please tread softly as you go - Leon - August 07, 2014 OOC: nearby the mt, not actually on it; at the base of the mountain. Boy what a journey it had been getting here. Leon was used to wandering flatlands, plains or even simple rolling hills. It wasn't often he mountain climbed. Despite that, it was a casual hike and climb, taking the easiest ways over until he finally reached the other side of the Sunspire mountain, coming out onto vast fields of green. Still surrounded by rocky slops, he wandered over toward the detached mount Apikuni with light curiosity. The man was simply exploring the new lands that had enraptured him and gave him odd feelings of hope about many things. Maybe he'd find a pack and a home... friends, make himself a family... maybe love. Although he was confident he'd find himself a few girlfriends and boyfriends along that road. Essentially, Teekon Wilds had opportunities ripe for the picking, and boy would he be picking. Curiosity drove the wolfdog into trailing the base of the mountain, looking up. He didn't know if he felt like climbing again, but he did feel like exploring the mountainside. From where he was though he could spot pleasant little groves of trees dotting the side of the hefty mountain. The more he looked the more he would see, later, that this place had a rough past. For now though, Leon simply chose to enjoy the scenic view and fight the temptation to go mountain climbing again. Instead he found himself a nice shady spot at the base of the mountain where pines sheltered him from the sun, and he discovered a tiny little fresh water spring tucked delicately down between two large boulders and further down in the rocks where the little tiny spring bubbled up from below. It smelled nice and clean, so Leon helped himself; quenching his growing thirst after a hard day's travel. RE: please tread softly as you go - Elijah Piers - August 07, 2014 Exploring had always been his thing. He did it for the fun of it – a hobby of sorts. Being in a completely new area meant that he could do a lot of it. He could explore each territory, give them a through check over and maybe do a little discovery hunt. The man wasn't satisfied just being there once. He wanted to know all of their secrets... their history even if he could! Granted, Eli wouldn't be able to register most of it – he typically just got the “important” bits to retell it to his buddies. Buddies... he did have two, sorta. Today his mission was to head south. The mountains in the distance had piqued his interest for some time now, and now Eli was finally able to check them out. His pace was casual – long, sturdy limps carrying him over the rough terrain... debating if he wanted to sleep out here tonight so he could explore the mountain further in the morning. Although he did have some responsibilities now that he wasn't exactly on his own... but he'd make sure to come home tomorrow – he decided. Trotting forward, the agouti caught a whiff of water. His dark ears pointed curiously forward. Pink tongue darted from his jaws to swiftly swipe over his upper jaw. His pace quickened, glad that he could hear the sound of water the closer he got. The shade around this little oasis was nice, too. The mountain ahead seemed to lack shelter itself and the glaring sun wouldn't be too nice on Eli's thick coat. Nonetheless, he was determined to explore whether or not he'd have to work up a sweat! His attention, however, was instantly taken away from his initial plan. His pace slowed until he stopped – head tilting when he spotted the dark grey figure up ahead. Bright blue eyes narrowed somewhat. Slowly, he crept forward... stopping again when the wind moved the right direction. A wolf?! Head tilted one way then the other, Elijah leaned his muzzle down before he reached his right paw up and rubbed furiously at his nose with closed eyes. A few seconds later he stopped, glancing up at the figure again. Jaws went agape, a wide smile on his lips with ears perked forward. Tail was sent wagging madly behind him as the brawny male came charging up towards the stranger. A low, innocent “woof” escaped his lips to warn the stranger that he was coming their way. But for once, he hadn't thought of whether they could be a cannibalistic mad man planning to eat him. All Eli thought was that this wolf looked weird! He didn't have a normal tail and his nose was bright pink. He wanted to see it up close... wanted to touch and see how truly different this wolf was from what he was used to. “Hey! Hey, you!” He shouted, sliding to a stop about twenty feet away from the stranger – playful excitement apparent in his demeanor. “Your tail is all different! What happened to it? Can I touch it?” RE: please tread softly as you go - Leon - August 07, 2014 This little nook was dark and comfortable; he blended in well with the shadows the trees cast and up against the grays of the rocks. Though he stood out like a shadow upon them up close, from afar he would be a challenge to spot. Momentarily he felt fine being entirely alone. But it figured the one time he was wanting to be alone that someone would come across him-- and he couldn't hide in the shade and not move because they had caught his scent and were simply close enough to see he was there. His bright eyes and bright pink nose sure didn't help camouflage him when he needed it. But it was all good. He would've been fine to be alone, but having company wasn't awful either. Especially with the friendly greeting he got from the stranger who had found him in his hiding spot. Before he knew it, they were right there, tail wagging furiously and all. A brow was arched curiously as a calm, stoic expression remained on that dark gray face. He was.... quite large. Not fat! But man, he was a hefty fuck. He looked like he could easily throw that bulk around. He himself by comparison was as skinny as a damn stick. Before Leon could let off a sarcastic remark or question, the stranger obnoxiously tried to get his attention(which he'd already had) before excitedly asking about his tail. Silver eyes glanced back and he shifted where he was, causing the fluffy appendage to move as well. He stood and approached the agouti fellow rather confidently. A smirk had appeared on his lips as he moved over, brushing past the lad and making sure to swat his face with that curly tail of his as he walked by. But he didn't move away-- he simply circled around and came up to the kid's other side with that brow still quirked and that smirk still on his questioning face. "Sure, I guess, if y'want," he finally replied. Though he'd already touched the guy's face with it himself. Those bright blue eyes were insanely attractive; the man himself was handsome as handsome came. He could do more than touch his tail if he so pleased. "Nothin' happened t'it, tho. Came like that when I was born." He shrugged his broad shoulders before rolling them forward; finally his posture relaxed again as his curious silver gaze rested upon that handsome young face. RE: please tread softly as you go - Elijah Piers - August 07, 2014 Dark ears flicked forward curiously, eyes shimmering as if he was silently chanting “Can I? Can I?” He didn't get an answer yet, but surely caught the attention of the taller, dark wolf – he was coming over this way. Stride was confident, yet not particularly aggressive so Eli didn't bother showing any submission. They were both casual. Although he was smirking at him. Elijah gave him a grin, flicking his tongue out at him briefly with ears alertly pointed forward. His chin tucking close to his chest, head tilting somewhat to the right in curiosity. Surely, with his guard down like this, he could easily be taken out despite being a tank-y individual. Eli would much rather be a lover than a fighter, too, so there was that as well. The guy was coming closer and closer though, leaving him confused – was he just being friendly? Was there someone standing behind him? Was he ignoring him? 'What was going on?' Elijah blinked, glancing momentarily over his shoulder – seeing that there wasn't anyone else there and turning back just in time to get a tail in his face. Ears pushed back automatically, nose twitching as the hairs brushed against it and lips parting but he hesitated. Whilst he wanted to snap at it, Eli remembered that this guy was a stranger and he hadn't been granted permission yet to touch it. Eyebrows knitted downwards, jaw clenching with a firm pout on his lips. His head moved, bright blue eyes tracking him as the male circled around. A low whine escaped his lips, thinking that the male was going to leave him there, but instead – he stopped at his side. A big, lopsided smile curved on Elijah's lips, relaxing when he realized he was going to get his conversation and company after all. He didn't get why he pulled that show of his or why he was smirking, but Eli figured he seemed like a nice guy... he did say he could touch his tail after all – explaining that nothing was wrong with it and he had just been born that way. Eli, however, was much too distracted by the subtle movement of the fellow's unique pink nose. Abruptly, he reached his forearm forward, attempting to angle the stranger's head down a bit. Ears pointed forward with tail batting back and forth, gently beating on the guy's hindquarter. Eyes inspected the nose for a moment, staring at it with such an intense gaze until he pulled his nose toward it – sniffing and breathing in the air the stranger exhaled. Lips parted then, tongue rolling out to lick the front of his nose. “Your nose isn't hurt either,” he stated the obvious. RE: please tread softly as you go - Leon - August 08, 2014 It was with obvious curiosity that Leon watched the brown-colored lad. He could tell he was quite a quirky fellow already just by how he held himself and spoke. He acted young, also-- plus he was large in build, but still had the youthful body of a still-growing pup. So maybe that's why his personality was so... adorable. He was just a young guy! But from his own personal experience, wolves tended to mature a bit more at this stage. Leon fancied things that were out of the norm. Maybe the lad would hold onto that excited youth his entire life rather than maturing out of it like most pups do. The confusion on that pretty face was satisfying for a moment before he himself became confused. As he stood at the shorter male's side, the guy had the balls to use his arm to push his face downward-- the only thing that kept him calm was the tail of the lad wagging against his rump and the realization that he didn't really care that much. Hot guy was touching him. There was nothing to complain about there! Leon's bright eyes remained upward, trying to keep contact with those expressive blues and trying to judge what must be going through the kid's mind. He must be a touch special in the head for acting the way he was with a stranger, this was certainly extremely odd and might normally get him attacked. But the dark man wasn't aggressive, especially when he fancied the one oddly manhandling him. He did feel his lithe muscles begin to tense in anticipation of what the guy was going to do next; that face was lowered and after exhaling once he began to hold his breath. Then a soft, wet pink tongue made contact with his damp pink nose and caused a brief gravelly chuckle to escape from Leon. This guy definitely had the Hughes man wanting to be friends now; an odd strange encounter had hopefully gained him his first buddy within these new lands. "Ye," he said as he finally lifted his head and showed off a toothy smirksmile; one ear was tilted back and his curly tail was wagging slowly but consistently now. "'Nother inherited sexy trait." The smirksmile became somewhat cocky for a moment before softening again. His face echoed the amusement he felt and the happiness he gained from the random interaction. The stranger managed to bring out a part of him that hadn't come out since he last saw dear Trigger-- the frisky, playful Leon. "'M Leon by th'way," he said suavely, tipping his head to the side slightly with a charming smirk before bumping his nose back into the blue-eyed man's and moving away to face him at an angle. His tail was beginning to wind up wagging faster and faster. He was up to something. RE: please tread softly as you go - Elijah Piers - August 14, 2014 Sorry for the wait, baby <3
Of course, normally Elijah wouldn't be doing this. Sure, he was a nice guy and this is how he acts around his buddies and the people he knows. But this was a stranger. It was only because something in his gut told him to trust this guy – that he wouldn't hurt him. If he did, the feeling of betrayal that he'd feel would be terrible and intense, but alas, the lad was relatively calm about this. Elijah inspected him like he was a fascinating creature that he'd never see before. His ears were perked forward – blue eyes narrowed slightly in focus with his tail wagging behind him. He grinned widely the moment the guy chuckled at him. He had a nice laugh. Eli liked the sound of his voice, and it was always nice to hear someone happy. It made Elijah happy, too, like his goofy personality was good enough to make someone's bad day a bit better. He knew it would be worth it, but he felt fulfilled. His chest puffed and he took in a deep breath – wiggling happily with his expression softening. Eyes drooped – although he was quick to tilt his head the moment the guy spoke. He had this accent of sorts. Maybe that was why Eli liked his voice. He sounded different, just like how unique he looked. He was special. He was kind. He didn't attack Eli, and could have easily snapped at his face – done some real bad damage there. The lad was cocky and seemed full of himself, taking Eli's movements as compliments. Something about that made Eli happy – glad that he hadn't taken his actions as something negative. This guy was proud of being different... something that the agouti male could admire. The tanky lad watched him carefully. “You're cute,” he bluntly stated – grinning wide and only pulling his lips closer together as the dark grey lad booped his pink nose to Eli's. “I'm Elijah, or you could call me Eli! Nice to meet you, Leon!” So Leon was his name... It sounded easy to say, unlike Tuwawi's. He quite liked simple names – they made it harder for him to screw up and made it easier to remember. Although, he had to say, he thought he'd have an overly complex prince-ly name to fit his appearance. Head tilted as Leon moved away, angling himself and wagging his tail. Eli flashed him a grin in response, obviously looking confused and clueless about what Leon was planning. TABLE BY JOHN · STOCK BY KATI H. @ DAWNTHIEVES |
