Placing bait - Valour - March 28, 2020 Activity for the pups? @Death @Famine @Pestilence @Conquest @Valium @Lithium Forwarded to whenever the pups would be out of the dens. Killing practice.
The day had brought with it an interesting idea. The pups had begun to come outside and explore and he'd only met the two children Serem bore. There wasn't anything interesting about pups really from what he could see. They seemed pretty helpless and annoying but Valium had showed the little spark of viciousness needed to survive a place like this. He wanted to see if they all had it in them. Half the day had been spent searching specifically for a rabbit and chasing it down, only maiming it so the poor beast couldn't move and then carrying it's fear stunned body to the pack grounds and going toward the dens, dropping the rabbit and tearing the hide in a wide gash causing the scent of blood and prey to permeate the air. It was then he called to the pups trying not to use the commanding brutal tone he did with others because he feared their mothers coming out and getting after him. RE: Placing bait - Guardián - March 28, 2020 Why was she so distant? Famine had noticed his mother's disinterest, but didn't care to investigate. Eirwyn had only ever given him milk, and now that his teeth were beginning to push through, his interest in meat had overcome his natal cravings. He and Conquest had recently exited the den for their first adventure. Having tasted the outside world, Famine held more interest in exploration and eating trying new things. The scent of meat and the quiet chitters of the dying beast pulled Famine closer to where Valour stood. He looked the boy over, tilting his head curiously, and immediately moved to begin nibbling at the rabbit's ear. RE: Placing bait - Lithium - March 28, 2020 The smell of blood drew her out of the den and towards the enticing scent. But not before glancing at her mother who sat there watching her to see what she was about to do and much to her dismay she gave a nod of her head and she ran out the den and saw the thing that gave her brother the pine cone. She saw the dead thing in front of her and was curious, it wasn't chewed up like the meat she got normally was so she looked at Valour. RE: Placing bait - Conquest - March 29, 2020 Very little pushed the young warrior to move out of her den, away from her siblings and into the outside world of the misty forest around them. The fire eater preferred the comfort of the den and away from anything that might hurt her further, but as the scent of blood permeated the air and strung her along, Conquest left the den once more with Famine by the promise of something new to eat. Unlike Famine, Connie stood still, eyes looking over the little beast that the stranger had brought them. The smell of blood was a curious one, but the thing still moved so it wasn't food... not yet anyway, even if it did almost smell like it. Ruby eyes turning from the rabbit and back onto the older pup who brought it, looking at him with wide-eyed curiosity about what would come next. Even her tail began to sway while some excitement began to bubble up from within. RE: Placing bait - Valium - March 29, 2020 Taking the pinecone from Lithium, he bounced after his sister out of the den after they got the nod from Serem to go and investigate what Valour brought them now. The pinecone was comically big in his mouth and made it tough to move, but boy he tried anyway. The thing was chewed up and barely the same thing it was before, but he loved chewing on it and it was his favorite toy thus far. Stopping next to Lithium, he eyed the creature at Valour's feet before looking up at the older pup with wonder. Putting down the pinecone finally, his tail swinging behind him. What this?Whats this new thing Valour brought them? It was moving... was it a new toy? One of the other pups came by, the bigger russet one stayed behind but it was the two-toned one who was already chewing on the new toy that caught his attention. Stop! With furrowed brows, he gave a small growl and went to bite the closest thing to him that was maybe a Famine's foot to drag him away. This was his toy too! Mostly his, why was this other trying to get in on his fun? RE: Placing bait - Valour - March 31, 2020 One by one four of the children came out. Famine was the first and he watched the well fed child slowly lower himself to inspect the rabbit by nibbling. Tail rising upward he went to nudge the boy away to wait for the others before Lithium showed up gaining his attention by politely looking to him. To the familiar girl he gave a friendly sway of his tail "Wait just a moment" the words were said calmly as he lifted his gaze to see Conquest come out to inspect the rabbit more politely than her brother had. This had his smile growing and he nodded to her, tail still wagging while held upright to signal he was in charge despite his current gentle demeanor. Just as he was going to speak he spotted Valium and immediately felt a wave of surprise followed by strong warmth as he spotted the soggy mainly destroyed pinecone. It was a moment that passed by as the rabbit was spotted by him too and the pinecone was tossed aside. Smiling still he took the question with surprise at the forward nature of the boy "This is a rabbit. It's food" as he answered he realised Valium was staring at Famine and watched startled as he commanded the other child to stop eating the rabbit and then went to bite. Valour growled sharply and moved forward trying to cut off the attack and yank the rabbit from their reach. "Valium you won't get to earn a piece if you're mean to Famine" the words were sharp but he gave Valium the kindness of a slow wag to show he wasn't being mean himself. Turning to Famine he said gently "He's right to wait. You can't chew through that ear anyway" then he turned to the girls seeing as they had been polite the entire time and motioned them closer "I'm going to show you the end of a hunt. How prey becomes food" before he could get their reactions he gripped the rabbit by the throat and broke it with a sharp yank the crack filling the silence his words had left. The rabbit twitched and then rapidly faded, going still and dying neatly and quietly in front of the pups. "Now I want you guys to grab it and tug it apart. Work together" he commanded it and stepped back to allow them to go at it together, praying no fights would break out. RE: Placing bait - Guardián - March 31, 2020 Famine snapped backward, teeth aimed for the little boy's face. He didn't like being bitten; Conquest, she was his only playmate, and the only other pup he would allow such a privilege. He didn't understand most of Valour's words. Famine limped excitedly toward his favorite sister, opening his mouth to nibble at an ear. Ta-ged-er, he whispered to himself. Until Conquest moved, he would remain planted, waiting for her to make that decision. RE: Placing bait - Valium - April 12, 2020 Even as Valour puts himself between the little prince and the lowly commoner pup (even if they were half-siblings, his thoughts may never change on that matter), Valium still tried to push his way through to continue showing his dominance over the other puppies despite their current guardian's efforts. The boy's wrath mainly on the black and white pup than the rabbit. Once Valour was giving them the okay to go for the rabbit - assuming he meant everyone and not just the girls, not that it would stop the little prince either, eager to bite into the rabbit's hide as Valour did, he went to grab a paw of the beast and tugged and pulled with all his might to try and rip it off its hinges. RE: Placing bait - Valour - April 16, 2020 I'm going to continue, please let me know if you want to be skipped over or if this should be wrapped up! Mild PP so it makes sense
They all kind of just stared at him, Famine mimicking one word and the two girls just nodding and wagging though he wasn't entirely sure they understood either. What set it off and made it interesting was Valium. The boy dove for the rabbit the second he placed it down, grabbing a paw and snatching it. Before Valour could take it away the girls jumped in and took hold of the rabbit yanking it violently. "Go on Famine, hurry" he encouraged loud enough to be heard over the sounds of growls and flesh being torn. In a few moments he figured the rabbit would be ripped apart and he'd have to monitor them so they didn't choke on their new tasty chew toys. RE: Placing bait - Lithium - April 19, 2020 She had been licking the dead creature in front of her and gnawing on one of its bones near its feet and would growl at any pup that got near it cause this portion was claimed in the eyes of the pup. It was the only thing giving her hurting teeth relief. RE: Placing bait - Valour - May 02, 2020 I am going to close this up with my post but let me know if anyone wants to write their bean out. i'll give it a day or two
When none but Valium and Lithium moved into action he grabbed a piece of the rabbit and yanked, helping the two pups tear the thing apart. Watching the two children take theirs he dropped the hunk of meat and looked to Famine and Conquest "Next time try yourselves" the words were stern but he followed up by splitting the meat in two and giving each child one "Take it back to your mothers" he said and motioned for them to head off watching as they all took their pieces and happily carried them off. He smiled to himself, tail wagging slowly at his ankles as he studied the mess of gore and flesh before him which he saw as potential. The kids were strong Nightwalker blood..direct from the source and it showed in the way they took to tearing and ripping. Turning away he headed toward the shade of his den to take a rest, tired from the nights he'd been without sleep. |
