Oh sister!A giddy chuckle echoes through trees. It causes quite the stir. Critters scurry out of his path, birds soar to the heavens where they are safe.
Maggooooot,he whispered merrily, then bursted into laughter again.
Oh, where have you gone?
Parasite doesn’t know—or rather chooses not to believe—his kin was gone. He doesn’t want to accept a little storm had separated him from Maggot, the only wolf on this planet that he truly loved and cared for. So he traveled from one place to another each day, calling out her name.
I’m so hungry!He scanned the forest, hoping the exclamation would lure her out. She always loved to join him on hunts!
