Out like a light - Bhageera - May 13, 2020

Bhageera and an NPC male lynx are trespassing. First round ends the 16th! No post order

For some people things never changed.

Take Bhageera for example. She'd done nothing but pester wolves and try to rob packs her entire life. The lynx had taken so many beatings you'd have thought she'd learn a lesson. After much time away from Teekon she'd found herself a handsome fellow who trekked after her like a kitten would, she supposed he would be fine to make kittens with come the next season if he lasted that long with her lifestyle. That day brought them to a shaded patch of woods where it reeked of wolves and pups and prey to be snatched. Quickly she ushered her boy toy onward ahead of her, purring smugly as she kept an eye out for any wolves unashamed to use him as a blockage for the time being as they made for the nearest cache.

RE: Out like a light - RIP Clarence - May 13, 2020

What a strange smell. Clarence flattened his ears and tipped his head to the side as he followed it. The smell was almost sour, unlike anything Clarence had ever experienced before.

The piebald boy perked his ears when he spotted the creatures - they weren't too far from his size, with big paws and short tails like Santiago. Definitely not wolves and definitely not creatures who belonged here.

With a growl, the boy lunged forward, getting himself between them and the prey they were heading for. Perhaps he'd be able to scare them off.

RE: Out like a light - Santiago Arcos - May 13, 2020

Santiago has been lazing about in the grotto, enjoying the fresh spring air and sleeping his young years away. That is until, so faint and barely audible, Santiago hears a growl. Knowing it specifically as his mates, he stands and hops off the ledge of his nest. Instantly, he sprints to the males side. No matter if he was play fighting with someone or it was a real situation, he rarely ever hears Clarence growl and he’ll kill any that stand to mess with the piebald boy.

Upon further inspection, he realizes there’s something amiss. Then he knows there’s something amiss when he lands eyes on the cat like creature. A lynx. Instantly, he moves behind the animal, boxing it in. Coming out of the brush he bares his teeth savagely. Poised and ready to kill, he glances to Clarence, assuring him with his gaze alone that Santi’s got his back.

RE: Out like a light - Guardián - May 13, 2020

the commotion near their border prompted famine to investigate. he waddled toward the noise and hid behind a bush to watch, discreetly examining the unfolding scene. there were things he'd never seen before, two of them, paired against his friends. what was happening?

the child quietly wandered from his hiding place, then confidently ran barking between santiago's legs. three against two gave their team better chances, right? famine didn't yet have the critical thinking skills to understand that a pup being mixed in likely would have lowered their chances of success.

RE: Out like a light - Valour - May 13, 2020

Thus far the day had been an easy one. Forced to try and take it easy because of his wounds and ankle he hadn't done more than one patrol to piss on the borders in the morning. When the commotion broke out he was gnawing on a bone heart leaping into his throat as the snarling shattered the silence. Rising up he bolted coming upon the scene he quickly surveyed and went from the side giving the felines no option but to run or fight them and die. Jaws snapping he went straight for the male his jaws closing around fur as the cat nimbly leaped back both paws lashing out in a flurry of swipes. Pain erupted across his chest and he leaped back with a shout, only in that moment seeing the child between Santiago's paws right in the way of the whirling angry feline  "Famine scram!" he shouted his stomach surging with sickening terror for the boy's life.

RE: Out like a light - Memory - May 13, 2020

Retuning from his foray into the fen he was instantly allerted to a commotion near the food pile. Valour's panicked scream, and a distinctly not Lupine scream.
he bolted forward, heart in his throat, skirting around behind the the cat and catching Valour's eye. "Valour! Like we did with the boar!" Praying his Alpha would remember, and that Clarence would have the sense to get the damn pup away from the cat, he lunged forward, a snarling in his throat making him sound like something hellish, snapping his jaws on the hind leg of the lynx and attempting to drag her backwards.

RE: Out like a light - Bhageera - May 14, 2020

They'd been prepared for one or maybe two of the wolves to rush them but before they had gone very far they were surrounded. Bhageera watched as her lover successfully defended against a young male before turning to keep an eye on the large wolf who appeared behind her like a phantom. To her amusement there was a child who came yapping between his legs and she licked her maw only taunting before there were suddenly fangs sinking into her hind leg. Turning with a yowl she raised a large paw and swatted at him claws unsheathed as she jerked and kicked her leg pulling it free. Hissing and puffed twice her normal size she looked around eyes a bit wild as she faced Santiago and did something that earned her the future death she would recieve. Lifting her forepaw she flexed her claws and brought it swinging down toward the innocent child who was in the way. An injured kid would end up being more important than her right? At the same time her lover had gone for the black and white spotted wolf, his claws doing their own damage and filling the air with the scent of wolf blood as the felines did all they could to protect themselves.

RE: Out like a light - RIP Clarence - May 14, 2020

Permission given to powerplay and kill the male

Clarence hadn't expected this to be so... dangerous. These creatures weren't that big, but they were ferocious, and the male lunged for him. The boy rolled with the animal, hoping that someone would get Famine out of the vicinity before the female hurt him too badly.

He hardly registered the pain at first - the cuts were clean and quick, his skin fileted by long claws that he hadn't realized any animal but a bird could have. The spotted boy kicked the beast off of him for long enough to gain his bearings, but it was all so quick. Still, he was confident that he could handle it, and slammed his body into the male's, rolling into a heap of flying claws and fur and teeth.

Despite the size difference, it was a rough fight. Clarence's lungs were screaming at him, but they were so tightly intertwined that it'd be near impossible for another wolf to come in and separate them. But he liked it this way - the thrill of the fight, so up close and personal. It was familiar, and he flourished there.

The boy eventually managed to pin the creature down and sink his teeth into its throat, jerking his head back and forth as fangs cut cleanly through the jugular, just as he'd been taught. The lynx's hind claws scored deep gashes along his belly and flanks, but he didn't register it. Not yet, anyway.

It would meet its end relatively quickly, with its throat destroyed and the dying screech on its maw, and Clarence would shake it a few more times to make sure it really was dead before he let it go.

Stepping away was difficult, and his vision was slightly blurry. His fur was more red than it was white, and he would have some more scars to add to his collection. The boy sat down with a thump, hazy red eyes staring at the corpse of the creature he'd mangled and hoping the others could take the female on without him, because he was dizzy and his body had suddenly decided that it no longer wanted to stand. Adrenaline and focus would make it nearly impossible for him to tell just how hurt he was, but he was pretty sure all of his organs were still in his body.

RE: Out like a light - Santiago Arcos - May 15, 2020

Santi’s shocked as he sees the other cat go for Clarence and the hair previously smoothed down upon his pelt stands horribly on end. His teeth show an a vicious growls slips from him. Afraid the second lynx would take advantage and attack Clarence too, he leaps into action.

Sprinting forth, first around the front side of the cat, it maliciously swipes it’s massive paws at him. It’s long teeth jut out as it’s whiskers and maw pull back in a deep, otherworldly hiss.

Undeterred by its meager batting of paws and claws, he pushes forth. Tucking his chin and closing his eyes, knowing exactly what it’ll go for–the soft spots. He hits the thing head on as it tries it’s hard to pounce up and away and it almost does.

As a display of quickness and skill, his
mouth opens wide, elongated teeth ready to puncture and rip flesh and break bone, he latches onto its left hind legs ankle. Almost instantaneously, his jaws clamp shit a horrible crack resonated throughout his ears and vibrates his skull. It reaches back pitifully and screams in pain. Ears in hearing due to the blood pumping in his veins, Santi shakes his head vigorously all while yanking the cat in his direction.

Body flexing, and head wildly swinging from side to side, blood, sinew, and tendons fly through the air. An almost audible snap, signifies his victory as he rips its leg off. Bits of stringy ligaments falling from the wound as crimson pours from the open veins there.

RE: Out like a light - Guardián - May 15, 2020

joining the fight seemed like a good idea, until it didn't. suddenly, the adults were attacking one another and making sounds that famine hadn't heard before. there were claws being thrown, teeth being bared, while he was left helpless and hardly noticed.

the child turned to escape but was slowed by his limp. before he could fully exit the scene, the she-cat's claws were digging into the soft flesh of his shoulder. famine spun around with a yelp, feeling her drag against the side of his face with a similar movement.

she was whisked away by one of the other adults, but famine remained. he trembled against the ground, releasing pitiful little whines as he awaited someone's help.

RE: Out like a light - Valour - May 15, 2020

Everything went straight to hell as one cat leaped for Clarence a fight erupting that Santiago jumped into fast...leaving Famine wide open. The frenzied feline slashed and he watched with wide eyes as crimson sprayed over the child's body. Something snapped inside of him and he roared charging forward and slamming his entire body into the she cat sending her rolling aside and shouting at at Memory "Rip her to shreds!" it wasn't as the man had wanted but what else was he to do with an injured pup in the open. Turning to Famine he cringed at the nasty wounds he'd gotten, unaware his own chest flesh was in ribbons.  "We gotta move, go!" he ordered urgently before reaching down beginning to use his to push in a direction opposite of the fight far enough off that he'd be safe until they could come for him again If allowed he would check the wounds and lick them to try and slow the bleeding before muttering "I'm sorry but I have to help" and bolting back to help Memory end it if it hadn't been done already.

RE: Out like a light - Memory - May 15, 2020

Claws collided with his already marred face, and everything became a blur of sound, screaming and fighting.
until the pup was injured. White hot fury bled through him and he snarled, leaping at the she-cat who had sealed her fate by harming Famine. Taking advantage of her being knocked aside he seized her head in his jaws, feeling fangs shatter bone. He shook her violently, like a pup hunting a rat for the first time, and felt a sick pleasure as he heard her spine snap. He dropped her, staring down at her, wanting to watch her die.

RE: Out like a light - Bhageera - May 15, 2020

It was when the young male knocked her aside like a boulder that she realized she was in for it. She could hear her lover yowl and for a second she felt bad about dragging him into it. Then she saw the bleeding stump and the two wolves on him and knew he wasn't going to make it. Then before she could focus on herself they were on her too. A screech left her maw cut short by the snap of her spine that left her shaking limp as a rag doll jaw parted as she went silent from shock. Soon when the rest came she'd be a shredded carcass added to the caches. Her life ended in the way it was lived. Stupidly.

RE: Out like a light - RIP Clarence - May 15, 2020

Clarence got to his feet again and headed over toward the cowering Famine, positioning himself above the gray pup and bristling, fully intent on defending him from perceived threats. The injuries were beginning to mess with his head, stinging on his hide and making him a little dizzy. He didn't intend on hurting anyone else, but he did need to protect. That was what he deemed important right now.

RE: Out like a light - Valour - May 15, 2020

Racing back into the fight he joined Memory snatching onto the limp limbs of the she cat and pulling back hard. Shaking and snarling savagely he lost himself to the haze of red and yanked over and over again until-

A sickening tearing and blood pouring to the ground as the combined tugging ripped the lynx apart, the only thing keeping her together at all being the spinal chord and tattered flesh. Panting he dropped the feline staring at it as blood oozing from his wounds before he turned back toward Famine though he was glad to see Clarence was already there protecting him. The air reeked with the stench of blood and now that everything was quiet he could  feel the energy leaving his body in a rush "I think we all need Serem" he finally said, seeming a bit shaken. That hadn't gone very well for anyone involved, it was terrifying how two smaller animals could do so much damage.

RE: Out like a light - Memory - May 18, 2020

Im an idiot and forgot it's my turn to reply ?

He would be lying if he said he wasn't impressed with Valour's savagery.
The cat dead he collected himself, turning to Clarence and breathing a sigh of relief to see Famine being protected.
He made his way to Clarence, cautiously, seeing the glassy stare he recognized all too well.
"Easy. Easy. It's over. You're all right. Come on. Breathe." He murmured gently, hesitant to touch him just yet. "Come on. Let's get the kid to Serem."

RE: Out like a light - Valour - May 26, 2020

permission to write out Santiago and Famine

Famine wasn't speaking and while Memory hurried to try and soothe Clarence who looked freaked out the young Warlord dipped his muzzle and gave his chest a few quick licks before his nose wrinkled with disgust and he spat out globs of his own blood. Santiago also rushed off in Clarence's direction and so Valour limped slowly after him following everyone toward Serem's den and abandoning the carcasses for now.
