Footfalls and flowers - Fang - August 05, 2014 for @paarthurnax :3 blah, Fang is so hard to work with at the moment. I'm sorry for bad start post ;-;
RE: Footfalls and flowers - Paarthurnax - August 06, 2014 Paarthurnax struggled to understand the bad blood between Swiftcurrent Creek and The Sunspire, though she wasn't sure that she wanted to ask someone about it. As a member of the pack, she supposed it was right that she carry her equal share of the obvious dislike for their neighbours, but it simply want in her nature to harbour hate. And at the same time, the scarlet beauty did not wish to give her comrades any reason to dislike her for not having their backs.
The worry over it made her head hurt, so Paarthurnax did not hesitate to cross the invisible borders for the first time since she'd joined Swiftcurrent's ranks. It felt good to get away from the tension that resided at home, to leave her solemn thoughts behind, and her heart leapt when she found herself amid a field of glorious wildflowers. She paused in her tracks to admire the view at the brow of a hill, to breathe in and fill her lungs with the sweet aroma. Paar remained there for several minutes, her copper eyes bright with wonder, before she let go and sprinted full-pelt down the slope and deepwr into the meadow. She sent petals of various shades - purples, pinks, oranges, reds - fluttering into the air around with every stride, and she ran without a care in the world. She hopped over rocks and uneven ground with utmost grace, galloped through streams, picked up her pace on the flat, and sped through the dappled shadows beneath the trees, directly past the male who rested there. **like this RE: Footfalls and flowers - Paarthurnax - August 06, 2014 She did not slow. Paarthurnax weaved between the foliage without a care in the world, her tongue lolling as she panted. When the cluster of trees came to a sudden end and open terrain was visible again, the crimson beauty veered to her left and began her loose ring around them. An unexpected wuff of greeting caused her ears to prick, but still she did not slow. She circled again toward the call and, seeing a male begin his own run in her direction, she grinned mischievously.
Paar thundered through wildflowers toward him, making no inclination to stop, and when there was a mere couple of yards between them, she propelled herself into the air. She soared over her pursuer and landed on nimble paws, picking up where she left off and yipping a gleeful response: catch me! it seemed to say, and she snuck a brief glance over a crimson shoulder for any sign that her new play-mate might be catching up to her. RE: Footfalls and flowers - Paarthurnax - August 06, 2014 She saw the unfamiliar male pull himself together and pick up his pace once more, and Paar slowed considerably to let him catch up. Soon he was hot on her heels, and she began to swerve from left to right, her tail flagging. It was when she tried to sneak another peek at her play-mate that she lost her footing and, with a surprised yelp, was sent tumbling through the wildflowers.
In a flurry of flailing paws, petals and pollen, Paarthurnax finally flopped to her side among the colourful plants in a laughing, sneezing mess. RE: Footfalls and flowers - Fang - August 06, 2014
RE: Footfalls and flowers - Paarthurnax - August 06, 2014 When it was proving too much to laugh and try to regain her breath at the same time, Paarthurnax hoisted herself onto her belly and panted heavily, tongue lolling. The two-toned male turned to face her, and close the distance between himself and her with a few long strides.
Her tail flopped lazily, and she beamed up at the wolf who'd so quickly become her play-mate. "Never been better," the crimson beauty chirped, and heaved a breath. "I'm Paarthurnax. You can call me Paar."> RE: Footfalls and flowers - Fang - August 06, 2014
RE: Footfalls and flowers - Paarthurnax - August 06, 2014 She beamed her most winning smile, clearly satisfied at having made such an impression. She'd always been a flashy girl, eager to be in the spotlight but destined to remain in the background.
Paarthurnax followed her companion's gaze and looked around her at the skid marks in the ground, the flowers slung all around, broken and irreparable. She sneezed once more, and with a twitching nose Paar looked back to the playful male with mischief in her eyes. "Just can't help myself," she said, her tail thumping the ground. RE: Footfalls and flowers - Paarthurnax - August 09, 2014 Paarthurnax flopped over onto her side, and raised a slender forelimb to bat her her new-found companion as he lowered to his haunches beside her. It felt good to let loose around someone - be herself, rather than having to worry about who was in a sour mood, or her duties to the pack. She exhaled heavily, relaxed and content, and cocked a brow at Fang's playful comment.
"Only the pretty ones," she said, stretching out to hook a crumpled violet flower beneath her dainty paw. Paar dragged it across the dirt toward her until it was gripped by her claws, then swung it in Fang's direction with a mischievous grin. RE: Footfalls and flowers - Fang - August 09, 2014
RE: Footfalls and flowers - Paarthurnax - August 10, 2014 Paarthurnax growled softly when Fang reacted to her playful prodding with a chomp at the air toward her, though she was far from serious. Her feathery tail quickened its beat and she eyed the two-toned male as he lowered himself beside her, forelimbs stretched out before him, and inched toward her. Paarthurnax gathered herself onto her belly again. Sneakily she stole a bump of her muzzle to his pale cheek, then jerked her muzzle away to avoid retaliation.
But he nipped at her again, his teeth grazing the tufted crimson fur of her ruff, and she grumbled in playful defeat. "Beauty sleep, hm?" Paarthurnax laughed heartily, appreciating that he'd played along with her playful comment rather than taking offense. She recalled Viinturuth's sulking when she poked fun at him in a similar manner when they'd been younger - that old sourpuss. "Do forgive me for interrupting. Another hour's snooze and I bet you'd be glorious." RE: Footfalls and flowers - Fang - August 11, 2014
RE: Footfalls and flowers - Paarthurnax - August 17, 2014 Paarthurnax puffed out her chest in mock pride, and wore an equally pompous grin when Fang dubbed her as the "beauty from Swiftcurrent", though she was prompt to deflate at the mention of Sunspire. Her expressed disappeared, replaced by one that could only be described as fearful, and she gawked at her companion with coppery doe eyes. "Sun... spire?" She swallowed, and pulled herself onto her paws.
What would Bazi say, if she knew that she'd been frolicking in the flowers with a wolf of their enemy pack? Paarthurnax' heart began to race, and she turned away in preparation to leave. "I should go," she suddenly and solemnly announced, consumed by guilt and the urge to get away. RE: Footfalls and flowers - Fang - August 18, 2014
RE: Footfalls and flowers - Paarthurnax - August 18, 2014 Paarthurnax ducked her head, and shamefully gazed at the flowers as she continued through the meadow in the direction of her home. She heard her former play-mate pull himself to his paws and make his way after her, but she did not look back. Instead she squeezed her copper eyes shut, trying to ignore the guilt she felt for leaving him there. Surely not all Sunspire wolves could be bad? And why was Swiftcurrent so against them?
Unable to understand Fang's words, she paused in her tracks to contemplate them. Almost timidly she lifted her crown and looked over a slim shoulder, at the frown that tainted his features. "What do you mean?" Paar asked, confusion present within the copper of her irises. "You either are, or... you aren't?" RE: Footfalls and flowers - Fang - August 18, 2014
RE: Footfalls and flowers - Paarthurnax - August 31, 2014 Last one from me!
She listened, but not patiently. Paarthurnax wasn't sure whether or not to believe his words; if he did not want to stay at the Sunspire full term, then why did he remain? Why not just go his own way, and seek something better as a loner? Swiftcurrent was obviously not on good terms with them, which made her uneasy, and so she felt uncomfortable despite his assurances. "I'm sorry, I..." what? "I have to go." And she hurried off without looking pack, without stopping even if he called out his objection. |
