Excalibur - Wraen - October 13, 2019 Wraen is right outside the Strath. Welcome for all survivors, who could reply to her call.
Yet another earthquake had surprised them at the beginning of the week, but it had not affected the copse, therefore Wraen along with the rest of the adults continued to hunt and care for the children and do their best in surviving the increasingly difficult conditions. However, on her first rather free day, she decided to make her way to Hideaway strath in order to see, how Elfie was doing in his new home. The youth had been gone nearly two weeks and contrary to his promise of showing up at some point and calming down the troubled minds of the adult figures, he had not arrived. Wraen had not worried much, because she knew, how eager the boy had been to leave and how all the novelty of the situation had not yet worn off or lost any of it's appeal. But she still wished to see him - she was fond of the firey Blackthorn youth and just wanted to make sure that he was alright. The sight that greeted her, when she finally arrived, was not one she had expected to see. Rocks, mud and rubble were blocking the place, where the entrance to Asterism Grove had formerly been. The scents around the place had gone stale and were washed away by recent rainfalls, what troubled her was that there were no fresh ones either going in or coming out. It could be, of course, that they were using a different passage, but then - whay hadn't anyone come by the copse to tell, what had happened. They were family, they should have been the first to know, the first to come to aid. A dreadful thought occurred to her and she tipped her muzzle and howled long for @Towhee or @Phox or anyone, who could hear her and reply. The thought that they all might be dead there was too horrible to bear. RE: Excalibur - Keyni - October 13, 2019 Also for anyone who may be trapped opposite the strath!
Cut off from the Strath and some of the pack, Keyni was constantly on edge. Worryingly, she had not caught sight nor sound of Towhee. She could only conclude that the female was either trapped inside her own home, or worse yet, had fallen victim to the landslide. She prayed to whatever gods may exist, that this was not the case. She never strayed far from the site of the blockage - a great wall of earth, stone and fallen trees. Slowly, she calmed her racing thoughts and began to think more rationally. Each option she had, she went over one by one. Trying to dig herself an entrance of her own to the other side would be time consuming, if not impossible. Not to mention it would mean taking her life in her own hands. The debris was highly unstable. One little shift is all it would take for the destruction to begin anew, wiping out her life with it. Her second option was to abandon the sight and seek out their nearest allies, the Firebirds. Keyni had just been about to act on that when a call went up, meant for the leaders of Asterism Grove. Her heart leapt, her nerves sparked anew. Out she emerged from the trees, a mixed look of relief and concern on her face. The fine layer of dirt and debris still lining her normally well groomed fur was a clue that she hadn't strayed from the area long, and was caught up in the chaos of the landslide when it happened. "Thank goodness someone is here." She offered to the woman, tail waving. A sniff confirmed she was indeed, a pack wolf. She must be of their neighboring pack. "Are you of the Firebirds? I'm Keyni, of Asterism Grove..." RE: Excalibur - Wraen - October 15, 2019 Wraen half-hoped that by some miracle either Towhee or Elfie would appear and tell that all of them had got away, but instead she was greeted by a member of the grove she did not know. The she-wolf was fairly young and looked as if she had had rather rough last few days. And the evident relief in her voice of meeting anyone at all, made the Sovereign's heart sink. So - no - Elfie was either dead or trapped inside the territory. "I am Wraen, alpha of Firebirds," Wraen introduced herself quickly. "What happened here? Did anyone else make out alive?" she questioned. She got all the information she needed, thanked the survivor, offered her to come by and stay with her pack, in case she was in need and then left to bring the news to the rest of the Firebirds. Gonna archive this, because there have been new developments in the plot. Thanks for joining!
