famine was quickly learning that there were few things in life worth enjoying. eating was probably his favorite, second only to screaming. while his ears remained plugged and those violet eyes sealed, he would continue to scream to his small heart's contentment.
morning rose outside of the den. the canopy above the haunted wood was too thick for any true light to leak inside, but the residual heat contrasting the cold was enough to alert famine of the change. he flopped onto his side and smiled, happy to be temporarily satiated.
