down to the river - Spica - March 31, 2020 It was with wide-eyed excitement that Spica moved back to the River. She ran the whole way, running forth, going back, telling @Speedy (and probably @Emrik ?), @Acheron and @Syrma (if aforementioned twin wasn't running with her anyway) that they were slow pokes and omg omg they needed to hurry up and go already geez!! At some point halfway through Spica grew tired from all the running and she took a twenty second break after which she continued her zoomies and raced by the rest of the family again. She danced and placed with Syrma along the way and her tail wagged furiously. Finally, no more hoboring plains! Now, when she was little, Spica had always found the river rather a boring place too, because it was home and therefore not exciting in any way. But now that she was growing older and had forcibly lived in a much more boring place for for-practically-ever Spica had really started to see the good sides of the river. It was a much more diverse territroy than the plains. When the family arrived at the river, Spica said, I'm gonna explore, k bye!and she ran off, hoping her twin or maybe someone else might join. She just hoped it wasn't gonna be Emrik (but Iris does hope this) because he was on the shit list for boning her mom right now. i assumed that the pups know about Speedy & Emrik being mates, but not yet that they want pups this year. let me know if i assumed wrong so i can correct <3
RE: down to the river - Emrik - March 31, 2020 imma hop into this modern family drama…
And she was gone. The upbeat and independent girl had been bouncing back and forth, back and forth the whole trip. Emrik, still slightly injured, meandered alongside Speedy. The pair watching the yearlings enthusiastic chatter and hyper energy. They had only just arrived before she was off again, eager to reacquaint herself with home. Of course, home wouldn’t be exactly as she remembered, and a tendril of worry struck Emrik as he remembered his fall. With a split decision made, Emrik rushed after her. “Hey! Spica! Hold up!” He was a scout after all. And what do scouts do best? Explore! RE: down to the river - Spica - April 03, 2020 Before anyone had the chance to respond she was off, but she heard a voice calling in the distance. Emrik, of course. Just the person she wanted to see the very least of all the persons in this pack. Spica looked over her shoulder at him. Just to make a point she galopped a little bit further before standing still and looking over her shoulder at him, allowing him to catch up. What's up, slowpoke?she asked, her tone mocking. He wasn't fast enough to keep up with her, so why should she waste her time on him? Well, she was kinda doing it right now anyway but that only made her a nicer person than she really needed to be. RE: down to the river - Speedy - April 10, 2020 yeah that's what i was thinking too. i planned on having a group thread once speedy knows she pregs so she can announce it to the family <3
Speedy was just as excited to move back home, and she couldn't be happier to finally make the journey back to the river with her family. She wished Castor had been among them, but she knew there's was nothing she could do about it. She had to trust that he was okay and would make his way back home. It was easier said than done, though, and she often found herself riddled with worry and anxiety over her missing son. When they finally reached the river, Acheron took off, mumbling something about checking on a hidden stick. And Spica promptly dismissed them to go exploring, Emrik following after her anyway. She smiled and after a few moments trotted off after them with a smile to Syrma, inviting her to come along if she wanted. She thought exploring with the family was a good way to spend the day, and Emrik probably knew what places weren't safe. She arrived just in time to hear the cheeky remark from her daughter and she gave her the mom look she knew she must be tired of seeing. Spica, be nice, she warned, in the gentle but firm way she had. RE: down to the river - Emrik - May 24, 2020 Emrik scoffed at the girl, not perturbed by her tone. He wasn't her father, step-father wasn't the same thing. He hoped that one day she might come to see him in that light, but right now. He was fine just trying to be her friend. He simply choose to take the words as a friendly jab rather than anything else he could have construed it as. He wasn't trying to come in and be their parent, Speedy's kids were to old for that. No, any relationship's he hoped to forge would take time and patience. Both of which he had plenty. "I know a few good places to see if you're interested Spica?" Of course after her remark he doubted she would want to know which places he thought were good. But, time and patience would mend all, and he had to keep trying. RE: down to the river - Spica - June 04, 2020 Spica had thought that her mother was way out of range, and she startled a little when she heard her mother's warning. Ugh. Spica probably wouldn't have been so sassy to Emrik if she'd known that her mother was listening, but that only made her more annoyed at him. Did he really need mom to fight his battles for him? Yeah, yeah, she scoffed back at her mother, her tone just on the edge of being respectful enough; her tone displayed her displeasure without outright talking back or yes, mommming Speedy. Emrik offered to show some places, though Spica sincerely doubted that he knew any 'good' places. They'd probably be super uncool places. With a dramatic sigh Spica said, Whatever, sure, show me your 'good' places.Though she of course couldn't make airquotes, her tone implied them heavily enough to likely get the message across: she didn't think his places would be any good. She thought they would be super-boring. But sure, she would humour him, for now. RE: down to the river - Speedy - June 09, 2020 She got the usual attitude from Spica, but Emrik didn't seem upset about any of it, so she didn't push the subject any further. Her mate actually went out of his way to be nice despite her daughter's rudeness, for which she was thankful. She also hoped that one day, the kids would come to love him like a father. She offered a gentle nuzzle to Spica and turned her focus to Emrik, ready to hear what places he thought were cool. She had her own favorite places here, but she was interested to see which places he liked most. She was very happy to be back at the river and she was ready to get back to normal life; it felt like nothing had been completely normal while they were on the plains. They just didn't feel like home, not like the river did. She smiled to both them and to Emrik, softly told him to: Lead the way. RE: down to the river - Emrik - June 17, 2020 He smiled at them both, before contemplating where he should take them. There were a few spots that came to mind. There was always the hole but he wasn't sure if the area was completely safe. Then there was where they would be staying, the herbalists den he had found for Speedy. But, he had kinda wanted that to be just the two of them, not to mention Spica would probably not find that 'kool'. Emrik did perk at one thought. He had found it a couple days after the scouting party had arrived, he thought it was cool. The view was amazing. He could only hope this wasn't a mistake, and Spica wouldn't hate him more before the day was done. "Come on it's right on the edge of the territory." And he set off. Taking them to the wall of the neighboring plateau. [b]"I found this place the with the scouting party, the view is amazing." He paused before a small, narrow rocky path the lead up. He looked up, just seeing where he was taking them. "Up we go?" RE: down to the river - Spica - June 26, 2020 Now mom was coming, too. Spica had just wanted to check out all her old hangouts and explore all the new places she hadn't seen yet as a wee child, but now she was just on an outing with mom and -- barf -- dad. She didn't really like it. She wouldn't have minded mom's company, really, nor Emrik's. But both of them together was a bit much, because it was a constant reminder of how Emrik was trying to steal her mother away from her and how they were soooo in love or whatever. Emrik alone she couldn't cheeked at, and Speedy alone she could've learned from or have interesting conversations with. But together, somehow they melted into a blob of boring civilianship that left Spica with a bitter taste in her mouth. She was surprised to hear that Emrik knew about the plateau, though. The plateau? Doesn't a pack live there?she asked, betraying that she had visited it once -- when she and Syrma had been much younger, just before they left the river. She didn't know the pack had left since. RE: down to the river - Speedy - July 07, 2020 She was excited to see the place Emrik wanted to show them, and she hoped Spica would be pleased too. She followed him in the direction of this place, slowing some to make sure she walked next to her daughter. She raised her eyebrows in suspicion at Spica's question. Now, how would you know that?she asked. Had she gone exploring outside of the territory without her knowing? She certainly hoped not. She was allowed to explore at her age, but she was supposed to let Speedy know where she was going and take someone with her. She still walked forward, although a little slower now that she was waiting for her daughter's explanation. RE: down to the river - Spica - August 13, 2020 posting again since Emrik is on ppc. do you want to continue this with just us 2, or make it a fade?
Now, how would you know that came mom's words, and Spica didn't have an answer right away. She winced, though looked away from Speedy because she didn't want to show that she was caught. Uh --Gotta think fast! Someone from that pack came to our borders once, not long before we moved to the plains.Spica's heart was thrumming in her chest and maybe her mother would be able to see through her lie, but she wasn't going to give up without a fight. Maybe they moved?she suggested, considering Emrik didn't seem to think any pack lived here; and it was a good way to divert the subject from her and Syrma breaking the rules way back when. RE: down to the river - Speedy - September 24, 2020 Speedy raised an eyebrow at her daughter's explanation. She supposed she had no reason to suspect she was lying, but something still seemed off. She decided to let it go, though, giving Spica the benefit of the doubt. I see,was all she said. Then she looked up towards the plateau. There are always good plants to be found there, she told them both. She promptly headed in the direction Emrik had started to lead them, glancing back to Spica with a smile to make sure she was close. There may not be a pack there anymore, according to Emrik, but she still wanted to make sure they were all safe. And once there, she could hopefully teach her daughter a few things about plants if she was up for learning today. RE: down to the river - Spica - September 27, 2020 Phew, mom bought her explanation. Good to know,Spica hastily answered -- a little bit too hastily, trying to cover her ass and change the subject -- You know, in case I ever -- need plants -- yeah. They headed up towards the plateau where Spica eagerly listened to her mother's explanation about various plants, though more because she didn't wanna seem suspicious or revisit the earlier subject, than actually being interested. |
