Overlooking the kingdom from my throne - Skyfire - April 19, 2020

The smell of the flowers was strong. Skyfire sniffed the air with her large nose and found no other scent besides her own, except for the trailing scents of wolves who had passed theough here from time to time. A snort rippled from her snout and a stomp eased her frustrations. Besides being a self-proclaimed queen, there was no one to rule here. Flaxen mane brushed her shoulders as she scanned the area with her fiery golden eyes. Against a liver colored coat, her eyes were the sharpest of her features. It matched her personality which was a lot for others to handle. She was a queen. Hardly a drama queen, but she could be considered high maintenance. As long as she got her way, peace could be had.

The  meadow were beautiful. Colors ranging from orange, to pink, to yellow, her fiery colored eyes were quick to lock on to the flowers. With the partly cloudy day, the flowers weren't as bright as they would be in the sun, but at least the sunlight wouldn't heat up her back. The one season Sky didn't like was summer because it got way too hot. Not only did you suffer dehydration, but others got really pissy and temperamental. It was more of an annoyance, really, than something she would get pissed about. However, it wasn't something she would tolerate insolence for long periods. Sky was better than that. With her noble bloodline, she demanded respect, especially since she could kick and hurt a wolf with little effort.

The rain had ceased early in the morning, so the ground was still wet. Water droplets clung to the flower petals, making them shine like jewels. If only they could stay like this forever. Between the flowers, Sky nosed her way through and grazed on the grass that was here. She preferred meadows that had been freshly rained on, or the early morning dew. Today, Sky had slept in so there was no morning dew today, but it had rained overnight. During her outing, her mind wandered and wondered if there were others like her, or if she was the only equine in the area.
