thinking, planning - Ying - March 24, 2020

March 25 — Non-obligatory group hunt! No post order, first round ends 03/27 or later, if <4 have joined.
@Huā @Aiolos @Orochi @Ruvik @Ruò @Lei @Daiyu @Fengmian
@Valyri @Nefris
edit: this hunt is unsuccessful, but the sea lion takes some damage (18/20).

Celebrations— She tilted her head back and sounded the summons, adding the wolves of Stavenger Bay toward its end. Summer would bring pups to the colony; now, it was inhabited by pregnant mothers and inattentive fathers. The males had not yet begun their battles for dominance, and were lazy in the protection of their domains. Likewise, the mothers had become too swollen to effectively defend themselves, should the entirety of their two lupine groups approach.

After waiting for the group to arrive, she began her introduction. I am Ying. I lead the hunts for Yuèlóng. Bright blue eyes scanned the crowd, ensuring everyone was paying attention. Today, we want one sea lion, and we want the biggest we can get. There were several males who she had surveyed prior to this conversation, each one having piqued her interest.

Everyone goes with a partner. — a nod toward a larger male, lounging in the sun — Two, go make noise and scare the others. Then, some move to the side and defend. Everyone else, go to the sea lion and be careful of his mouth. She waited until everyone was sure of their positions and the wolves they would work with before beginning her descent onto the shores.

RE: thinking, planning - Huā - March 24, 2020

Ying's call brought her forth- she had been hovering at the edge of the wilderness and the coast on her way home. There were things she had learned, news to share- and she had purposefully taken her time making her way home. The idea of coming to her sister with such news was terrifying- that Ying could say I told you so! And Huā would become a careless whore in the eyes of her people.

She arrives before the others- and finding the silver girl alone at present, before her dialogue, Huāzhen approaches her. A loving lap to her cheek, and then she pulls away, looking her right in the eyes. 英,我要帮他们,可是。。。我。。。我肚子疼死了。你懂我吗? She inquired gently, giving her a very purposeful look, like please understand. She could not bear to share the news straightforwardly yet, still it had not entirely hit her. But Ying would know- although still skinny, there was the slightest beginnings of a baby bump on Huā's stomach.

The empress would find a boulder on the sidelines to watch on the hunt and Ying's speech silently, quietly commending her for her excellent skill as their gēnjú. Sitting in a way that purposefully hid her beginning pregnancy- she knew that, perhaps, she would appear lazy to her people just for today. But by the end of the week, they would understand why she could not participate.

RE: thinking, planning - Aiolos - March 24, 2020

When the call sounds Aiolos is prompt. Already off the island with intent to scout around the neighboring landmarks along the shoreline, he arrives not long after his Empress to which he dips his head to respectfully. Along the top of a shore rock she sits, watching her Lead Huntress take command. She is also Lead of Junshi so Aiolos' attention is firm. I'll take guard, keep the other ones back if they get any wild ideas.  He was obviously used to watching his packmate's backs, to be the piece between them and oncoming threat.

RE: thinking, planning - Ruvik - April 04, 2020

The summons echo over the sounds of the island and, while hesitant, Ruvik answers by making his way across the land bridge as quickly as he can. A hunt - he scarcely remembers the last time he had hunted in a pack before. The Savior had provided for Augustus' little group; they had very little need to take down prey as large as these shore-dwelling beasts.

Ruvik eyes them cautiously as he approaches the group, skittering along the sand nervously until he was well within the safety of the other wolves. His eyes seek out Huā, sitting gracefully yet alone atop a boulder. He mistook her non-participation to be a cultural thing - the royalty of the pack did not engage, but simply oversaw the hunts. He gives a quick wag of his tail to the queen before turning to the pale furred huntress as she lays out their plans.

Ruvik's heart hammers in his chest, glancing from Ying to the beasts along the shore, staring in particular at their fangs that protruded from their mouths like daggers ready to tear into wolf flesh. He begins to anxiously dance from paw to paw as another, much larger, male speaks up, announcing he would keep the other sea lions back. Making his way over to the auburn wolf, Ruvik aligns with him to serve as look out, if only to selfishly keep his cowardly self away from the majority of the fighting. "Ruvik also d-defend,"

RE: thinking, planning - Ying - April 10, 2020

there was an imbalance between offense and defense. she was confident in her hunting abilities, and didn't have a problem with taking the lead, though she wished that the others had also come to assist. ying nodded to both of the men, turning down onto the shores to begin their descent.

assuming aiolos and ruvik were watching for attackers, ying began making their distraction. yips and nips as she trotted, headed directly for the large male sitting at the troop's outskirts.
