Things we lost to the flames - Persephore - February 29, 2020

Persephore loved the smell of the sea. The salty acrid scent of the sea that reminded her of times she actually couldn't recall having but yet seemed so familiar. Times that made her ache inside for a home unreachable to her for reasons beyond her control. There was an ache in her chest that words couldn't fill and that was because she chose loneliness. In her home pack her voice was taken from her by ritual and when she chose to go out into the world she chose to have her ability to preach their religion taken away, to never be allowed home again. Yet she found happiness in the silence for their she could be herself and converse with the side of her she felt unable to love. Her walk slowly changed to one that had dropped their fears, dropped their worried and fears tail held low and wagging as the sound of crashing waves distracted her from her sorrows. It was the season where at home the young would be out for potential suitors and the adults would gossip humorously behind their backs, the fun and games that she had always just watched go down with a smile and warm heart as she wondered when her turn would come. There had been a few men at home who had made an impression upon her heart but she had still chosen to wander the world. Dio her best friend had always outshined her by far yet he was so sweet and always stayed true. She missed him most of all though she didn't know if they would have been a good fit. Roki was a puzzle...she had never understood the cold hot way he had behaved but she was curious about him nonetheless. Then there had been the unnamed man, the one who haunted her dreams. She figured he had many names but she just hadnt met him yet, hence why she left into the world to seek him out.

There was a squawk of a gull and she flinched, ears flattened back against her head before she huffed a sigh and shook out her fur her gait becoming more lively as she walked along making soft crooning sounds deep in her throat like humming as the gulls squawked and swooped down towards her causing her to cower and whine before clicking her teeth at them and hurrying along a bit more warily.
