophy of death: everyone dies at some point. Agana knew this very well, but the word kept echoing her mind: death, death, death. She shook her head, and attempted to block all these dark thoughts out of her mind. “Enough about death,” she almost spitted, turning her head away, annoyed by where this conversation had gone.

Golden gaze shut, a cold breeze brushing in her face, a shiver running down her spine. “You should find yourself another place to rest, you might catch a cold.” Of course there was the possibility of dying here, but she would rather not continue the extremely positive “death-talk”. Agana rose to her feet, tail twitching from the air. “A cave should be around here, somewhere you can continue your sleep.”

The other changed the topic, then rose to her fet. Perhaos it was time to part ways, Evermore felt a twinge of loneliness begin to nip at her. "Yes, perhaps you're right." She stood, slowly but sure-footed and steady. Out in the open on the mountainside, it was practically asking for trouble. However, a cave or makeshift den would be her safe space, her best bet at staying warm and finding herself in morning.

"I should let you return to your home, I've kept you far away enough." She shifted her gaze to catch Agana's. "Thank you, for listening and for being here. It... It's rare to have someone like you out in the woods." Kindness wasn't always easy to find, but somehow, someway, Evermore's luck has been blossoming. She hoped she could continue this trend. With a dip of her head in respect, Evermore parted ways to look for a place of rest.

fade here?

RE: Scream to the gods that you have lost - Agana - November 10, 2019

thank you for the thread ! <3

Her gaze did not turn to the female when she spoke, but continued to move to leave the mountain. Alas, golden eyes turned to her, a slightly worried expression on her face.

"No need to thank me," it was ture there weren't many kind wolves; but she was a break from the norm. The corner of her lips tug into a smile, then turned away and jumped down from the boulder. "Safe travels, and stay away from mountains," she shouted, then began her journey home.
