blow high! blow low! and so sailed we - Kingsley - March 18, 2020 @Marlow! EDIT! forgot to add, this is forward-dated to the 22nd!
While he was without a doubt a lover of the sea, Kingsley would take to traveling inland on the occasion. Usually it was the weather that would force him to the pastures and forests, when the sea grew too fierce for even the strongest of swimmers and nature reminded the land lubbers of her wrath. Today, however, he found himself heading south east despite the rather pleasant weather. No, today, he was simply following his whims. As well as a certain coyote cur who had had the gall to steal from him. It only took a second or two; one moment Kingsley was chowing down on a meaty bone and the next, he was suddenly staring at the quickly disappearing tail end of the bastard. The chase had gone on for miles, the wily creature managing to outrun the gunner and evade capture so far. But he would find him. Oh, he would rue the day he decided to steal from old Kingsley. The scent trail he left behind was strong, easily picked out thanks to the tantalizing smell of the bone that mixed with the coyote's stench. So the pirate followed it, his determined gait falling back into a casual saunter. "Ye can run, but ye can't hide!" he bellowed. RE: blow high! blow low! and so sailed we - Marlow - March 18, 2020 Thank you for getting this up <3
The ocean was always going to be where Marley's heart resided, but the androgynous wolf was not prepared to stick around permanently. Not now. She figured that she would take it in spurts, and enjoy it for a day or two before going back to the forests and fields for a day or two. A trade off, perhaps, but now that she knew where the ocean was, it's not like it was going anywhere. Marlow could have some of her own fun and enjoy herself and then return to the water when she was ready. Marlow padded along the grass, enjoying the sight of the golden fields stretching out in front of her. It was peaceful and nice here, she thought, until... A coyote sped past her, carrying something in its mouth, and the black wolf frowned when she heard someone shouting after it. An agouti man ambled his way through the tall grass, clearly following the coyote, but he wasn't fast enough to catch it, it seemed. Well. Marley was nothing if not fast. Long limbs carried her swiftly over the ground after the vermin. She had not been running for miles and was not as fatigued as the little creature either, so it was rather easy to catch up. Marlow landed on its back with a thump, pinning it to the ground and placing a paw quickly over its muzzle to keep it shut. She didn't want to hurt the little guy, but he couldn't just go around stealing stuff. "Were you looking for this?" she called to the older man over her shoulder, tail swaying in the air behind her as she continued to pin the thieving coyote to the ground. RE: blow high! blow low! and so sailed we - Kingsley - March 19, 2020 Well, this was just embarrassing. Kingsley, the dastardly pirate and fearsome mercenary with a lot more than just a few notches on his belt, having his quarry not only stolen by a measly coyote, but having a mere yearling retrieve it for him! He paused mid stride as a lithe shadow sprinted past, long legs carrying her far quicker than he could ever hope to be. She managed to catch up to the wretched creature in moments before leaping and bringing him down with a loud thump. Kingsley picked up the pace to close the distance between them. "Aye, me treasure!" he barked in response to her question with a hearty laugh, rounding her side with a wave of his own tail. With his jaws held shut by the girl's paw, the coyote had lost his grip on the bone, which the pirate now lazily kicked out of his reach as he moved to stand before him. "Well, y'caught the bugger, feel free t'do the honours, lass," he said, gaze flicking to the smaller woman questioningly. RE: blow high! blow low! and so sailed we - Marlow - March 19, 2020 This guy talked kind of funny. It brought a smile to Marley's face as she turned her attention from the struggling coyote to the man above. The cyan eyes were the first thing she noticed, and then the scars. Tales of a hard life - she had a few of her own. They were certainly nothing to be ashamed of, and if she were honest, she almost always forgot that her own ear was folded over and that her fur didn't meet up all the way around the nape of her neck. A laugh pulled from her when he referred to the bone as treasure, and then her mirth was switched to confusion at the latter statement. Do the honors? Did he want her to kill it? It wasn't that she was a bleeding heart or anything - she could kill things, to eat. But they wouldn't eat the coyote, and the sight of the back of its neck as it quivered beneath her made her realize just how much power she held over it. She didn't want to abuse that. So, decisively, she backed off and let the coyote sprint off into the field, and let out a soft sigh. "Done," she announced, offering him a smile and hoping he wouldn't be too upset about letting the coyote go. "Have you been chasing him far? You smell like the ocean." RE: blow high! blow low! and so sailed we - Kingsley - March 20, 2020 The coyote writhed and squirmed under the woman who, while slender, was still far larger than the creature below her. Kingsley stared down at him, his narrowed gaze catching the frightened coyote's own. Oh, he could see he had fucked up now. He thought he was able to steal from Kingsley and suffer no consequence, thought himself cunning - infallible, even! - but, in the end, he had exchanged his life for a measly meal. When the pirate gave the order to the young woman, he turned to the sky to listen to the almighty snap of his spine, the screeching and yowling of pain as she tore the life from the thieving scoundrel. Instead, what he heard was a rustle of grass and the sudden pounding of hurried paws against earth. Done. Features blank, Kingsley lowered his muzzle to stare directly at the space before him, now empty save for the dark-furred girl wearing an eager smile. He blinked at her, before turning to, once again, see the quickly disappearing rear end of that god forsaken coyote. "Aye," he answered slowly, looking back to her. He noticed then the floppy ear, the stark ring of white that encircled her shoulders like a shawl. She was young-looking, though not a yearling like he had first thought. A fair age. He let his eyes trail her long limbs for a moment before redirecting his attention back to her face. She wasn't entirely feminine; had a sort of rougher edge to her than some other women he had met. Fast, though would be easy to overpower. Sinister thoughts crept into his head that Kingsley pushed aside for the time being - though they did not go entirely ignored. "Been chasing 'im all the way from the coast," he said finally as his features fell into a relaxed, lopsided grin. A front. |
