yard sale - Finn - August 06, 2014 1,2,3. After taking--yet another--deep breath, the Kappa poked his head inside the water, his maw open and ready to snap when the light brush of a fish's fins touched his mouth. He wasn't having much luck today, after three failed attempts he was beginning to wonder if his fishing talent had deserted him. He whipped his head out of the water after the last air bubbles had slipped from his nose, and at the same time he shook the silvery threads of water off his face he gave a frustrated growl. He was hungry, yet no matter how hard he tried fish would not be part of today's menu. Unless.. The form of a darker animal standing by the shore made his ears prick. An otter stood at the very edge, munching on a fat and juicy trout. For a second the creature's eyes interlocked with the boy's olive orbs. Stupid otter, mocking the hungry male by eating such delicacy in front of him. Since he had joined the Plateu he had given up scavenging. Now that he belonged to a pack he did not need to pick on left overs to survive. Yet the otter's smug face was a trigger for the reckless male. He curled his lip back and gave the critter a menacing snarl hoping to at least ruin his delightful meal. RE: yard sale - Shadow - August 07, 2014 I finished writing the reply then accidentally left the page and now I have to rewrite everything....
Almost there, almost. The silvery explorer ran, his destination clear in his mind. He was almost there. It seemed as if exploring had became part of his schedule. Wake up, leave the Creek, explore. He was spending less and less time at home, less time patrolling the borders, less time hanging out with his packmates and less time training. He smiled wistfully as he recalled the spar he had with Scimitar, maybe when things had settled down, he'll go for another.
He skidded to a halt, his destination only a few pawsteps away. As he walked towards it, he vowed that after this trip, he would spend more time at home, patrolling the borders, getting to know the newbies, spending quality time with his packmates. And spend more time with Paarthurnax, a small part of his brain whispered. Shut up! Shadow growled in his head. At the sight of Otter Creek, the ashen male became oblivious to his surroundings as he dipped his muzzle into the water and lapped up some water, fulfilling his thirst before staring intently at the water for a minute. A silver fish darted forward and immediately the wolf's head went underwater just as a paw shot out and scooped it out of the water. The fish flew into the air, twisting, and landed into the water again, squirming. The platinum male dove in and caught the fish in his jaws. Little did he know, he was only a few pawsteps away from another wolf. RE: yard sale - Finn - August 07, 2014 i hate when that happens :l
The otter barely raised its head at the wolf's menance. Both animals had a great amount of space between them and even with Finn's great speed, he knew he wouldn't be able to catch the slippery mammal. The moment he tried to approach, the creatures would take cover in the water, where Finn's speed was no match. He scoffed and turned his piercing gaze from the animal, deciding that its stinky half-eaten fish was not worth it. The rumbles in his belly soon overpowered the growls in his throat, he would have to look for something else to quell his hunger. The strong craving for fish meat would have to be sated another day.. As he was preparing to leave, the rustling sound of paws falling upon the grass made him turn. It seemed he was not the only one looking for a scaly lunch; another wolf padded slowly to the edge of the creek. Finn watched him silently, wanting to see the newcomer attempt to catch one of the silvery shadows that flashed underneath the surface. To his surprise, the male succeeded in doing what he hadn't been able to do in four consecutive attempts. While he felt a pang of envy prod at his side he kept it hidden under his skin. The young Ollivander didn't mind laughing at himself, that as long as he was the only one laughing. With his tail kept at a neutral position he approached slowly, his steps were light and unpreocupied though loud enough to make himself known. Talk about beginner's luck!, he called while a sly smile crept to his face. RE: yard sale - Shadow - August 07, 2014 "Talk about beginner's luck!" The ashen male raised his head from the creek's waters slowly, the large silver fish dangling from his jaws and and turned to look at the source of the voice. Ears pricking, he'd heard the pawsteps but wondered if the male would really approach him, apparently he had. The silver male walked to the shore and dropped his catch before turning to look at the other wolf. "Beginner's luck, huh?" he snorted, "I'd like to see you try." he stood, tail waving before sitting back on his haunches, wondering what he would do. RE: yard sale - Finn - August 11, 2014 Olive eyes followed the fish's until it flopped lifelessly on the ground. He would've like to have one of his own since the craving for its meat pounded at his belly --was this how pregnant females felt when they got cravings? Whatever. He then raised his eyes and inspected the male's face, he seemed friendly so there was no reason for him to take the joke badly. When he saw his words had roused a positive reaction from him, Finn allowed his tail to sway from side to side. Just like he would've done, the male answered with a challenge. If it were a better day he would've jumped inmediately to prove him wrong but he knew that after four attempts he would not get a fish easily. With that in mind the platinum male raised an eyebrow, and scoffed jokingly, Oh, no I don't want to outshine your great accomplishment with my master levelhe barked and smiled again at the male. do you want to do a friendly spar omg
RE: yard sale - Shadow - August 11, 2014 Ooooh, that'll be great! :)
"Oh, no I don't want to outshine your great accomplishment with my master level." The ashen male smirked at the other wolf, platinum eyes gleaming in amusement.
"Words are empty until proven by action," he said, grinning. "I bet you couldn't catch one fish even if it swam straight in front of you. The silver outrider rose to his paws, awaiting the other male's response. He had never thought that his visit to Otter Creek would turn out like this, with another wolf. He had thought it would be a few fishes alone with a few otters for company but this was much better. RE: yard sale - Finn - August 11, 2014 yusss so when we reach the 10 posts we'll set a sparring thread and then play out the results here :)
Bla, bla, bla. That was all he heard from the ashen male's tanting words. He knew that game to well --hell he was a professional instigator too. He knew he only said that to get the pleasure to watch him fail. But Finn wouldn't give him that pleasure, he had plenty of word tricks of his own to dissuade the other male to forget his challenge. Watch out, we got a philosopher over here!he barked with false surprise, while his wise sayings might speak the truth Finn saw them as a tactic to get him to try --which wasn't gonna happen in his mind. The tip of Finn's tail twitched playfully until the male rose to all fours. He threw his head back and feigned being offended by his previous remark, You don't know who you're talking to!he barked while puffing his chest out, Fisher is my last name, man. And I think that says enough, he barked while taking a step towards him. Finn Fisher. Well add that to his numerous alias lists.
RE: yard sale - Shadow - August 11, 2014 Sounds good to me, :) 'Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, Bla, bla, bla.' xD
"Watch out, we got a philosopher over here!", said the other male. A smirk played at the lips of the silver outrider. "Fisher is my last name, man. And I think that says enough." That drew an even bigger smile out of the silver wanderer. "I highly doubt that!" he called, dark tip of his tail flicking playfully at his remark. The ashen male took a step towards the other wolf, "Ain't nobody giving a damn about your last name." he barked, "Am I talking to the world's worst fisher?" It was amusing to talk to this wolf, and though he probably had better things to do back at the Creek, he decided to stay a while to humor him. RE: yard sale - Finn - August 14, 2014 whoops I always forget to get that out :0
His olive eyes fell upon his silver companion, he was glad to have stolen a smile out of him it was a lot more enjoyable than fightning. Unless it was wrestling, the platinum shaded male was always up for a good ol' game of wrestle. His shoulder slumped with a careless manner as he voiced his doubt at his outstanding fishing skills. Though he was not as impressed as the man claimed not to care what his last name was and later proceeded to call him the worst. Something Finn was absolutely not. Shut up Mr.Uptighthe barked with a hard yet playful tone. If lastnames described personalities or abilities then Shadow's last name might perfectly be Mr. Uptight or Mr.Know-it-all. The young Plateu wolf swinged his tail around and locked eyes with his companion, If you don't believe me then, suit yourself..he barked while the tip of his tail painted a picture behind him. I'm telling the truth thoughhe taunted while rolling his olive eyes with a playful manner. RE: yard sale - Shadow - August 14, 2014 "Shut up Mr.Uptight" the silver wanderer smirked as the other wolf locked eyes with him. "If you don't believe me then, suit yourself.." he rolled his eyes, not actually caring what the other had to say. "I'm telling the truth though," As if. Shadow thought. He doubted that the other was actually telling the truth. "May I ask, what is your name? Your first real name." he smirked, he wished to have the honor of knowing his opponent's real name. He deserved to know it, did he not? The ashen male took another step forward, platinum eyes gleaming, tail flicking as he watched the other wolf's next move. RE: yard sale - Finn - August 16, 2014 He was a good fisher that part was true. The part of being the all-mighty lord of fishing and actually wearing a related last name was total bullshit. Still it wasn't like Finn to admit he was wrong -- every flaw he had really was torturous for him to voice. Alright, if it's really necessary,he barked while giving one of his ears a twitch, he did not mind giving out his name actually but now that the joke was based on his fake identity he would've preferred the real him to remain anonymus. My name is Finn,he barked while meeting his eyes with his own olive ones. Once that his companion stepped a bit closer, an idea crossed the silver male's mind. He watched him with interest as the little wires and engines in his brain puffed out steam. RE: yard sale - Shadow - August 17, 2014 Wanna get the spar thread up after this post? :)
"My name is Finn," Finn, huh? The silver wolf flicked his tail, pawing the ground waiting for Finn's next move. He never made the first move in a fight, always waiting for the other to get impatient and make a wrong move. And it was easier to analyze his opponent, his personality and what kind of move he would make. It was no different here. Ears swiveled forward, directed at the other male. He was ready. His muscles tensed, ready to leap away or defend himself if Finn made any move. His tail rose, flicking in a challenging manner, goading the other male to make a move. Patience had never been the silver wanderer's best quality, but in fights, patience was what made him a winner. RE: yard sale - Finn - September 15, 2014 wrapping this because it oooooooooold, feel free to conclude according to the spar's ending
He didn't even allow the other male to introduce himself, once the words had left his lips and the wheels in his brain had stopped turning, the platinum covered boy lunged for the other male, a smile always on his face. Soon both greyscale males began a dance of wits and moves. Finn took advantage of the opportunity to show off some of his mad skills (in his mind) and wow the other male with his sick moves. They lunged, feigned and nipped at each other, both of them proving to be worthy rivals and light-footed sprinters. After a while, however, the silver rocket of a boy grew tired. After they both attemtp to push each other off their feet, Finn shoots a weak nip to the male's neck, only to burst into laughter after his shot is missed. Not bad..he barked with a crooked smile hanging from his lips. Their quick scruffle had sent adrenaline pumping through his veins, something a thrill-junkie like Finn appreciated greatly. |
