i've tried to leave it all behind me - Valyri - March 02, 2020 Referencing Tourmaline Garden! AW, @Nefris is welcome to join/cameo and always nearby. As the entrance into the Bay has been marked as of this thread, it’s welcomed to be referenced, too!
Daresay the High Priestess’ heart is clutched within the arms of the Bay, gripped tight by their fingertips the further she treads in. The roaming mountainsides leave much to explore, with secrets around every bend. It is one such bend that leaves Valyri breathless all the more. Tucked within the groove in valley-like fashion are the peaking of fresh buds. The hint of various flowers making themselves known after the harsh snows of winter fade into the early spring rains. It is too soon yet for them to bloom, and Valyri would no doubt be concerned should they, but it is a sign further that this is the place she ought to be. Fluid in movement, she glides towards the mess of wild flowers basked in the chilly, morning sun. There is much work to be done. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Astaroth - March 04, 2020 the commotion and small collection of wolves nearby had not gone unnoticed to the sable wayfarer. he'd ignored them up until now, having little interest in whatever it may be they were up to. but today there was a tug of curiosity when he awoke to the sunrise, an interest to know what their intentions were within the bay.
and so he made his way to the cove with purposeful strides, his attention set on their freshly marked border upon his arrival. he was not one to test the tempers of others when it could be avoided, and so opted for a friendly howl to alert the assumed new residents rather than just march on in. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Valyri - March 05, 2020 And work she does; setting about inspecting the dead and what may come. The soil is well enough for a garden, perhaps good as they would get so close to the sea. Various species could grow through anything, striking against loose sand as if it were nothing, but not all. And if she is to rear any group within these walls, then they need herbs to care for the ill, injured and mothers-to-be.
It is during these administrations that a summon beckons attention; a respectable note that leaves Valyri blooming. Intrigued, she lifts her head. Lips part and answer back; a welcome for the stranger at the door—it’s open. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Astaroth - March 05, 2020 he takes a step forward at the invitation, inky ears swiveling atop his crown as he shoots a few curious glances in each direction. for a moment he considers waiting there, positive someone would make their way towards him after his little greeting. his feet however have a mind of their own, and so it was with an easygoing bounce in his step that he made his way towards the source of the welcoming howl.
eventually he finds his way to the budding meadow, honeyed eyes trailing from the soil to the agouti figure that stood yet a few paces away. a chuff slips from him as he offers a few laid-back sways of his tail, his attention set on the unique details of her hybrid coat. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Valyri - March 15, 2020 With permission acquired, she suspects the wanderer to do as he pleases; to take to the Bay and complete the mission he has at hand, or to find her, if he desires. A game of hide and seek.
Alas, she is not difficult to find, among the meadow she tends to and those of keen ears would follow her melodic voice to the spot. Her head lifts from her tending—she took in honey yellow eyes first, and then the pale nose. Lanky, just as the last had been; Kraken. The Wilds foster many young, it seems, and it brings promise. Hello, she greets with the delicate pulls of a smile upon a downcast muzzle. Heavy-lidded eyes grasp the wag of the stranger’s tail, and her own mimics. Cute. Is there something you need? RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Astaroth - March 16, 2020 it was not common where he came from to see such a rare mix of species. he thought her beautiful in her own right, though could not imagine the challenges she might face with her hybrid dna. "just being nosy i suppose" he announced with a shrug, his attention falling to the budding flowers around her.
"last time i was here, the bay was unoccupied" he revealed, tail falling still as it rest lazily at his hocks. he held no interest in the territory itself, but rather found himself curious as to who had supposedly set up shop here. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Valyri - March 17, 2020 Ah, yes.Curiosity is understandable in such circumstances, and Valyri’s own is piqued following his information—it brings forth the fact he has been around longer that she and Nefris have. He knows these lands, perhaps having investigated the coast further than the girls have. I am Valyri, and my companion is Nefris, she introduces, and as she continues on as she turns to face him, giving him her full attention; we’ve no ill intentions, or desire to cause unrest. The Bay has become a home to us. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Astaroth - March 17, 2020 "i'm astaroth", he introduces with a flick of his ears. he'd only explored the bay briefly, having spent the majority of his time within the territory down by the sea. fondly, he recalls his game with tzila, a smile sweeping across his features just as she announced her desire for this to be a home.
"is it just the two you?" he wonders aloud, curious if their group consisted of just the pair of them, or if there were others who had simply gone unmentioned. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Valyri - March 24, 2020 Well met, Astaroth.Once upon a time, Valyri would have tagged along a title, or perhaps rebelled against the nature of manners in whole. It is odd to think back on it, and even more-so as she realizes the balance she must maintain in this situation; of not being a true pack, nor much of a group, but making her intentions apparent. Yes, for now. There is hope their numbers would rise, but it takes time—understandably, for she must gain the trust of the people. And thus, she poses her own question, returning to the curiosity of his travels; Is your home near? RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Astaroth - March 24, 2020 his brow raises when she reveals it is only her and her champion thus far. he'd never seen the kindling of a pack founding before, and had to admit he found an interest in it. surely it would be exciting to watch them grow in numbers, for he had no doubt they would. with only the two of them they had already established a border around the bay, and so he could only imagine what they'd be capable of when others joined their cause.
"afraid not" he answered to her question, surprised she had not yet noticed the lack of a pack woven in his fur. "i left my home awhile ago and have no plans of returning anytime soon" he reveals. he missed his homeland during some of the lonelier nights, but never had any intentions of returning until he was old and had lived out his life to the fullest. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Valyri - March 28, 2020 Whisps on the wind and the plentiful location would suggest there would be—Valyri and Nefris couldn’t be the only wolves that found themselves lured to the tranquil sanctuary along the coast. She is certain even more realms lurk further in-land, a much needed quest to be uncovered later.
Hm,she hums with the soft dip of her muzzle, sympathizing with his new found allegiance to none. Minrathous had been horrid more than it’d been home, but still, she, too, found herself missing the acquainted parts of it. Those bits that weren’t awful. You are welcome to join us in the Bay, if it ever suits you. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Astaroth - March 28, 2020 her offer was kind and brought forth a gentle sway of his tail while he glanced briefly over her shoulder. "i still have a bit of wandering to do before i settle down, but i will keep your offer in my mind for when my adventures are over." anyone that extended him kindness and offered to open their home to him was worth more than he could place into words.
"i would like to visit during my travels though, if you'd let me?", he asks with a tilt of his head. he saw no harm in trying to make friends along his trips, especially not when the life of a rogue was often lonely and left him craving companionship more than others. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Valyri - March 29, 2020 Ah, a wanderer—fitting the roguish vibes of a boy beyond his year. He suits the image of a young gentleman; charming around the edges with experience to grasp and devour. Dignified with mannerism, yet underneath the surface all the girls wonder what lurks.
Valyri ignores such types, in the past they’ve proven to be trouble and not worth the costs. Yet she finds herself allured against such odds, curious to see if he is more than impressions come across. She likes what she sees. You may visit whenever you need a rest, she invites, pleased. Of course he is welcome for other reasons should he seek it. Might you repay us with tales of your grand adventures? I always enjoy a good story.Especially one with information. RE: i've tried to leave it all behind me - Astaroth - April 20, 2020 his face briefly lit up when she announced he was permitted to visit in exchange for tales of his adventures. "you've got yourself a deal", he let out with a few silent sways of his inky tail. it seemed like it was an easy enough request to fulfill in return for him stopping by every now and then.
after a moment of consideration, he stood and glanced back from the way he'd come. "i don't want to take up too much of your time." she seemed like a busy woman, and she'd already been gracious enough to spare him a moment of her time. "thank you for the company valyri, i'll be sure to visit soon and pay you back with plenty of stories", were the final words to leave his lips before he dipped his head in goodbye and turned to make his exit. |
