alone, even here - Aiolos - December 02, 2019

Possible sub-territory if @Andraste player takes to it? For @Tundra

It had become official - Aiolos was a wolf of Courtfall. Never before had he been able to make his own decision on where he was to live and what he was to do with his life. One would think him to be enlightened by this newfound opportunity, by the world at his paws, the freedom from the past fading away behind him.... No.

Aiolos was but overwhelmed, lost. Without command and without duty, he found himself spinning out of control. It had been a constant in his life before. He needed watch his back as a very child, to learn hard, work harder, to prove he was even fit for life being the basterd child that he was. And when the Nereides took him? Finally he had placement to fight for amongst the men. Ovid, a man to lead him, guide him in a manner which he'd never before. As a man, Olo was but a a shadow under a woman's command, a grunt for mere guarding or breeding purposes only.

Now what? He needed... something, anything...

Restless, anxious, he strode the borders of his home throughout nightfall, taking it upon himself to guard them as he had been commanded to do so time and time again. It was all he knew to do now other then to slip away time and time again to try and find his missing unit. He wouldn't tonight, only wander. Wander until he found this quaint little pool of water at the rocky outskirts of their own where the mountains receded. A small waterfall, if you could call it such, broken up into small bits and tinkling down the rocks into this small lake, only to form into stream and into the very creek which ran throughout the entirety of their Vale.

The side of his muzzle turned up in a half smile. It was a pretty little place. The sound of the pouring waters relaxing. The fiery wolf sighed and settled down near the edge.

RE: alone, even here - Tundra - December 10, 2019

so sorry to keep you waiting! just realised i've kinda messed up tundra's timeline so to make sense im just gonna ignore dates and chronologically place this before this

it was a guiltily rare occurence that tundra found herself accepting a day within courtfall's territories and not out wandering the treacherous peaks aimlessly. yet the vale was certainly not an unappealing place to find herself and so there were far worse things she could be forced to do than familiarize herself with the internal territories of the...no their claim.

it was night now but the soldier found a comfort that came with lurking amongst the familiar shadows that prowled alongside her; equal in their fluidness. and above her of course, were the stars- her silvered guides that mocked her so and yet still she could not resist the tug of equally dark eyes to glance up and see. shivering lightly, the warrior pushes on.

rather frequently she found herself recalling the border situation, perhaps feeling the beginnings of something akin to guilt. yet she hadn't been in the wrong! the youngster had been by no means fair of heart, not only had she trespassed but upon being caught had turned a barbed tongue upon her packmate. even now such a thought results in the bristling of fair hairs. yet...sagging slightly a furstrated sigh shoves forth as her tail twitches restlessly. perhaps what it was that made her feel such a way was not the duty she had performed but the initial excitement to blossom through her at getting to intercept the girl. could anyone but a monster gain enjoyment from such a thing?

ears now slick against her head, the ghost slinks forth until reaching the gentle sound of trickling. a small yet seemingly determined waterfall pooling forth into the dark waters beneath which wasted no time in proceeding to leave this little area and supply their home with water. she leaned back on her haunches, inhaling deeply. it was a lovely spot and it was only with a sweeping glance that she noticed the fiery man she'd noticed before at the borders. she was close to cursing herself for her lack of being aware yet she supposed she shouldn't feel that need within the borders anyway so making an effort to remain relaxed; she opted to call out a softly lilting "hey"

RE: alone, even here - Aiolos - December 11, 2019

sounds perfectly fine to me!

There came another - small, lithe, though not delicate and fragile as he saw @Sacnite as. Her ears back, she slinked forth to the falls like the true predator she was. He thought, perhaps, she had caught the sight of food, how she moved, though her movements only ended with her coming to sit down by the falls. Fiery eyes study her and he comes to take note that she is the female he had spotted slinking away in the brush of the forest once before whilst he was tasked with escorting a trespassers from their lands.

She turns, taking a moment to notice him but only just that movement. His eyes fall from her, casting to the side and out to the small lake before them, as though to cover the fact that he had been watching her. It seemed the majority of the wolves within the Vale were female. Even the youth who had first greeted him here and the odd boy with the snakes on his neck seemed have gone. Aiolos would have to prove himself if he were to be of any worth to these women. Staring was not the best start.

Hello ma'am. He introduced and, as a start to small talk... Nice little spot in the dark hu? He questioned, gesturing with his cream-lined muzzle to the broken falls.

RE: alone, even here - Tundra - December 19, 2019

a soft swish of her long tail brings it to lie neatly over minute paws as shaded eyes peer forth, met by his burning embers and ever oblivious to his previous hasty look out towards the waters. the inklings of a smile trace her slender muzzle as her head dips at the introduction, so formal and yet containing no jest; it appeared completely sincere. never had she been referred to as 'ma'am' and as little a detail it may seem to be for some, her mind catches on it and snickers at the idea of its host resembling such a thing.

her tongue pulls idly across pearly fangs as dark eyes shift out towards the scenery, inhaling the crisp air deeply as she nods once more. "indeed...she should say more and yet is caught at an absolute loss, ears tilting back slightly as a paw moves distractedly through the long grass. tundra never was one to feel self conscious but had began to wonder if she really fit in with these wolves at all; she felt like a tainted shadow shifting amongst these spirits and tainting their purity. yet maybe it was just doubts to do with the recent scuffle with the silver girl. eyes lift slowly to focus steadily on the stars, twinkling as they trailed the sky in their blazing glory. her tail flicks free once more as a breath pushes free from her jaws and she drops focus back to the fiery man; such a polar opposite to her own cool tones. "so do you also enjoy wandering under the moon's watchful eye?it's asked with a genuine curiosity, perhaps just mere coincidence but both times she'd come to see him now had been amongst shadows and silver hues.

there was something about the hours where the night reigned supreme, tundra always felt better...more grounded perhaps and it was often a shock to her that some wolves were content to sleep it away. of course sometimes she had no choice but she tried to give it as much time as she could anyway. shoulders drop slightly as her gaze is tugged off to the broken light rippling across the dark waters once more, weariness threatening her neutral demeanour.

RE: alone, even here - Aiolos - December 20, 2019

She turns to him with a shaded gaze, chocolate eyes set deep onto such a light coat that they seemed dark, dangerous... She dips her muzzle in a formal manner of greeting, one which he had yet to been introduced with since coming to the Teekon Wilds and yet all too family to him from which he had come. She agrees and takes her attention back to the waters and then, to the skies. He is content with this, only ever silently shifting his gaze between her and the lake and now as she lifts her head so does he - to the stars. He needs not speak, having been in a tribe once where men were not often conversed with unless in demand or scorn.

She speaks then as her snowy crown falls downward and back into his direction. A question of the moon brought to him. I do. I have always trusted the moon will guide me through the darkness. He agreed, his amber attention spying an opportunity to look over her yet again. She of ice and he, of fire.

Stretching out in his placement to allow his back to arch and tail to reach for the night sky, he lifted up and placed himself then in a sit. Besides, He began. Its much easier to hunt with the shadows to cloak you and the heat of the sun not wearing you down. Lifting out of his sit then, he brought himself to the small lake bed and took a drink from the cool waters.  His ginger ears twitched, listening to the trinkling waters and the words of his companion.

a soft exhale as small smiles trace her pale jaws, feathered tail never content to lay still as it swished across swaying grasses. so he is a fellow night wanderer, she's surprised to find how pleased it makes her feel; such a scrap of familiarity amongst what felt so foreign. there were little things tundra believed in, from her scepticism towards the gods worshipped by the native blackfeather wolves to those that believed fate lay out paths with set destinies. yet the night sky with its ethereal beauty, she believed it was some sort of phenomenon even if she failed to go as far as to believe twinkling stars were the watchful gazes of lost ones. cute idea and perhaps a good coping mechanism but the stars were simply what they were; powerful, beautiful, cold but nothing other than stars. nevertheless she holds back on diving too deep into such thought processes, simply murmuring with a quiet intensity. "yes i do believe the moon is worth trusting, she looks out for those the sun doesn't care for..okay perhaps a little deeper than she'd intended to go for and formerly pressing eyes tear away from his gaze to look away in a somewhat bashful manner.

usually so stoic and to the point, she found it hard not to cringe at her own insightful words even if they were what played within the complex of her mind so often. she casts a sidelook his way once more as he moves, the light dappling his unique pelt so that he glowed like an otherwordly fire in the silver light. it suited him, much prettier than the harsh light of a sun dripping flame she thought. she nods along when he looks into the more practical side of it, amusement twinkling in the form of reflected stars as she glanced upwards once more whilst he moved to take advantage of the cool waters. "you're definitely not wrong thereit's hummed in agreement as she drinks in the crisp air greedily.

running an idle tongue along black lips, the phanthom like being rolls back tired shoulders and makes the mental decision to let herself slip free from the soldier and embrace the full witching hour, body relaxing lightly as she drops large eyes to his form; smile slowly gracing her features. "maybe a little cliché of me but...i really do love the starsher eyes mirror the sky perfectly as her snout tilts upwards; large inky orbs dotted with reflected silver lights. such a clear night, it would never lose its beauty to her.

She speaks, and, but a moment later tears her bashful expression from him, his fiery attention no longer locked onto the dark earthy depths of her own. He smiles, pleased with her thoughts on the moon. If anything, the Sea Goddess could be very cruel and cold, but the Moon Mother always seemed to guide and comfort as though they were two different sides of a coin. Besides, even if you were not near the Sea, no matter where you go, the Moon was always there for you. I'd imagine that's why, after all, we lift our heads and sing to the moon, not the sun. Aiolos mentions on behalf of howling, spoken as he finishes a drink of cold, crisp waters.

Her words are cool, wispy through the chilled air like the tendrils of long fur of her tail which restlessly dance along the forest floor. He lifts his burning crown, red ears perked as she speaks, her head tilt to the heavens. The stars dance in the darkness of her eyes, and he smiles. Blushes, perhaps, hidden in the red of his coat. So do I... A near whisper of his tongue and his amber attention tears from her and to the sky. Stargazing on a quiet, clear night, never got old.

He would test the waters then, but not with the springs but the female near them. Olo moved a bit closer, keeping a comfortable distance, and paused there. Call it cliche too, but the spring here makes it all the more lovely. He ammits a small chuckle, I'm a sucker for the seaside. The sound of the falls is calming. Might make a den here, I think.  After all, he would be at least staying till spring and when the weather got bad and storms raged, a shelter would be needed. Here along the rock face near the borders seemed the perfect secluded spot.

RE: alone, even here - Tundra - January 05, 2020

soft hums slip forth in agreement at the touch of his words; there was something very appealing about his aura, softly soothing and it seemed only fitting that she'd come across him under the winking moon at such a serene location. a small shiver dances nimbly along her spine as his voice drops to snake forth and cradle velveteen ears in the softest of tones. inhaling deeply, she relishes in the sting of air sharpened by the chill of the night. there was no air like what was found under the clearest of star sprinkled skies, the quality of its sharpness as it made eyes water was enough to be dizzying. she believed wholly that those bewitching celestial bodies had to be the cause of that, like flames of ice not possible on the earth they tainted the air with gaseous ice just like how earthly fire polluted them with smoke. of course such ethereal orbs would have a much more appealing nature, it is what made them quite so dazzling. "have you heard of constellations? certain stars band together to make different shapes and over time wolves have developed names for them.murmurs lilt forth to dance slowly in the frigid air and settle calmly about her companion.

eyes drop to roam his fiery frame briefly before musing "funny how they're...everywhere, no matter where we go. it's hard to wrap your head around if you really think of like, howshe chuckles lightly with a shrug of slender shoulders. better to not look too hard into these things she supposed, they would never be willing to subject such secrets to infinitesimal beings like themselves so they might as well grow content to marvel from afar.

having instinctively glanced upwards once more, it is only out of the corner of her eye that she notes the sedate nature of slow movements to bring him closer. not a muscle shifts in her relaxed frame side the amused upturn of charcoal lips as ears tilt forward to catch what he goes on to utter. "the sea...she echoes, eyes dropping to fully grasp at his flaming orbs. "i've only been in her presence once but it was when the world was sporadic and angry and she was raging, literally eating away at the land we all rely on so much. i was awed and terrified, quite spectacular alright. i must return sometime...there truly had been nothing like it, words failed her in any attempts to truly explain just what that crashing body of water had evoked within her but it was...something else. shifting her position lightly to avoid threats of stiffening muscles, she nods curiously "look at you with the penthouse suite" another laugh escapes free into the night air as the sylph takes a few dainty steps to reside right by the waters edge only to drop to a crouch, tail streaking out behind her ghostly frame as she gazed at the dark waters and how the stars danced on its broken ripples. truly beautiful.

RE: alone, even here - Aiolos - January 08, 2020

She speaks again, her voice calming, like a night lullaby. He doesn't know what she speaks of, these constellations, though he is interested none the less which shows so with the slightest tilting of his skull. Actually, I have not. He pauses long enough to turn his head up to the sky once more, the blackness endless, as far as the eye could see. It must be some kind of magic of the Gods, I could only imagine. Their abilities lie far beyond what we could ever dream. It was like the ocean in that manner but, you could turn your back to the Sea and go inland. You could not do that with the Moon and stars. This, perhaps, is why Aiolos secretly found himself favoring the Mother Moon over Mother Sea. Her endless guidance and companionship. The Sea too could be far more cruel, raging and not to mention, the place in which Nereides sacrificed their sons.

Realizing he had spoken aloud on his Gods, he gazed her reaction of this. It was at this time too, she noticed he had come far more closer to her. She did nothing to reveal being unsettled. Not even a tensing of her muscles or rise of hairs. Only a smile and then a tilt forward of her ears in interest. Yes. The Sea can be very cruel and unpredictable,  untamed unlike any other body of water you can imagine. Both beautiful and terrifying.

When she moves, lifting and laughing as she glided (yes, glided!) towards the waters edge, he smirks, taking long strides on willowly limbs into her direction. Standing at her side, eyes overlooked her crouched form and then outwards over the waters, looking as she. He breaths in deep the crisp air and with it, her scent. I can accompany you when you decide to visit the Sea again. I try to visit as often as time and weather allows. He could only hope she might agree. She was a pleasant woman - beautiful, calming voice and playful laughter and not to mention seemingly so passionate about what she loved. She was definally someone worth spending his time with and getting to know. These constellations you speak of... do their shapes have any meaning to them?
