it'd been late when svatomyr stumbled his way into king elk forest; seeking the first thing he could find as shelter — an uprooted tree whose massive root system partially towers over him and conceals, with thick vines, a hidden den more than big enough for him. it wasn't until the next mid-morning, near afternoon, as the warming rays of sunshine trickle in thru the whispering vines; blinding. pearlescent eye blinks open and squints against the bright onslaught. for a long moment he considers shifting his back to the entrance and sleeping longer.
groggy and hungry, however, he rises from his den to the snowfall — the source of the brightness of the sun — and begins a hunt for something to scrounge for a late breakfast.

Solanus had remained in the forest for nearly a week, and had resigned himself to the fact he needed to move forward soon- with or without the wolf he had hunted with at the beginning of the week.
At least he had enough food in his belly to last him weeks, and a haunch buried under the thawing snow and leaf litter.
He was preparing to move...lets see... North east? Yes. That sounded adequate. However his motions to do so we're interrupted by the pawsteps near where he had scratched out his Sleeping hollow.
He rose, filtered sunlight gleaming off his gilded pelt making it Glow as though the sun itself was woven into his coat, and chuffed a greeting at the newcomer, before padding towards him to investigate.
