liliana's awareness of her surroundings grew more evident each day. she could properly recognize the scent of three wolves, her closest relatives, and knew when to respond to miriam's voice. any sound made by the woman was responded to with gleeful shouts and the frantic hunt for closeness.
this morning, after enjoying her first meal, the cherub worked her way toward amma's chest where she became buried in whisps of fur. she mewled quietly to herself, self-soothing while her mother slept.
