That's what you get - Arbiter - May 17, 2020 Looking for @Valdemar, but if not then other Legion peeps!
She was still processing what she'd been told. It seemed almost unreal at this point, and maybe to someone else it would have seemed like closure, but to her it had ripped open a closed door and now she was left just metaphorically staring at it, uncertain what to do. It had been easier to be angry. Since running into Pike, she hadn't returned to the borders, but it hadn't been more than a day or two, so not the end of the world there. Those who didn't know her probably wouldn't even notice. Instead of doing her patrols, she lingered lakeside. She'd walked along the shore earlier, but now had retreated to lay under a tree not far away. Arbiter needed to either sort through her thoughts or find a distraction. Alone, she'd probably just do the former, eventually, once she figured out even where to begin. Then again, with others, she wasn't too keen to share her feelings with anyone. That just wasn't her. RE: That's what you get - Valdemar - May 17, 2020 Valdemar’s been quiet as of late; he does his job, hunts and patrols and socializes when expected of him but he doesn’t mingle in the way he ought to. No real reason. Maybe a rough adjustment period. Legion is new to him, and he’s new to Legion.
He’s on the daily grind when he’d picked up the lack of refreshers from his boss specifically. It doesn’t quite seem like her. By the time he finds her scent, he’s trailed in Legion territory pretty deep. The lake is nearby, and it doesn’t take Valdemar long before he spots the boss lounging underneath a tree. Hey, boss,he greets with a grin—good natured and laid-back. Mind if I keep you company? RE: That's what you get - Arbiter - May 21, 2020 In the end, rest was probably what she needed -- time was what she needed to feel like herself again, no matter what the cause was. The world would keep turning. Yet today she wasn't going to be alone, she spotted Valdemar as he approached. They hadn't really had a true conversation since their patrol together. Something she would apparently now have a chance to fix. She dipped her head, both in greeting and then as an invitation to join her, her expression muted, Feel free. Can't say it'll be as entertaining as a patrol. She was, after all, stationary. If something else showed up this deep into the territory, it'd be interesting but she doubted it would. She'd come here for a reason, after all, and that was because she didn't want to think too hard about trouble. There was enough on her mind. RE: That's what you get - Valdemar - June 01, 2020 Arbiter doesn’t chase him away, and thus Valdemar proceeds with joining her. He gives a few wags of his tail before he settles down a few feet away—sitting and then stretching his long forearms forward in a slow descend.
Don’t need to be. It’s good to chill and stretch out sometimes.Though his ma would likely come screaming about how lazy he’s being if she were here. Valdemar fortunately only got the boss to worry about doing that rn. He surveys the area nonetheless—cropped ears twitching alert at the sounds of birds and what not in the distance. His eyes only give a subtle glance in Arbiter’s direction when he asks; Somethin’ on your mind? RE: That's what you get - Arbiter - June 08, 2020 Mm. I found out why my mate didn't return. He's dead.Arbiter didn't exactly have a wide emotional range -- or at least that was the way she often presented herself in most scenarios. This was one of those cases. Whatever went on deep below the surface was guarded, moreso than usual. So her voice was somewhat flat, staying factual. But that was the easiest way to deal with things, wasn't it? She needed to figure out what that might change, if anything at this point. It allowed freedom, but at least right now that wasn't entirely what she'd wanted. It was not the ending she was expecting to things. And it was probably also a conversation killer. But she wasn't good at that either. |
