we were hungry before we were born - Hela - January 12, 2020 bleeding, limping, she arrives in the central territories. a bloody gash slashes across her neck, weeping blood. a laceration stretches across her shoulder, under her left eye, too. there are many wounds beside, but the pain remains distant for now with the help of burning adrenaline and the tug of duty. the warrior had not made the decision entirely blindly, but faced with her victory, there remain unanswered questions, wariness. but to the pack, she can be nothing but strong. she calls for them then; @Serem, @Black Hat, @Vanity, @Tzila, @Polaris, @Eirwyn, @Ghidorah, @Valour and @Daivya. she waits until they arrive, rigid, tail curled high over her back and features cast into a steely mask. she can not allow doubt to show, in any form, not now. when they are all gathered, she speaks. "Vengeance is dead. I am Warlord now." she pauses, glancing to those who have gathered, gimlet stare resting on those highest ranking. Serem, Tzila, Black Hat, Vanity. She'd thought of this, too, the speed at which she'd have to exert her control, and occupy the empty slot Alison had left. Serem, and Tzila, were her first choices. The latter was steady, reliable, though admittedly the girl knew little of her. Serem was—had been, Vengeance's consort. She is a formidable fighter and a senior member besides, and so the girl makes her decision. "Serem will be my General." in promoting the female, she hopes to waylay a challenge she sense may come from her, while similarly acknowledging her youth and relative inexperience. it is more of a statement than anything, but still she meets the woman's gaze with her own, waiting for an affirmative. RE: we were hungry before we were born - Serem - January 12, 2020 She heard the females call and she was shocked to hear the words that had left her mouth. Serem never thought he could of been felled at least not by the girl and she gave a swift nod. Staying silent as she watched as others came round. Logically serem would have challenged the young girl for power but she knew that if her and veanances coupling took she would be with pups come spring so she would bide her time. RE: we were hungry before we were born - Ghidorah - January 12, 2020 The call had been made while Ghidorah had been minding his own business, how annoying he growled to himself, but he still complied. The sun titan made his way to the gathering, the latter of which had the members of Nightwalkers present, he just got here so he didn't know any faces, well, except one. Ghidorah saw the one who made the call, a young pup with cuts and bruises but her tail was high, he couldn't give two shits about her dominance. Hela announced that she would be the new Warlord now that Vengeance was dead, the news didn't leave the man surprised, in fact, he was disappointed. Pity... I never got to taste his blood myself... The man looked at the girl with a blank expression, it was something of a signature of his since he really couldn't feel emotions, especially fear, or anguish. If Ghidorah couldn't get what he wanted via his battle strength, then he will get his desires via the silver tongue. And that is what he was going to do. RE: we were hungry before we were born - RIP Tzila - January 12, 2020 The Shadow Queen was swift to answer the call. It struck her as curious that it was coming from Hela, and not one of the adults. Trailing the path of blood that weaved its way through the forest, and towards the small gathering. The crimson droplets led to Hela, though the blood was not entirely her own. Mixed in it was the unmistakable stench belonging to Vengeance. Her face contorted into stony mask, chiseled features hardened. Vengeance was dead. Slain by but a mere child, claiming the title for herself. Tzila stared in silent acknowledgement at Hela, unsure of how to feel about what had just transpired. Not of Vengeance's undoing, but of having a youngster in a position of power. On one paw, she was proud for Hela. But on the other...envy stirred deep in her chest. When Serem was appointed as the new General, Tzila was not surprised. Her icy stare hardened on the former Consort. Not in resentment, but in determination. She stood silently with a smooth, powerful roll of her shoulders. Her intention was clear. A flick of her eyes to Hela conveyed her wish to settle this affair after the meeting had drawn to a close. With Vengeance out of the picture and Alison to boot, Tzila had seen her opportunity. She was done waiting, lurking in the shadows. RE: we were hungry before we were born - Valour - January 12, 2020 The call was one that filled him with rage from the get go but to arrive and see her bloody and beaten shocked him. He opened his mouth to ask if she was alright before she dropped the bomb. "okay" The word came out empty. Nothing more than a vocalization of his acceptance of the words she spoke. There wasn't any disbelief, for he had witnessed and fallen victim to her savageness before. Vengeance....the man had proven more than once just how little he deserved the devotion of such powerful, deadly wolves and Valour had been too dumb. He stared at her as everyone gathered in silent acceptance, his expression so chilled and emotionless it was as if he wasnt entirely there. Quite suddenly he laughed "They won't let a kid rule. You're an idiot" the words came out harsh and cold as he turned around and stalked off deciding that she had only made it easier for him to rise to the top himself one day. One post and he's out unless he is spoken to!
RE: we were hungry before we were born - Black Hat - January 13, 2020 The nature of the howl he heard from Hela was eerie, unnatural. He hurried towards it.
She was worse for wear, torn and bleeding. What she said left him in disbelief. He blinked. I beg your pardon! He exclaimed. It was too much to take in, too much was unreal, blurry like a dream. Vengeance, the monster of a man with years over this girl, determined and skilled as she was... bested by her. Dead because of her. He was proud of Hela's achievement, but Black Hat would never ever yield to a child, no matter how fond he was of the girl. No matter how strong she was, she hadn't the slightest idea of how to run a pack, and even with the guidance of an adult, it was too soon. Valour voiced this thought in a much harsher fashion, fueled by envy. He could challenge her easily, for he was her mentor, clearly leagues more skilled than the broad Vengeance was. But he didn't want to rule this lot of villains, or any for that matter. He'd have to speak with her in private after he gathered his thoughts and was done reeling over this surreal reality that still felt like a dream. For now, he mused in silence. RE: we were hungry before we were born - Vanity - January 13, 2020 The Nightwalker, in every sense of the word, prowled upon the gathering at last. She'd kept to the fringes, hearing Hela's declaration and the cries of what was either outrage or shock. Probably both.
How did the Fire-screamer fall the titan? Goliath and David. "Well that is rather unexpected news." Her eyes fell hard on the battered Hela, Vanity herself brushing her shoulder across Black Hat's rump, feeling his brooding simmer radiate. A newcomer, silent. Either shock or not knowing what to expect from a child. Hela, one she'd advised herself. Bested a man Vanity was too incompetent to handle. He got under your skin. "I suggest you make a lot of friends very quickly girl, there are ones within and outside this forest that would do the same to you." She, of course, didn't know what she'd done to Venny, but she'd find and inspect the body. Her eyes didn't leave Hela's form as she circled, pausing by the newly appointed General. Poor, mateless Serem. Such a hard life she has to live. Vanity touched her nose to the base of the shadow's ear, comforting and questioning. Can I at last own you? "You're wise, but be sure who you take advice from." Vanity decided there that she'd adhere to the girl for as long as she was wise. Any slip up, and Vanity wouldn't hesitate to be first in line. |
