hidden - RIP Desdemona - January 01, 2020

The Pale

The night had fallen so deep, that it came upon her body in exhaustion. She knew it was time to take a rest, for tomorrow was another day to guard, but for now, she would let her joints be at pease. Up the mountain was always a different journey, for her jaden eyes gazed within the fog, only to think one would gaze back, and to recieve silence. Since her time here it never went away, always remaining, always wrapping around Desdemona- but she persisted. To get used to this hidden area, to throw herself through the viel.

Though difficult, her ears always twitched, she could hear them, but couldn't see them. Something always seemed around, and it unsettled the dame for she couldn't detect where. Always moving, and she too would move away. Up the mountain, she treaded.

RE: hidden - Jarilo - January 01, 2020

Night had come to welcome him home, and he took himself readily into its comfort--heading up the mountain after another trip out roving in the lands beyond, now finally dropping his trot down to a prowl of a walk. It always felt good to be back, even despite any restlessness that drove him off. Just checking in with the pups, passing by the rendezvous, then inward, upward.. he simply felt better once he was back home, despite any necessity that drove him out in the first place.

He had not originally intended to track after the scent of the newcomer, but he realized swiftly he was well on his way based on where the mountain dictated. Jarilo didn't let this suspicion slow him any though, and supposed if he encountered her, he'd.. find out more once that happened--if that happened. There were a good handful of new faces on the mountain, not that he often interacted with most of them right away; lately, this was especially the case when he liked to stay busy close to the family. It was in his best interest, however, to keep keen to who joined and came up among them.

Surefooted, he navigated on upward--thinking he might not be so far.. not that visibility was good enough to say for sure yet.

RE: hidden - Lyra - January 03, 2020

There had been many newcomers upon their mountain, the most interesting of which was the dark female Lyra remembered from Morningside, a place where Alya had taken residence up for a while. She had been a stern wolf, she recounted, overly formal and unrelenting in her stoic nature. To say Lyra hadn't been enthused after their first encounter would be putting it lightly, but she wondered if the woman had changed any. She had managed to at least appeal to Hydra's tastes enough to be taken in by the Queen, but the other head of the Cerberus was much more difficult to impress.

She came across her scent on her way up the mountain, and Lyra paused as she took it in before turning to follow the trail. Perhaps this would be good a chance as any to speak to the woman. She slowed as Jarilo's scent then made itself known, its strength indicating he was ahead of her by only a few paces. However, the heavy cover of night and fog both made it difficult to make out his pitch-furred form. With long, loping strides, the triplet made to catch up to her brother so they could intercept Desdemona together.

RE: hidden - RIP Desdemona - January 05, 2020

Desdemona halted, and became on guard, "Who goes there?" Her voice rang out roughly, a demand to know who skulked about but did not let weakness slip. She knew by the scents there would be packmates about, but could not tell who within the dense fog. Jade eyes squinted through the white air, trying to see who it would be, or where they would. She could detect not one, but two to travel their way near her. The charcoal girl could not tell however, if they were together or simply happened to meet up- but nontheless, they seemed near enough.

She couldn't deny it gave her fustration to not know who was who yet, only being able to tell the difference between very few. Though most, including herself, tended to keep afloat to their own. Not to mention she felt weakened, tired, she wasn't in the best state if these were hostile entities. But with their smell, Desdemona did not believe so, at least.

RE: hidden - Jarilo - January 10, 2020

Forward had, at first, been where his focus had gone but along the way of his trackings, all nose down, ears up effectively on the prowl.. but soon came that familiar foreshadowing that told him he was not alone. He turned back an ear, slowed up a few steps, and let the darkness of his sister come to his side knowingly--for he was at least twice as sharp now, and maybe, a bit more eager to proceed. Rumbling a very low, very quiet hello, he was glad to see her.

So he didn't dally long and wordlessly, glanced to Lyra for a smirk of mischievous teeth before picking up a better pace than before, up and beyond. He knew these routes though, easily able to slip along undisturbed, to bring him closer--when such a harsh voice rang out, helping him pinpoint where he'd need to be soon. Asking like that, though, what did she expect to answer? He didn't come with foul intent, not necessarily.

Not knowing much about this stranger kept his options open and he had already planned on a forward approach, though he was curious of what kind of pace Lyra might set about the matter too. He was open to suggestion, feeling flexible, but definitely not used to someone he wasn't related to talking to him like that here, up so high where he had always been. The Ostrega's brows quirked with interest however and he kept going closer after an attempt at an arc.. as well as the mountain allowed, to bring him striding confidently closer. Even when he was sure she would see him, he didn't quite feel like stopping entirely any sooner than necessary. Am I interrupting something..? he asked, not quite as prickly as she went at them, but he definitely heard the tiny lilt of his leer color his humors.

However, since she had asked, he would tell before she could completely write him off as an asshole for questioning with a question. Who goes there? Lightly, he paused. I'm Jarilo, and Lyra was up to her, but as for him, he let it all be plain to see.

RE: hidden - Lyra - February 05, 2020

Jarilo's wordless greeting and trickster grin was met with a flash of Lyra's own teeth, and she fell into step with her brother as they tracked the newcomer. Even before she had let out a demand, it had been easy to follow her trail, her voice just let them hone in on her exact position. Although...what a curious question to ask while in the safety of their borders — if one had been accepted into Moonspear by the Queen surely they knew they had nothing to fear up here. Not unless they were hiding something.

The two Ostregas moved in tandem before finally they came upon the figure of the slim woman, everything about her posture indicating she was alert, cautious. Jarilo moved forward self-assuredly as Lyra followed casually behind him, eyes never leaving the newcomer. She did not offer her name as her brother had done, instead letting the tip of her tail flick from side to side as she studied the former guardian of Morningside.

"Desdemona, if I remember correctly?" she said, though they way she spoke left little in the way of self doubt.

RE: hidden - RIP Desdemona - February 05, 2020

She felt foolish thinking anyone had entered the mountains without alarming the others, and admitted to her mistake, "I apologize," Desdemona dipped her head, "you are not." While she did not recognize the fellow who called himself Jarilo whose jokes went over, she did know the inky figure beside the fellow. One of the ceberus who was alongside the Queen upon turning to Morningside for their lost head. However not much of an impression was given, and she assumed she was the quietier head of the three; Alya.

"I am honored you remember me." The spider nodded while she correctly guessed her name, "Morningside is gone from the forest, my pledge is now to Moonspear." Desdemona explained, assuming the other may be perplexed by her appearance, or wary on why she would be on the mountain. Anyone would if they had seen them from a previous pack, she certaintly would.

RE: hidden - Jarilo - February 06, 2020

Unbothered so far, he just dipped his nose in a small gesture towards her apology because good that he wasn't interrupting, at least. She made him think so at first. But after, he was quickly focused on trying tried to gauge exactly how familiar Lyra and Desdemona were with some well-aimed glances between them while he listened. Often, he did not concern himself with great depth in matters between packs. Morningside was something he only knew of distantly, and almost exclusively through the words of his sisters.

As for Moonspear, he was glad to see she had chosen well in coming to them, and suiting Hydra's standards as well--he couldn't relate from any personal experience about a pack fading away around him however, though he heard it play out all across the wilderness beyond enough to know it was relatively frequent. He supposed if she needed something lasting and stable around her after that, here was the place for it. So what do you think so far? Have you been up this way much yet? he asked together enough for her to pick and choose what she replied to, he just wanted to hear more, of any and all of it.
