lethal industry - Junior - August 02, 2014 This one's for @Aquilo primarily but others are welcome too. :)
The young Warrior (and aspiring Outrider) climbed up the towpath to the plateau, her wet pelt glimmering in the afternoon light. She padded in the direction of ye olde rendezvous site, knowing it would most likely be empty. After a day adventuring, she was more than ready to find a quiet place to catch some Zs. Osprey Jr. stopped on the way to dip into one of the pack's caches and sat down in a patch of sunlight as she munched on a squirrel's leg. As she sat there, wearily enjoying her snack and drying out her fur, her mind wandered. Specifically, it wandered to Stavanger Bay. She stopped chewing and sighed quietly as the faces of her foster family drifted through her head. She would have to pester her dad to take her there for a visit soon. RE: lethal industry - RIP Tytonidae - August 02, 2014 Hope you don't mind me!
Tytonidae was happy that her family seemed happier lately. They could finally see Osprey Junior, even though they talked as if she had been gone for so long. She had tried to explain that her sister had been here the whole time—invisibly, of course—but nobody had understood her. Not that it mattered now. Tytonidae was just glad that her sister was showing herself to everybody again. The girls had grown tall together, nearing their full height and still lacking in the weight department. Ty was more slender than her sister, though it could just be that they were growing at different rates. Tytonidae's fur remained a few shade's lighter than Osprey's, although she had never expected that to change. Sniffing the air lightly (after telling her friends she had important business to attend to), Ty set off toward the rendezvous site. Unlike her sibling and cousins, she still stuck close to it. It had a familiarity to it that she just couldn't give up. Of course, once she spotted Osprey munching on some food, she couldn't help but prance over to her and waggle her tail around in delight, greeting her sister with a high-pitched bark. RE: lethal industry - Aquilo - August 02, 2014 Aquilo wandered around Blacktail Deer Plateau, he was new to this pack and was just exploring the territory a bit so he could get used and know it better. After all if there was an emergency and he didn't know what was happening, that would be just chaotic. It was best to know this place better while nothing too serious was happening, or at least nothing that he knew of. The white wolf wandered around until he noticed two young wolves from the pack, perhaps he could get to know them better. Finally having a goal in mind, he trotted over to them. RE: lethal industry - Junior - August 02, 2014 When her sister randomly appeared, Osprey didn't think twice. She rearranged the remains of the chewed squirrel leg in her mouth and leaned forward, offering it to Tytonidae. The dust-colored pup chose that very moment to unleash a loud bark, causing the meat to drop to the ground in between them. Osprey rolled her eyes, then smiled. Before she could so much as greet her sibling, another wolf approached. She saw him out of the corner of her eye and her heart jumped into her throat. "Rag—!" she began to say, turning toward the white wolf. She almost immediately realized her stupid mistake. She bit down on her tongue and swallowed her guardian's name, feeling a slight burning in her cheeks. "Erm," she said, trying to recover, "hi." She glanced sideways at Ty, hoping her sister would somehow cut through the awkward tension she'd just created. RE: lethal industry - RIP Tytonidae - August 05, 2014 I should be working. Oops.
Ty frowned in half-apology when the squirrel leg dropped to the ground. “Sorry,” she said, nudging the small tendril of meat toward her sister. But it seemed Osprey was distracted by something else, causing the charcoal pup to turn around and face an adult white wolf. Misunderstanding Osprey's greeting entirely, and figuring the two knew each other somehow, Ty responded with her most polite: “Hi, Erm.” The girl blinked slowly, dreamily as she observed him before turning to Osprey. “You know him?” she whispered, wanting some kind of clarification. As far as Ty was concerned, her sister had never really been that far away from her, so it seemed odd that Oss would know him and Ty wouldn't. RE: lethal industry - Aquilo - August 05, 2014 "Rag—!" one of the young wolves blurted out before seemingly realizing whatever mistake she had made and muttering a small hi. The white wolf stared, confused. Then the other female, probably the first one's sister also issued a greeting before turning to her sister and murmuring something that the white prince could not hear. This was becoming increasingly awkward for the new recruit. He stood there, bright blue eyes flickering between the pair, the dark tip of his tail swishing slowly. Hoping one of them might be able to break the tension and awkwardness in the air. "Uh, Hi." he said, an awkward smiled plastered on his face. RE: lethal industry - Junior - August 06, 2014 Osprey snorted when her sister mistook the stranger's name to be Erm. "His name isn't Erm," she stage whispered, her words punctuated by snickers and giggles. "No," she added in reply to Ty's question before looking upward at the white wolf and echoing (or reechoing, rather) his, "Hi." Licking her lips, the youngster glanced at her litter mate again before a mischievous idea struck her suddenly. "I'm Tytonidae and she's Osprey Jr." She jerked her head in the charcoal pup's direction. "Who're you?" RE: lethal industry - RIP Tytonidae - August 10, 2014 Eek. I am never very fast with Ty's replies.
Ty grinned stupidly when her sister clarified that: a) his name wasn't "Erm," and b) she didn't know him. This made Ty suddenly feel rather defensive toward the stark-white male, but she managed to stay strong beside her sister. When Osprey introduced herself as Ty, and Ty as Osprey, the girl couldn't help but nervously giggle with delight. She liked this game! With nothing to say, considering Osprey was much better at speaking to others than Tytonidae was, the girl continued to wriggle nervously, her paws fidgeting with anxious excitement. Would he find out that they weren't who they said they were? Would he be angry? Amused? Confused? Ty didn't know, and she didn't think Osprey knew either, but she was willing to go along for the ride. RE: lethal industry - Junior - August 13, 2014 Looks like Aquilo's gone. Do you care to post once more so we can use this toward threading with a pack mate, at least? :)
Perhaps he sensed the young girls were up to no good. After giving them a name, Aquilo, he quickly excused himself, citing some adult responsibility or another. As he trotted away, Osprey Jr. frowned at having her fun spoiled. She decided she didn't like him; he was no fun. Turning toward her sister, Junior said, "What do you wanna do now, Junior?" She cackled. How clever they were! Maybe they could go find another unsuspecting newcomer to fool. RE: lethal industry - RIP Tytonidae - August 30, 2014 Sounds good! I'll fade out here. :)
The other guy didn't respond, for one reason or another, and promptly abandoned them. Tytonidae frowned, but she didn't go bounding after him. Instead, she turned her attention to her sister, and licked her lips with a grin. "Let's go find somebody else we don't know, Ty!" Wagging her tail, she egged "Ty" along. There were always new wolves around, and plenty who didn't know the pups very well. Without waiting for her sister to confirm or deny their next adventure, Ty sprinted in whatever direction she was already pointed. |
