never stop looking up - Chumani - January 01, 2020

ooc notice here we go!
· · · Light drizzle, visibility (roughly two miles), 33 ° F; a few minutes before sunset

For the past couple of hours, the black Storjford daughter had been sitting on the side of the Little Goat Mountain, tail wrapping itself around the left side of her haunch, as her chin was driven up toward the pastel coloration of the sky, silently admiring the beauty that came with the late sunset hours. The tiny rain shower had come and gone, soaking up her blackened coat while leaving a dewdrops on her withers along the back of her neck and spine. The sun was just beginning to disappear behind the mountain range and play the complex game of peek-a-boo when it fell below the horizon for a couple of hours before lifting itself up the next morning; and whilst the sun was disappearing, the stars came out to play! This was the part that Chumani had been waiting for! She enjoyed watching the stars populate the night-time sky; configuring the old patterns that the black she-wolf had come to known and acknowledge (and while hoping to discover her own constellation someday).
Oh, look...

Her ears rotated and gently pulled themselves up as her dull green eyes glanced toward the dimming sky, noting the first constellation: Phoenix, as she connected the brightening stars that created a triangular shape on the left, dipped down at the point and at the same time, extended outward like a large wing-span that seemed to stretch across the sky. A smile tugged and pulled at the corners of her lips as the constellation of stars were a welcoming sight of the brand new human year.

RE: never stop looking up - Hela - January 01, 2020

she watches the woman that watches the sky, struck into motionless. mother. dark pelt, green eyes. where her mother had dappled white, the woman is spotted with dew. she blinks, hating the burning behind her eyes. it is as if staring into a memory, save the fact she's never been here before. the melonii breaths barely, as if any movement might startle away the figment.

the girl squeezes shut her eyes, willing back the spreading feeling. she is a warrior. she has no time to wish for things lost. cassiopeia is dead, and scylla is gone, and she is here. she shifts, preparing to leave just as quickly and silently as she'd come. but she finds herself hesitating, unwilling.

she lets out her breath all at once, turning back toward the woman. cautiously, somewhat stiff and ever-wary, she approaches, slipping out from the shadows and into sight. this is not her mother. too young, eyes a shade too dark, alive and breathing. she stops a stone's throw away, gaze flicking up to the heavens and back at her. "hello." it's a start.

Her dull green eyes continued to dance around the dimming light as darkness crept over the suspecting world down below, as a contented sigh escaped through her nostrils; taking in a deep breath, holding it for a brief moment before releasing it in a rather calm demeanor, before the black she-wolf's attention was drawn toward the approaching pup—obviously younger than herself. For a moment, Chumani simply stared at the pup, bewilderingly twitching her focus from one side to the next; a bit uneasily. Almost as if she was expecting to come across an escort ( of some sorts ) following behind Hela. But, that clearly wasn't the case! What was the younger pup doing all the way out here? . . . And all alone?
As far as the black Storjford was concerned, she had only known two existing packs within the Sunspire mountain facility; one, she had met a member and the other she had caught several individuals that trekked through the entire range of Sunspire mountains that shared the same scent that was differ than Andraste; but, that later one was merely a speculation that the other pack existed.  In fact, the scent that lingered on Hela was completely unrecognizable. Perhaps another pack?

Hmmm. . .

"Hi there small-fry," she exclaimed back in a half-jokingly manner as there was no ill-meaning for the harmless nickname. Her posture remained still, non-moving as her ears rolled on top of her skull, focusing her dull green eyes upon the younger pup with a quick and friendly flick of her thick wintry tail. She stood there, watching Hela with a mild curiosity. "Come to enjoy the sunset?" Chumani inquired with a mere tilt of her head as her ears drooped to the left.

the greeting is not what she expects, her hackles flare, briefly, before she forces out the tension from her shoulders. "my name is hela." she offers, stiffly, gimlet stare boring into the woman's green. she remains where she is, but sits, perched lightly so that she may spring forward again should the situation demand it. the question goes unanswered as she examines the woman, counting all the ways in that she is not cassiopeia. there are many.

"are you looking at the stars?" comes her rebuttal, gaze returning to the stranger's. she may be poorly suited to interacting with strangers, but once she has found an interest, there is little to deter her from pursuing it—in this case, she is willing to put up with strangers for a time, should they be in possession of knowledge she might learn from.

phone post before bed. excuse the suckyness of this post~

Chumani merely scoffed, almost to the point where she had abruptly laughed in derision in efforts to show how childish the youngling took offense to the meaningless nickname; but, the black she-wolf simply shook her head in subtle response. Since it clearly upsetted Hela, the black she-wolf shrugged it off; crumbling it as if it were a piece of notebook paper and tossing it in the waste basket in seemingly efforts to start over. “Calm down,” the Storjford daughter began with a seemingly confident tone. “I meant nothing by it—”  she announced truthfully, allowing a soft pause to gravitate between her choice of words before her ears rolled up on her head, chin directing itself fully at Hela. “I’m Chumani!”

For a brief moment, her dull green eyes flashed themselves back in the direction of the dimming sky as the sun began to disappear slowly beyond the horizon, but within a few milliseconds, her attention switched back to Hela, curiosity peaked at her inquiry. She was into stargazing like herself? “Yes— I always look at the stars before retiring to bed. Sometimes, I find myself staying up all night because there are so much that stars can tell us!” Chumani stated; of course, many individuals didn’t know the secrets that they held. While the Storjford daughter was only a mere child herself; stargazing was always one of the most fascinating subject that she had learned from her parents and elders in her previous pack ( before, the fire and everyone fled ). Otherwise, if Chumani wasn’t interested, the black she-wolf would have lulled herself off to dreamland and eventually fell asleep. But, that was never ever the case with stargazing!
So, it was a bit obvious in her excited tone that Chumani was more than happy to admit that she was stargazing. And, this was always the perfect time to take a seat and look up at the nighttime sky; as the lights were dimming, an individual was able to see the brightest stars that made up certain constellations and as it got darker throughout the hours of dusk, smaller and less notable stars were finally able to be seen as well.
