somehow, over the past week, she'd come to a decision. it felt firmly the right one, and as soon as the last bit of certainty fell into place, she neared the main denning sight and called for the leaders. she was resolute as she waited for them to arrive, chin set and settled firmly on her hindquarters. once one or both had arrived, she offered her proposition. "I'm going to leave. Not forever—a fortnight, or a month. I want to test myself." it was more than that, too, but she could not quite distinguish, nor articulate aloud, anything further than her desire to test herself. she'd barely left their borders, interacted only with those within them, and believed fully it put her at a firm disadvantage.
