The male's words had ruminated in his head the entire treck back from the Quarry. By the time he arrived back at Nightwalkers his mind had been made. He paused at the border, taking one last look at the territory he had put so much potential. He would bury Nix's memory here.
He didn't know where he would go or how he would remake himself, but he knew his time in the Nightwalker lifestyle was over. And with a last, steady sigh, he turned to the lonely life of a rogue.
