Caiaphas had not been at the Sound, and so, Raleska turned for home. Home. The word seemed strange to her, alien - it didn't fit on her tongue or form in her heart. It felt like an abstract, and she found herself mentally correcting back to the Plateau.
She expected Rosalyn might be disappointed in her, and so she took her time returning. Her feet were positively dragging - she hardly noticed the forest changing to coastal scrubland, to stony vistas where the stormy sea gurgled below.. With her gaze on the ground Raleska started to kick along a pebble in thought, her lower lip bitten in apprehension.
